Default more problems help!

if you read my clutch job thread you would know how much trouble ive had with the dealer swapping in a new clutch ect. any ways.

so i got my car back today right before they closed. clutch pedal felt softer and took a few stop and go moments to get used to it. so i get home sat around for like 15 mins then realized i need smokes.got in the car and let it sit for a few moments. the store is less then a mile away, and half way there my check engine light came on.
when i got to the store i sat for a few. if my clutch isnt pressed in my idle goes from 1000 to 1500 and bounce back down(not in gear since i was in a parking lot). iam freaking out. also when i drove home i took it out of gear and coasted the rpm didnt bounce only when not moving this is happening.

Sounds like the clutch switch.
Take the car to Autozone and get the CEL code read to verify.

If it turns out to be the switch (or if you just want to visually inspect it first), attached is the location of the switch.
Remember, if you remove the switch from the harness, disconnect the battery.
If the sensor is bad, you'll need to get another from the dealer.

brought it back to the dealer last night, with my brother who is a sae mechanic (sp?). god he gave them a rant for a .2 mile test drive. turned out to be a neutral safety switch not sure if its the same one you guys talked about.

i found out today that the dealer service department has so many complaints ect.

The neutral switch was going to be my next guess.
Both the clutch and neutral switch failure creates that erratic RPM activity and has been a known issue.
Glad you got it going now.

yeah since i got the 8 i have been having a rough few weeks. pay cut ect ect ect.

the messed up thing about the clutch job is this. when i got in the car and pressed the clutch in to start it i was like wtf it feels 100 times softer. i know from mustangs and othere cars if you pump the clutch it tightens up it self ect. so i went in side and asked the guy who worked on the car. he said no no its spose to be liek that and had me get in a 08 rx8. it felt little softer then mine.he said my clutch pedal was so stiff because it was messed up. then why the hell would they sell me the car liek that.

come to find out this place has alot of complaints ect.

The clutch pedal is weaker in earlier models due to a poor welding joint and some people have had their pedal snap off.

Here is what it looks like when the joint snaps.
To inspect your clutch pedal, simply follow the pedal up and check the spot welds at the top and look for any cracking.
Some people actually removed the pedal and welded it all the way around instead of just spot welds.
