FD radiator suggestions? To AST or to not AST? That is the question.

ALWAYS ALWAYS AST!
There are two ways to go about it
1) The way I did it on my FC, FrankenB (Renni powered), MC's monster FB and a bunch of others.....
Rear coolant nipple, highest part on the waterpump housing, and highest part on the rad (preferably on the cold side) all go to an AST mounted on the shock tower, or some other place that makes it the highest in the cooling system. On MC's car I'm pretty sure I mounted in off the strut tower bar. All three feed into the AST, all three should be -4. The bottom is a -10 that feeds into the lower water pump housing inlet where the heater core return is.
My FC runs an FD WP housing.
FrankenB is Renni powered,
MC's FB is Cosmo powered with an FC waterpump housing.
2) The other option is more FD friendly because of mounting locations. Remove the T-Stat housing and build an AST there. The stock Tstat housing likes to trap air, by turning it into a tube, it can't anymore. The waterpump housing doesn't trap air. Feed the rear nipple and a vent from the rad into the AST, nothing gets connected to the Lower rad inlet on the waterpump housing. The AST should have a provision for the upper Rad hose
Even though my FC runs an FD WP assembly, I didn't have the room to do that because VMIC. And I think it looks better this way.
I've done this on a few FD's and doing it again on Andy Choi's car who's engine is disassembled in my shop right now. Levi's FD as well.... So yeah. Friends don't let friends run AST deletes
