Damn. how did she do that? My mother has a '96 Cherokee as well, 185k runs like a top. When it had 13k on her I got hit by an F-250 superduty moving @ 60mph. I was stopped. 4 car pile up. The front wheels wouldn't turn becuase the fenders were touching them, the nose lifted so high I hit the explorer infront of me about a foot over the bumper and when the Jeep came down ripped his rear bumper clean off, 3/4 doors wedged shut. Visible buckle in the roof, rear glass popped out etc etc. Friends of the family own a body shop and they originally totalled the truck out for $15k. I had a little conversation with them stating that 6 months earlier we bought the truck new for 18k cash (Dealer invoice was $18,800 plus deliver, but it was in Oct '96 right before the new '97 reskinned ones came out so they were deperate to move the thing) and begged them to straighten it. Reason being we would be out of pocket another $7k to buy a new '97. They actually did and 13 years and 170k later, still runs and looks awesome.

Funny how so many 7 owners also have Jeeps. Its something I've noticed time and time again over the years...

It's to balance the equation of reliability. We own rotaries, heirgo we must own something utterly reliable, hence Jeeps. It's also funny how we all own 4.0L I-6's, ASSuming DJ didn't go with the V8 in his Grand.
