Yes, RX7 Store did the install. Checkout their website
www.rx7store.net. They actually have several in progress pics of the build.

They have 1 or 2 more 20b jobs in progress now. I am very happy with the work they did.
As you'll notice, there are a lot of 20b project in progress but few 20b's on the road...that is because there is a ton of little things to do that you just don't think of going into the project. I would have never completed the project if I did it on my own. I have a demanding job and a family so the only way I could have the car is have someone else build it. PM me if I can help in anyway. Good luck.

Yeah, I saw it at DGRR, sounded beautiful too.

Sigh... I want it.

On an engine with a high VE it is not uncommon to see over 15hp-per pound of boost (in this case 18hp). There are a lot of other factors and though you most the time see gains of 10-13hp-per pound it IS possible.

You question the difference but 15 psi is 50% more than 10 psi.....

It doesn't work that way my man...... :icon_tup:

You are right, it is only 20% difference...... I would be hesitant to even use a rule of thumb since so many other factors influence hp other than boost such as AFR, timing you name it....basically the whole tune...... I just figured the guy posing the original question was calling me a liar. Thanks for the correction.

You should call Jason. I'm not sure what they are quoting now. They are building 2 3 rotor engines now. The other thing is it depends on what you already have such as intercooling, radiator, etc......

very clean!

KaiFD3S 08-08-2008 04:40 PM

Very nice, I soon to will be joining the 20B club...Can't wait...May take a couple years though to finish...LOL...

Phoenix7 08-08-2008 04:42 PM

you ARE going 20B!?!

GorillaRE 08-08-2008 04:44 PM

Why not?......He's got every other mod :)

Phoenix7 08-08-2008 04:46 PM

well, I asked him for an interview :suspect: What he'd do differently if he were to do it all over again and he said 20B. SO it's great/funny to see that he IS going 20B.

Rotory horsepower gains and air-flow

Efficiency gains in rotories never cease to amaze me when increasing airflow.
My built 3-rotor with a Borg-Warner S-400 turbo acheived a 100 horsepower gain on the dyno at 17psi when the exhaust system was simply removed at the downpipe. This was a quality exhaust with no cats, not stock! My NA 2-rotor 6port gained over 40hp by removing the cats and replacing the exhaust with an Apexi GT N1 and a K&N intake. That is on a motor that comes stock with only 148hp!

vincentrx7 08-20-2008 06:42 PM

Wow....how loud was the 3 rotor? On the flip side, I thought I would restrict hp with my airfilter but it dyno'd the same with and without....I have a 4 in exhaust TB but I do have a resonated midpipe and a CB.
Looks like you are new to the forum....Welcome.

Dan Devin 08-20-2008 08:52 PM

Thanks for the welcome. My down pipe goes from 5"down to 4". After seeing the dyno results I put an electric butterfly y pipe at the end of the downpipe and I can open it up with the flick of a little toggle switch on the console. It sounds like the hounds of hell! Unfortunately I have some motor issues right now that I haven't had time to investigate.
I also have a second gen 3-rotor with a whipple supercharger and an 850 cfm Mighty Demon carb. It is a fun car, a very simple, dependable set-up that makes a great all around car. I'm almost 54 yrs old and I shock the heck out of the boys around here when I just walk away from their prized Evos, WRX's, etc. -Love your car-very sharp!
