Maybe I'm an idiot, but I couldn't find an attachment option to PM the pics. I've attached them below---perhaps you can have a mod delete this post after you've saved the pics so it doesn't clutter up your thread. If you have questions about some of the measurements or need additional info/pics, PM me your e-mail address.

More pics...

Pic 334: Bolt Hole C/L of UIM tab to back surface of Alt.
Pic 338: Edge of oil filler tube to C/L of bolt hole on tube flange
Pic 339: Top of block to bottom of filler tube
Pic 340: OMP 2 stroke fill adapter, brass barb (hard to read measurement but it says 19/64---so I assume this is a 1/4" barb)

Hmm, same header setup as me.

Okay thanks for the pictures, one question though are you planning on running power steering or are you eliminating that whole section? Your relocating the coils right? If you are I think I have an idea to make an all in one catch/premix tank.

Power steering is staying on this one---for now. Coils will be relocated using Charlies7's brackets. One thing I didn't mention though is that the oil feed line adapter on the block will probably be replaced by a banjo fitting----not happy with the possibility of leaks on the adapter that came with my kit.

Okay, I can make a steel braided line with a bando fitting on one end. -4AN fittings? Would you be interested in that?

No A/C pump?

Sorry should have been more clear----I was talking about the turbo oil feed line---I'm going to replace the metric/-AN fitting supplied with the turbo kit (blue piece in the picture) with a banjo fitting. I thought this would be relevant because depending on how much room this takes up will depend on which way I have to point it coming off the block---which may or may not interfere with your proposed tank setup.

I think a brass barb on the bottom of your tank will be sufficient to feed the OMP adapter.

And no A/C....

Also, I don't have the rats nest, AC, or PS...so whatever needs to happen to support the lack of those...

Do you still have the coil/rats nest mounting frame in place? If you do, nothing.

It works quite well. There's been a lot of speculation on the other forum that the lines were too small, but I haven't experienced that.

After running 5 autox days and getting about halfway through a track day, the catch can was about 3/4 full. Much less oil loss than before the vents and can were added.

Emptying it is a piece of cake: jack the car up high enough to reach the hose coming through the undertray, put a bottle under it and open the petcock.

Or just drive it up ramps. I drive it up on my trailer ramps to empty it.

Okay the GB is up!

I was kind of thinking about making something like this that would hold 2 stroke oil for my rotary aviation 2 stroke oil adapter plate. I could care less where i put a catch can but that 2 stroke oil container has to be 6 inches above the adapter and there just isnt much room in our engine bays. Perhaps an integrated unit would be cool.

afgmoto1978 12-24-2008 08:16 PM

I was thinking of something along those lines, but the compromise would be available volume for both the premix and oil catch. Put yourself on the list and sent a deposit if you want one of the premix tanks.
