Side one: FB 1979-1985
Side two: FC 1986-1992
Side Three: FD 1993-1995

then on the top just have the 40th AE log on the top...

IMO that would be just AWSOME..

You could have the stuff on the faces engraved, embosed,or stickied on.

+eleventy billion

That is the best damn idea I have heard in a long time.

any update on what oil cap u are going to design?

Rotary13B1 04-09-2008 12:21 AM

I'm feeling the 40th logo with the 3 generations of RX's on the sides, maybe laser engraved!

SpooledupRacing 04-09-2008 05:27 AM

Laser engraved would be AWSOME... I hope these become available soon.. I gotta get my engine dropped in and ready for the first fire up ;)

What about a spinning rotor? The cap could be tightened with an allen wrench or raised knurled ring and the rotor could spin around the center. Also liking the generation engraving on the side..

I mean honestly I think the main focus should be about the "7"

the rx8 has become its own deal.. some 7 owners despize the 8 and alot of 8 guys I have met in person cant stand the 7....

If there is another way to incorporate the 8 into it that would be cool.. but remember there will be a 9 in what a year maybe 2

I have other ideas but I would spend all day typing them in here lol...

Well if you put 40th anniversary on the top isnt that representing the 8? I have a 7 and an 8 and I know alot of others that own both as well... I say just make them in pink so they will look good on both my cars! :)

Well since its the 40th anniversary of Mazda's Rotary engine I dont really think its a 8 specific thing.

I would agree that it is not 8 specific, but for me at least, it conjures up images of the 40th anniversary version 8.

SpooledupRacing 04-26-2008 06:58 AM

the way I look at it is it represents 40 YEARS of rotary engine/cars

So the New Oil caps might look something like these...

SpooledupRacing 04-28-2008 10:06 AM

the oil caps are going to look like the valve stem caps?.. your not going to do the 3 generations on the faces???

Rotary13B1 04-28-2008 10:44 AM

Dave, I meant the logo on top will be the same. Sides, I'm still working on.

SpooledupRacing 04-28-2008 10:53 AM

Gottcha.. thats awsome.. I like the idea...

Keep us informed!

Nutsid 05-24-2008 03:41 AM

Since you Rx8 owners are going to get your panties in a bunch, why not put the production rotaries on the sides (10A, 12A, and 13B) Maybe even put "Mazda 10A" "Mazda 12A" and "Mazda 13B" to fill in more space. Then on the top engrave something like the 40th AE logo. That way no one gets offended.

I really like the idea of the Rx7 generations on the sides. I may be an Rx8 owner as well, but how many Rx8 owners are going to be buying oil caps for their 8? My guess is not as many as Rx7 owners, and the Rx8 owners that do end up buying them will more than likely be like me and own an Rx7 as well.

I didn't notice how old this thread is. Is there any updates at all on this product?
