If there is interest for the 2003 bumper, how much would it be with canards?

Gixx6 03-24-2008 08:49 PM

I was notified of this group buy from another forum, you can count me in, but honestly I don't think there's enough people on this board to get into the buy.

Oh and I would like to request the front bumper to be produced also

What is the cost of the original kit?

AD-GT Widebody List:
1. Rated RX-7
2. KaiFD3S
3. i_am_jon
4. Gixx6

Actually the kit you are referring to is the 2002 bumper. If we do the ad-gt. the canards we will around $200-250 for carbon fiber.

The original kit price straight from Re- Amemiya is $2080.97 USD. This is right off the website. This includes the front fenders, rear fenders and side skirts.

The bumper will totally be dependent on interest. I thought members were more interested in the 2002 bumper

JKL Racing Engineering 03-24-2008 10:58 PM

Again, please remember, many Japanese tuner websites, such as RE-A, does not allow link redirection so please post the part number instead. Thanks!

We will consider offering the 02 model bumper for now since many people are interested in it. If there is also enough interest in the 05 model, then we will also consider producing it. :)

L-Spec 03-26-2008 09:58 PM

I'm interested in the '05 bumper..

CarbonFD 03-27-2008 03:08 AM

Just so people know...they do not make a front bumper undersweep for the 05 model.

Specter328 03-27-2008 08:07 AM

I'd be in for the 05 and if you made the undertray for it I would take that to.

My preference is the Yellow car. Both the bumper and the carbon. But it all depends on pricing as well. I can do $1,500 for that for sure.

Sorry for misinforming you Chris, but the 2005 does come with the undersweep. The only difference is that it does not "wrap" around the bumper like the 02 undersweep. If you look on post 30 of this thread, the blue car is a good representation of the 05 bumper and the yellow car is the 02 bumper. Again sorry for the confusion.

KaiFD3S 03-27-2008 03:07 PM

I dont know if you guys know about the 05 bumper, but those 2 added hole is for use with a brake ducting system, you can add hoses behind them that lead to your brakes to cool them down..i like the 05 better...

carbonfiber 03-27-2008 03:27 PM

Seems like everyone is trying to get their hands on this kit. I just bought the whole AD GT kit, older style N1 front bumper, carbon under sweep and carbon pro canards. Very expensive!! My car is currently at the bodyshop under going the transformation and should be done soon. Check out my build thread!

Everything is fitting perfect with little to no modding. The only problem is with a small corner of the head light covers hitting the fender slightly when the lights are opened. But I figure that RE A made the kit to work best with their sleek headlight kit. Also I the signal lights on the front bumper didnt fit very well but that was easy for the body shop guy to fix.

mdude 03-27-2008 06:13 PM

what do you mean the headlight covers hitting the fender slightly?

carbonfiber 03-28-2008 04:01 PM

I guess its kinda hard to explain. Ill have to try and get a picture of it next time im up at the shop.

20b 3rd gen 03-28-2008 10:55 PM

I would be in for the 05 bumper to replace my 02 bumper that way I only have to buy the pro-canards

JKL Racing Engineering 03-30-2008 01:58 PM

So hows the kit coming

JKL Racing Engineering 05-13-2008 12:12 AM

We already purchased the original RE-A kits and arranged for container shipping. Now we are just waiting for the ship to sail. :)

20b 3rd gen 05-14-2008 10:50 PM

great

MotoTek 05-23-2008 03:36 PM

Very interested in the hood, great price, add me to the list.

20b 3rd gen 05-30-2008 10:52 PM

hope you guy are making some good progress

20b 3rd gen 06-28-2008 05:49 PM

So hows the kit so far any pictures yet

JKL Racing Engineering 07-02-2008 08:02 PM

The factory is still working on the molds now, they will get some pics taken once the samples are all done.

MotoTek 07-10-2008 12:25 PM

Do you guys have an expected date for the finished project, I might be needing the full kit now, a little sooner than planned. The car is already at the body shop. :leaving:

Please pm me a pagake deal price for:
front bumper, fenders, quater panels, side skirts, and CF hood. :)

JKL Racing Engineering 07-10-2008 02:03 PM

If you really want a rushed order, we can rush an additional sample kit for you. So you will be getting a sample kit which means we will not be able to guarantee the fitment but we will guarantee the quality. The fitment will be exactly the same as original RE-A parts since we use brand new RE-A parts directly for molding. So if the RE-A parts have minor fitment issue then your parts will do so too. That's totally up to you! :)

0110-M-P 07-10-2008 05:29 PM

Curious what your carbon looks like. I want the hood, but need to decide between getting the FRP one painted black or getting the carbon one.

JKL Racing Engineering 07-10-2008 05:56 PM

our carbon is black in color and plain weave for default choice, but twill weave is also available. It is then coated with the heat and UV resistant clear coat.

MotoTek 07-11-2008 09:14 AM

JKL, is there anyway I can come down to SF and check it out first. Maybe pick it up while I'm down there too. I'm only a hour and a half away. (sacramento) Like I said the car is in the body shop as we speak, so that's something we might have to do.

JKL Racing Engineering 07-11-2008 03:59 PM

As many customers may already know, we are not in-house production based so all of our products are manufactured in a professional factory located in another state. SF is our storage location where we store all of the finished products and ship them out. :)

CarbonFD 07-11-2008 06:08 PM

Just to add for you Mototek I am sure if you pick up a sample kit there wont be any fitment uses that a body shop would not be able to easily adjust while its on your car... The JKL guys are just goin above and beyond by taking the head ache out of it having to be modified like any other kit you might buy so it can basically be a paint and bolt on kit. Which in my opinion is pretty freaking bad ass. They are not only going to adjust the old ones for better fitment but are making it Flexible which none of the RE stuff is which will make it less prone to cracking... So even the sample kit you would be getting is still a step up from the original RE stuff because it will be flexible. Im going to be jealous if you get a kit before me :(

Chris

MotoTek 07-11-2008 08:18 PM

Yea, I'm really stoked, the car is "vintage red" right now, and we're painting it "triple black". It's going to look mean. JKL I appreciate the emails, this is something I'm going to be picking up next week/the week after the latest, so I should be the first? :leaving: lol I wish I could have waited a little longer, but certain things came up that made the car needing to get finished asap.

As far as it needing a little more body work that's completely fine, I'm going for a show car look so the lines with be scrutinized thoroughly. I totally agree CarbonFD they are duing a great service to us FD owners that have been drooling over this kit for years. :drool5:

JKL as far as "the other people" I'm going to check what material is being used, your guys product sounds like what I'm looking for. :icon_tup:

What do you guys thinks about the Work VS-XX's. Should I get silver or black?

MotoTek 07-11-2008 08:27 PM

Also, JKL you guys are doing the front fenders with the gap, correct?

JKL Racing Engineering 07-11-2008 10:27 PM

yes, with the gap. Emailed you back. :D Good luck with the car and let us know when you decide. Thanks!

CarbonFD 07-12-2008 12:16 PM

[QUOTE=What do you guys thinks about the Work VS-XX's. Should I get silver or black?[/QUOTE]
