you may have to call cause it's a special event

hades 01-04-2011 05:16 PM

does anything happen on Friday during the day? Or on Sunday or are these mostly traveling days?

I am trying to determine if I should book Friday-Sunday or Thursday-Monday.

There's typically a Thursday night/ Friday morning midnight meet up at the lodge. I'll be traveling there Thursday.

hades 01-04-2011 06:05 PM

is sunday just a travel back home day or does anything go on?

TitaniumTT 01-04-2011 06:20 PM

There is the Skyway run on Sunday after the breakfast, then most people split and head home... or in the case of Duffman who lives damn close to you, he followed us back to the NE  Even more hardcore was Shar (forum name unknown) who drove from San Fran, and joined us in heading back to the NE.

allrotor93 01-04-2011 06:54 PM

the 3rd night is free so you might as well do 3 :)

Viperx7 01-04-2011 06:54 PM

There has also been talk of a possible convoy down to the Mitty at Road Atlanta on Sunday.

I booked my lodging, but by phone. Had no issues getting the discount or the free extra night.

reddozen 01-05-2011 04:13 PM

If you don't get your confirmation email, there is now a manual confirmation button under the registration button. You'll need the email you used to register for the event.

FerociousP 01-05-2011 04:25 PM

I am not authorized to be there! lol.

FerociousP 01-05-2011 04:41 PM

Now if I could just get authorized to use the turn arounds on the interstate.

rxtasy3 01-06-2011 07:17 PM

registered yesterday and got the cabin booked today at nantahala villige. now to put in for that thurs and fri off work. really looking forward to my 2nd event. last yr was a blast.

Proxy One 01-07-2011 11:40 AM

I booked my cabin yesterday and they said id get a confirmation email, I havent, did anyone get one and how long after you booked did you get it? Was there a break down of the costs?

rxtasy3 01-07-2011 01:34 PM

it's a weather problem that they're currently having. the guy i talked to said they had like 2" of ice there and was actually dealing with booking from his home so don't know what limitations is having since he wasn't actually at the lodge.

willnordacgreen1211 01-09-2011 01:40 AM

Herblenny 01-09-2011 08:40 PM

hades 01-10-2011 04:55 PM

I am registered, where is a link to this map?

hades 01-10-2011 05:18 PM

allrotor93 01-10-2011 07:33 PM

just paid for 2 more guests

hades 01-11-2011 04:58 PM

got my confirmation - now for plane tickets.

TitaniumTT 01-11-2011 05:32 PM

Drive you pussy!

hades 01-11-2011 06:19 PM

nah.
This way I can come fresh and ready to drink - and not after a 16+ hours in the car in the size of a coffin.

TitaniumTT 01-11-2011 07:26 PM

awe........ boobbyyyy..... It's worth the drive to drive your own car down the dragon. Drinking can still happen, and in fact, seems to progress faster after a drive like that

hades 01-11-2011 07:35 PM

I might - I have a few months to decide. I won't buy tickets until the beginning of march.

I was going to offer to flight out to CT and car pool down with you. But then I remembered that I dont like pushing cars  :cheers2:

TitaniumTT 01-11-2011 07:41 PM

HEY! That car never had to get pushed once on that trip! But shit, if you're game, there's a few big caravans that head down from the NE.... and we're hoping to pick up two more on the way heading back north.

hades 01-11-2011 07:56 PM

could happen. See whats what in a few weeks. But it I think a road trip would be fun.

TX-->CT-->TN--CT-->TX - probably not the most direct route. :dunno:

how far is the trip for you?

TitaniumTT 01-11-2011 08:08 PM

A short 14 hrs from me in CT. substract maybe 90-120 minutes if you fly into Newark. JFK or LGA wouldn't save any time. But, there's the trip through Manhattan :dunno:

hades 01-11-2011 08:15 PM

I will have to check flight and rental prices. What is your closest air port? If I flight up there I am coming up a day or two early.

TitaniumTT 01-11-2011 09:29 PM

closest is Westchester County, ~25 minutes away. Next would be JFK or LGA, 45-60 minutes away, then Newark 60-90 minutes away, and then there is always that one in Hartford CT.... 90 minutes away... wtf is the name of that?? Bradley! Bradley international.

Fly in, cruise down, cruise back, or I know there are some people from your area that are DRIVING to DGRR. I'm sure we could hook ya up with a ride back with them as opposed to 14 hrs to the NE and then a plane ride back to TX.

Kane 01-11-2011 11:00 PM

TT, are you guys planning to roll through VA?

Maybe we can link up convoys?

TitaniumTT 01-12-2011 12:17 AM

Yeah Kane, route is usually 287 up and around through Jersey, pick up 78 through PA with a stop off @ Daves, pick up 81 for almost 530 miles and then rt 40 for a stint and then a ton of backroads.

I might be hooking up with WE3RX7 Wednesday night and then rolling down with him and a few of his buddies.

Where in VA are you? I'd love to have an epic caravan. Maybe the guy from Halifax will head on down, my neighborhood was a good stopping point for him too. This needs to be epic, whatever it is.
