This is an amazing build! I definitely like the custom eccentric shaft, do you intend to use 13b intermediate plates or 20b intermediate housings for the end rotors?

Awesome build!

Keep up the good work.

The plan is to use 13B-parts. But we are thinking a bit of doing own intermeditate plates... But thats only a dream this far.

though i know it's been done before, that would be far out.

WOW is all I can say. I would LOVE to do a 4 rotor in a '68 Charger.... Hell I would out a 4 rotor in ANYTHING for that matter. All this does is solidify the fact that I need to get some machinery and learn how to use it.

Tegheim 05-14-2011 03:22 PM

Thank you all, stay tuned, I will try really hard to find some time to do some work on the shaft and then updates!!
Sorry for the delay!

Best Regards
Tegheim

Wow. I can't believe you made your own brake disc hats, let alone the suspension from scratch! The old tank Volvo's bring back memories. Personally, I can't wait for the sound of the 4 rotor. When it's all done, promise you'll post a vid of it!!!

Its a sad sad day when a man
needs to try really hard
to find the time
to work on his shaft

:smilielol5:

Still looks incredible though

They was maybe the easiest part of the whole project so far :P
Just playing you man :)

Welcome back :)

Tegheim 08-30-2011 03:46 PM

Well, the year goes againt darker times here in Sweden. Luckily that means more time inside the garage, workshop and with the computer.
Last week I got Solidworks 2011, and startet tonight to practice. It's not much, but I'm satisfied with the result.

The CAD shows my 184mm Tilton clutch. Soon, there will be blo... cnc-porn? :)

my god, my dick is so fucking hard right mow. I wish there were more pics to beat off too.

Mazdabater 09-03-2011 02:59 AM

I can't believe your fabricating the clutch up for it too. That shits insane.

Tegheim 09-03-2011 06:19 AM

Mja, I really don't should fabricate my own clutch :)
I already have this clutch, but you never know when you need to create something.
This assembly was just for training in Solid Works acctualy.

Right know I'm sitting in Solid Works and bulid some Brake Calipers though.
Hopefully I will have my own 330mm Calipers :)

Tegheim 09-03-2011 08:08 AM

Not much, but a start at the front-brake-issue...

Hopefully I will be able do to make my own brake-calipers.

So... just out of curiosity are you making the irons as well as the housings? Or are you pulling those parts from other engines like the 13B/20B? Are you going to offer the EShaft for sale eventually?

I'm just curious as that would stop me from having to re-invent the wheel when I'm ready to do this.

No, I will not make any irons or housings. Just the E-shaft and the parts that will need to be done to start :)
I will not sell the shaft then, or the blueprints. You'll never know when you need to have these blueprints in the locker :)

Mazdabater 09-13-2011 02:58 AM

There is a joint over here that sells quad rotors, was very amazed to see one when I was down at WTAC. They do some other weird shit though as theirs is only 50mm longer then a 20b the guy said. I didn't find out how much it was though, he told me that it comes as a package with g/box and shit.

Tegheim 09-23-2011 11:37 AM

Have made my own tool for the little jack into the loosen shaft-parts. Don't know the english word for it.

3.40mm wide and 5.70mm deep. Then put an insert for a lathe there, tada! :)

http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0645.jpg

Tegheim 09-24-2011 04:09 AM

I have now google-translated to explain myself :)

This tool I will put into my CNC-mill. Lock the spindel still. Then I will "shave" of the material inside the lose shaft-parts to make the KEYWAY :)
Yesterday the word "keyway" wasn't in my head, soo I used the word jack ;)

Tegheim 09-25-2011 03:42 AM

This picture maybe help you all understand what I'm about to try out.
This is an 20B-front just for show.

I will now make an fixture to hold the same of mine, the with the spindle off, cut about 0.1mm at time i stages untill i got the right keyway.

http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0652.jpg

Tegheim 09-25-2011 05:19 AM

First attempt!

Have done a keyway in a test-piece. Works fine! And now I will continue with the fixture for the real deal...

Movie on the way!

730RWHP12A 09-25-2011 09:51 AM

very impressive build! i like your choice of volvo too!! my first car was a 122S :)

MaczPayne 09-27-2011 02:49 PM

Nice, CNC broacher!

Tegheim 10-01-2011 04:07 AM

Time for a little update!
Sadly my HTC Desire isn't the best camera in workshop-lights...

Have finally got along with the Keyway!

First, I did new irons to the vise (correct name? Google translate)
They are mounted from the inside with M10-bolts
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0677.jpg

A hole at 43.61mm, and an Radius 6.0mm to give clearance for Radius 5.0mm on the eccentric.
This is not bored, so the surface is just roughed yet.
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0681.jpg

Exact precision!
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0682.jpg

Like a glove! :)
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0683.jpg

Indication of a cam, I have my zero point where I did the fixture, so then you have easy track of the eccentric theory should lie on the X 15.0mm Y0.0mm.
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0688.jpg

A final inspection of the tool. Indicates the track of the tool in the X-axis, thus I know that it is angled precisely 90grd.
Using the M-code M19 in the machine, so I lock the spindle in the same place every time.
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0690.jpg

This is what working out, it will actually go much faster, when the cutting speed in such a cut is about 80-120m/min, ie as soon as it will go through the material. Easy as it spins to get the cutting speed, but now the cut stands still. So I drive 2m/min:) or F2000.0 as many may know. Takes just 0.1mm per insert to avoid accidents in my fine pieces :)

Results! Keyway on 5.00-5.01mm width, and depth with little clearance.
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0693.jpg
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/IMAG0694.jpg

MaczPayne 10-04-2011 03:07 PM

I like this.

"First, I did new irons to the vise (correct name? Google translate)"

We call these "soft tooling" since they're made of softer material that's easy to machine.
