Sorry to hear man.... that really sucks.. good looking car. I don't understand though... salvage title maybe? Or, in CT anyway, if you store a car on your property for 90 days, it CAN be titled to you regardless. They do this for people that skip out on mechanics/bodyshop bills etc etc. Maybe try that route? |

I just found out this afternoon that there is a way to get the documents I need to title the 1984 here in TN. All it is going to cost me is a half day off work, and $1 cash. AND! The black one should be resolved as well. The guy I got it from just got the title today, and is going to mail it to me tomorrow. So things have kinda done a 180 since I posted this. The Rotary Gods are looking out for me. |

Both titles have been resolved.
The black car's title is in the mail, and they grey car's title will be in my possession Monday. WIN! Thread back on track. Sadly, because of the delay in getting these squared away, no further work has been done on them. As such, I do NOT feel safe/comfortable driving the 84 to DGRR. And I don't have anymore time to wrench on them. So, I'll either be there in the Swagger Wagon, or hitch a ride. |

Picked up some more goodies.
New inside door panels, new door pull cups, new driver side interior door handle, hatch seal, sunroof seal, rear cargo light with carpet. Still looking for an upgraded radiator, Taurus fan, fan controller, and some other small items here and there. Now I just have to put it all together. |
Well, nobody brought me a sunroof to DGRR, so I am stuck with a rusted steel roof until I find something. Fail.

I have decided to boost this little 12a until it blows. I am getting an S4 turbo and manifold, and fabricate a 12a-->13b adapter for the exhaust. I already have an RE-Speed pedestal for oil supply, and will tap the front cover for return.
I have another thread asking what it takes to boost prep an RB Holley, so far with no useful responses. The Holley Blue pump I have is enough, but I am either going to need a rising rate FPR, or modify the Holley FPR I already have. A local guy has a turbo hat for the carb (assuming we can use the Holley). Question: where should I source the coolant feed/return for the turbo on the 12a block? |
Wow sounds like a fun project DJ. TN needs more boosted FBs.

Racing Beat finally got back to me about boosting the Holley. They said that nobody has asked them that before (find that hard to believe) and they recommended finding a wrecked TII and swap everything over. Gee thanks for the info!
But, I have found some solid info on boost prepping the Nikki, and apparently it can provide quite a bit of power. So that is my new route. I need to get my hands on a turbo, I have one potential deal, but it might be a crap turbo. |

"No, we never have. In any case, I strongly recommend against a carbureted turbo engine. They are difficult to tune and tend to be erratic in performance. If you want a turbo, I suggest you buy a wrecked turbo and transplant the engine/trans/PCM into your chassis. I assure you that the mechanical problems with the installation are easier than the tuning would be, and the results will likely be better. Jim Mederer" I replied that I strongly disagree, but since they have little confidence in their carb, neither do I. So I am boost prepping the Nikki instead. I bet I don't get a reply. |
