My range in the FC on the highway is about 350 miles, +/-. Last year I left home with an almost full tank, had my 1st fill-up with about 1/8 tank left maybe 1/2 way thru VA, and would have made it all the way to NHV with my low fuel idiot light on, but I filled up at that last gas station in town before hitting NHV, since it was my 1st time there and I didn't know how much farther I had to go. Total trip was about 685 miles. Weird thing is that DGRR return home trip was the best mileage I EVER recorded on my FC - I got 24.9 MPG out of my last tank.

Good question. Not a smoker my self, but, when the US cruise ships are in town (we're one of the biggest ports on the east cost) a lot of stores will have the "We sell Cuban Cigars" signs out front for the American tourists, so they are certainly available.

Well if you happen to find yourself in the vicinity of a cigar shop I would def take 10 or so good quality cubans. If not no worries.

I don't have any, but what's the range on those things? Good for at least a couple of miles?

TitaniumTT 04-16-2011 09:47 AM

Some claim like 30+ miles. Now I doubt that they'll have a 30+ mile range int he mt's, but on the rd in a pretty straight line I suppose, maybe, doubtful. I've got one... yeah I know, I like to talk to myself sometimes, but I'll pick up a pair or two.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo we all still cool with the plan?

Redshft 04-25-2011 07:34 AM

Too late to turn back now. We hit the road at 7:30 tomorrow morning.

Pete_89T2 04-25-2011 07:46 AM

I'm good with the plan, but just need a cell # to contact you guys incase I arrive at the meeting point in VA way too early and decide to press on solo. Ditto if I'm running late - don't want to slow anyone down.

2 of mine claim 27 mile range. That means that on a clear day with perfect humidity with one person standing on a mountain made of conducting wires running the direction of the person in the valley jacking off to an FCC publication, that they have line of site too, you might get 27 miles lol.

If I leave my house, go maybe a mile down the road and behind any concrete it goes away. I live in hillsylvania though (we don't technically even have mountains but we sure as shit have hills).

They do well if you have line of sight though.

I don't know what the other two claim as far as range, as they are my roomies, but I believe we are free to use them.

Sleep time now.
See everybody in morning. (and we have a bunch of those radios between us.)

WE3RX7 04-28-2011 04:15 AM
