Yeah he also put a towel over it at nationals.

TitaniumTT 01-23-2014 09:31 AM

Jeez man..... noise restrictions @ Limerock are 86/89 db.... I had no problem with a 4" split into 3" *2 and then only 2 Magnaflow cans..... what cans are you using?

rx7 vinnie 01-23-2014 10:13 AM

MagnaFlow after header then a small Borla round then an HKS tail muffler. It doesn't help I tach the car past 10k either. It sounds wicked though.

TitaniumTT 01-23-2014 10:43 AM

I think the HKS is your problem.... I did an engine job on an FD and we didn't have the new exhaust system in house yet. So I started the car up without a catback or even the cat on it.... we all know what shit that sounds like.... the new "muffler" didn't change the tone at all and I swear it made it louder....

rx7 vinnie 01-23-2014 10:49 AM

So what do you recommend as a final exhaust muffler?... I'll try anything so I don't get any flack from the old geezers and so called bad asses that run our SCCA region.

TitaniumTT 01-23-2014 11:03 AM

I like Magnaflows, but you need to run an offset design to get any real noise reduction. My favorite muffler is a turbo though :D

rx7 vinnie 01-23-2014 12:01 PM

I'll probably get another 3" Magna-flow and a turn down tip..... They look like limp dicks.

chibikougan 01-23-2014 01:44 PM

Supertrapp!

reddozen 01-23-2014 02:42 PM

Must do:
- Fix door handle and key fob
- Replace split airbag cover
- Replace console cover
- Relocate battery
- Relocate and replace overflow tank with aluminum tank
- Make tray replacement for radiator flow where battery and air box were.
- Rotate tires left to right (stupid staggered wheels)
- Replace steering rack
- Alignment

Money Dependent:
- Misc PDR dents
- Address clear coat / paint issues
- Replace front fenders
- Finial tune on the Bridge Port

Boredom:
- Wire tuck

85rx-7gsl-se 01-23-2014 03:01 PM

I think the lack of turbo is what makes Vinnies car so loud lol

rx7 vinnie 01-23-2014 03:08 PM

Meh...pop the hood and see a Weber people be like WAT?

TitaniumTT 01-23-2014 03:17 PM

Just don't store it next to the FC, it's liable to get Christine'd.

Still lots to do on mine. Need to get the rest of the shock mounts and lower cradle done so I can reinstall the drivetrain, et al. Running out of time. :ack2:

djmtsu 01-24-2014 06:57 AM

Still waiting on parts for the Cosmo. Delivery from Atkins should be here today.

If only the temperature would come up a little. Cold steel hurts on my fragile hands.

Working a lot of overtime lately and saving money for a haltech re for 91 rx7 with a turbo swap. If I can find a built rew for my 93 rx7 in time I'd rather be working on that. Hoping to make it with a rotary this year!

I have the RX8 back. Now just have to decide whether I want to try and retune on Cobb AP or risk staying with the eManage a little while longer.

rx7 vinnie 04-09-2014 11:05 AM

It's BS but what do I do?

FC Zach 04-10-2014 12:50 AM

Mine is pretty simple, just have to check air pressure/rotate tires, apply Auto wrap protective film to front of car and check/top off fluids. :auto:

85rx-7gsl-se 04-10-2014 06:46 AM

Damn Vinnie that hella sucks.

That happened to me for DGRR 2013. The Hulk doesn't even reach that level of angry.
Tell the people at work that all the media on the latest shootings and stabbings is just simply fascinating... Maybe they will take the subtle hint.

I should just not show up at work..... After all my toolbox does have wheels and isn't a permanent fixture here. Lol

djmtsu 04-11-2014 07:53 AM

Tell you boss that if you have to work, he needs to reimburse you for all the precious memories you're going to miss out on.

Emotional trauma....

Or, tell him to fuck off, because you were already scheduled off.

reddozen 04-14-2014 06:27 PM

well.... broken radiator... more work to do...

Left rear caliper won't bleed.

FUCK.

85rx-7gsl-se 04-15-2014 04:57 PM

Damn son.

djmtsu 04-15-2014 06:22 PM

If it ain't one thing, its another. Spent most of the day trying to track down someone who could boil the fuel tank, or whatever. No luck. So, its a pressure washer and acetone for me.

Might need to buy stock in fuel filters.
