I dunno what exactly you're alluding to but as long as there is a method to the madness then just rock on! You have to enter it the next round though.

P71 07-21-2008 06:31 PM

I know why, and it's worth it.

I'll PM Phil about getting you guys re-votes.

Somebody please post a link here in the Lounge.

You know, I'm not a basher of V8 swaps, in fact I like them. But seriously, this has less right to be in this vote than Phil or Kai's cars. Look at the thread name ROTM(Rotary of the Month). Where is the rotary in this car?

Sorry traynham.houston, maybe if it was a Swap of the Month vote or something like that. :(

85rx-7gsl-se 07-22-2008 03:06 PM

Ouch :( Though you do have a point....Though my issues isn't with the fact its swapped, its that fact its half-torn apart right now. To me, a ROTM needs to be 95-100% complete.

djmtsu 07-22-2008 03:29 PM

Wicked burn!

N.RotaryTech 07-22-2008 03:51 PM

This round of ROTM is partly full of fail.

:dunno: I will not take any credit away from any car that wins Rotary Of The Month.

i utterly disagree.

85rx-7gsl-se 07-22-2008 04:50 PM

And thats why this is a forum :D

Though I am surprised you do not feel a non-rotary powered car winning Rotary Of The Month is ironic.

well, if it wins it'll be more funny than Ironic. BTW, When he's done he'll do a comparo between both his FDs. SO keep an eye out for that.

85rx-7gsl-se 07-22-2008 05:01 PM

I will ;)

P71 07-22-2008 08:24 PM

RIDE of the Month

Did I make myself clear enough yet?

Phoenix7 07-22-2008 09:05 PM

Didn't it start as Rotary Of The Month?? :dunno: whatever you think will help the V8 rx7's.

Phoenix7 07-22-2008 09:31 PM

also, can we make sure the owner of DREGG's old car is on here???

Me not hating on V8 swaps ;)

Phoenix7 07-22-2008 10:36 PM

I'm over hating the v8 swaps. I'm actually eagerly waiting for traynham to finish it so he can do a thorough comparison. That's why I like this style of voting. I know more V8 guys will come here eventually and who knows, maybe a rotary CAN lose this coveted title (come on, the past months have set the bar and this month is no different). Until then I will continue to guarantee that no V8 will win "Rotary" or "Ride" of the month here.

My5ABaby 07-23-2008 06:22 AM

Although I would prefer to see a rotary win, if the swapped car is nice enough, then I'm all for it. It's always nice seeing any original rotary vehicle being taken care of. I'd rather see an FD, FC, FB, etc. with a V8 in it than in a junkyard.

As for traynham's car... really? It seems it might have promise, but as of now, it looks like something pulled out of a junkyard. There's no reason for that to be in ride of the month voting. But, it's not getting votes so it all works out. :D Now, once it's finished, I would have no problem voting for it despite there being a V8... if it was the best looking/best put together.

P71 07-23-2008 07:14 AM

Nobody bothered to nominate any FD's so his Work in Progress got a spot.

Well in that case, power to it.

lt1_fd3s 07-23-2008 08:05 AM

My nominating of my v8 swap car was partly as a joke and to see if i would get any votes (heck, just to make it to the poll is all i wanted to do!). More of a joke on the current state of the body of the car, instead of the engine. I did ask P71 if ROTM was "ride" or "rotary" and as he has said, it's "ride". With the picture I have shown, unless you read my signature or know me and had P71 not put on the first page it is a swap car, I do not think you could tell. Also, most of the pictures submitted for nominations were exterior shots of the car. Most the voting will be based on what the car looks like, not what engine or engine set up it has, unless you know the car.

So why else did I put an unfinished car up for nomination? How many of us have a car that is currently in the process of being modified, upgraded, and/or fixed? How often do our cars sit, not running? I'm sure most of us would say our cars are never finished, there is always something to be done, so the requirement of a 95%-100% finished will never happen. :)

Do I take this poll seriously? What does the ROTM owner get? Phil has mentioned turning this into a calendar. Of course, we now have the restriction of professional grade pictures...not all of us are that skilled and/or may not know someone who's skilled...so we may have an awesome car, but because we can't get great pictures of it, we can't win. I would like to think that RCC in some way helps the ROTM owners get professional quality pictures of their car for the calendar. It could be as simple as another member taking the pictures...i dont know!

As it's been said, no other FDs were nominated, so mine stayed.

here are two older pictures of my car:

I don't (and never did) expect to be the ROTM with my red car. I'm really hoping that once it is finished, I can be a featured car at DGRR one year!

and which car is dregg100's old car??

You're right. I didn't realize it till after I voted but I still didn't vote for it. You would have gotten away with it if you had mounted the front end and fenders though.

just take better pictures of the cars. I don't think Herblenny wants you to go out and contract a photog for pics but a decent pic is mandatory.

I didn't know we HAD to have 10 cars to vote. I figured a good 5 or 6 will keep things interesting. I don't know what happened this month, just a lot of deleting, additions and extra stuff that wasn't necessary.

what front end and fenders are you going to use?

If you're done with both your cars would you enter them both as one entry? or two entries?

Also, Dregg just posted so he's the owner of the wingless silver FD, right?

Dregg should post in ZGN's thread. He's looking for a pimp-looking Silver FD!!!

this is strange...I voted for me and Nexis voted for me...(we did screen shots to show that my name was italicized on both of us logged in...) but it says i only have one vote!?!?!?

Someone is trying to keep me from winning!

Phoenix7 07-25-2008 12:44 PM

:dunno: P71 would know better, or maybe an admin.

Phoenix7 07-25-2008 01:58 PM

well, I pretend like I do and then send you elsewhere.

The voting must be accurate at all times and if there is an issue it must be addressed. We don't want people to say it's not a legitimate race.

88turboii 07-25-2008 04:02 PM

its a conspiracy!

P71 07-27-2008 04:17 PM

I don't actually have MOD status in this forum, so I'm as lost as you guys.

Phil deleted his own car because as owner he doesn't need to be the ROTM.

Kai's car was deleted for a reason (yes Kai knows) that will soon be known publicly and is very worth it.

FD's wanted 2-3 months next year but we had to work for Nominations whereas the FB and FC ones rolled in. We'll see how next month (RX-8) goes.

I'll be doing the calender setup using the ROTM's (and some surprises) for this year, and if it goes well, in coming years.

I wonder if RotaryBeat has some free time.

Thanks for the compliments! Yeah I would love to help you guys out in anyway that I can. I would love a chance to redeem myself from the sucktastic job of picture taking I did @ DGRR this year. lol.

Let me know exactly what you guys want if you want a little write-up or something. Just hit me up and I'll be glad to put in my .02. I'm no professional. Just a person that has dreams of making it big and shooting for a living you know. haha. That would be amazing and seems so far out of reach. lol.

P71 07-27-2008 10:47 PM

Yes, you do! :D

Talk to Phil ;)
