Yes the higher comp rotors are gonna give you much better low end response and OBVISOUSLY can handle boost up to 18psi on 91 octane...my old motor proved that. :) I just like to play it safe now and for good reason.

Let me know Kyle if you want help doing a price break down. I also Have a lot of misc parts around my gargage that are in great shape: Oil control rings, corner seal eyelets, oil pumps, CAS's, Rear gears, front gears, oil pans, injector diffusers, ect ect.

I even have a S4 TII front cover for ya!

yeah sean help with price break down would be awesome. btw im gettin the rotors and irons from matt for 350 total. like i said i want to take measurements and what not first. HOWEVER i have some good news. im going to pick up my car this weekend so i can bring it back here and pull the engine and tranny so i can get it prepped for paint. if all goes according to plan ill have it in the shop right after school starts. guess what that means?! PICTURES AND LOTS OF THEM! im hoping to get the honda paid for with my financial aid refund checks so then i can gather the money to pay for the body work ( which im going to get done for very cheap since im doing it myself) ill keep ya posted!

project86 08-23-2009 01:31 PM

ok guys.. today is the day. im going to get my car at 3 (its 12:30 now). Im not sure if ill get anything pulled today but when i finally do ill get some pics up. its dirty as hell under there. its probably gonna be a huge pain in my ass when i go to clean during paint prep.

Sean, do i NEED an s5 harness or can i use my s4 one. i know im gonna have to use s5 uim and lim because the irons matt has are s5. but i should still be able to use my coils and some other stuff right? im obviously not ready to purchase this stuff since im gonna do paint first but i wanna get all my ducks in a row. :)

Good stuff man! White will look bad ass!!

project86 08-25-2009 11:41 PM

im pretty stoked for it. the only thing thats gonna stop it from pearl is if i have to do a tri coat. im hoping there is just a base/clear option. lll know soon. i am gonna learn tri coats this year but either way ill be happy to have a dent free ride. i still NEED a s5 front bumper cover...a cheap one lol.

Ok... i got ALOT of my dirty bitch cleaned today. you can actuallly see the front subframe:rofl:. more paint details.. ill be using glasurit. and now pictures of how much cleaner it is after today. hopefully you can tell a big difference now compared to the pics of when i pulled the engine and tranny.

project86 09-03-2009 02:17 PM

oh and .... im really thinkin about just choppin my harness right now so i can just get the bastard out of the way... good idea or bad. im not going to use it if i go pfc or haltech. but both of those should be able to still power headlights and all that other misc. electronic stuff yes?

prrex4ever 09-03-2009 06:55 PM

Awesome project, a labor of love.

project86 09-18-2009 12:05 AM

^^thanks! and yes LOTS of labor. Alright all... so i have the engine bay pretty damn clean now. it does still need to be sanded and or scotch brote haha because of the peeling paint caused by my shitty bms when i first got the car. i currently have all the glass masked off for the time being and have started removing adhesive with the "crud thug". tomorrow ill begin hittin the paint with a grinder( HELL YA IM READY TO DO SOME BODY WORK!!!) i will post pics later, sometime tomorrow im sure i just dont have the motivation to do it now. i had a rough day and i just dont effin feel like it.. i woke up a 6:18 am to what i could have sworn was a car wreck outside my apt... until i walked into my bathroom and realized the ceiling caved in........:cuss: needless to say i was PISSED!! i call bullshit on shitty oldass apts.:icon_bs:

project86 09-18-2009 12:09 AM

oh and i forgot to say that now im arguing with myself over color now....it makes me sad... i cant decide on pearl white or the new addition... black cherry mica.... maybe i should take a poll. or maybe i should learn photoshop so i can create this shit. :)

TitaniumTT 09-18-2009 06:02 PM

Black shows all your sins my friend.

project86 09-18-2009 11:46 PM

ya.... i was thinkin that too.... it would be more of a dark purple. but still... i get it. i promise ill post pics soon

project86 09-24-2009 11:50 PM

so i did some custom fab today and some kid that thinks he is from the future tried to tell me how to weld and i wanted to punch him in the farkin face. anyway, i removed my antenna and i was gettin a piece of sheet metal cut to fit the hole. i know ive been promising pics and they will be on soon. im sure you all understand how busy we can get. 30+ hours of work plus full time credits at the college can get kinda rough

FC3S Murray 09-25-2009 07:17 AM

Credits may be ruohg BUT worth it. Shit, you are building your car WHILE earning a degree! Be very happy bro, u are fortunate.

Pic on my cell looked great. Get some high res loaded here. Btw what are you doing sunday?

project86 09-26-2009 01:39 AM

sunday i dont think im doing anything..... whats up?

FC3S Murray 09-26-2009 11:30 AM

actually nothing now. I ended up using a 2''x 4'' and an empty Castrol 5qt jug instead of you to help flush my master cylinder. lol.

I dont have the clutch chatter issue anymore. The old DOT 3 fluid was pure black! Still we should do a get togther tonight or something. Text me

project86 09-27-2009 09:10 PM

SEAN! we missed you last night beer and wii was awesome!! haha its ok though cause i completely understand why you didnt come and i would have done the same thing ;). ok ... here are the long awaited pictures of the work i have been doing. it may not look like much but i dont actually get to dedicate all my time in the shop to my car only.

project86 09-27-2009 09:15 PM

this was basically initial clean up (obviously) as you can see my bms raped the paint on the drivers side so that was a big mess. its still not completely cleaned.....

this is the welding and spark paper on the glass and the re-effin-diculous amount of filler that i had to grind off the damn door from the people that did the last (what looked to be) 4 repair jobs. someone apparently halfass welded around the door handle which caused me headache but i got it handled now:icon_tup:

project86 09-27-2009 09:23 PM

damn....haha

project86 09-28-2009 10:55 PM

i love the smell of filler......

project86 09-29-2009 11:13 AM

hey... if someone could answer this real quick for me i would appreciate it. is there a difference in the turbo hood latch spring and the na hood latch spring since the na hoods are steel and the turbo ones are alum. im tryin to fit my cf hood and i cant get the fucker to latch.

djmtsu 09-29-2009 12:00 PM

Don't know for sure....but I can tell you I have had a TII hood on my NA latch for 5 years now without issue.

Might be something wrong with the hood? Maybe the latch, or hinges need adjusting.

need RX7 09-29-2009 03:27 PM

I have heard that before. I swapped latches when I swapped hoods between my 2 cars to be safe.

TitaniumTT 09-29-2009 03:57 PM

check the parts fiche to see if they are a different number, I doubt that they are but ya never know. I've seen stranger shit. More than likely it's a defect in the CF hood.

project86 09-30-2009 12:02 AM

well i know the piece on the hood is lining up. i looked some more and the tension on the spring is just so high that it wont close by just droppin it like normal. i could probably push it, and i tried, but it was flexing alot so i opted not to. talked to a friend today too about it and he said he had the same problem so he just replaced the spring with a lighter one which is what i think ill do as soon as i have time. Thanks for all the input.

project86 10-01-2009 12:30 AM

so i replaced the spring today and now it shuts with no problem. i will need hoodpins however. im lookin at the aerocatch flush mounts. any word ont them?

TitaniumTT 10-01-2009 06:46 AM

LOVE EM

Just really REALLY take your time mounting them up as you only get one chance to cut a hole that big in your hood.

You can see where I mounted mine. I started by taping off the area where I wanted to mount them and measuring out where the center line would be. Measured where the pin would come throug, lined it up with the support and made a mark. Measured the distance tot he the top, the bottom, did some math based on the diameter of the the two rounds, drew them up triple checked everything and then used two different hole saws for the top and bottom and a cut-off wheel to cut out the remaining.

You'll have to trim the supports on the underside of the hood to be able to get to the nuts.

Make sure you get the locking kind. I've come out to my car in the past to find the alarm tripped and one of the latches was attempted to be opened.

I love them, absolutely love them. I've heard alot of people talk poorly of them, then I come to find out they installed them in 20 minutes as opposed to the probably 4 hours that I spent. In other words, in-correct installation will result in sucky latches.

FC3S Murray 10-01-2009 07:15 AM

What was the verdict on the hood color Kyle? I can't remeber if you were gonna paint it or clear it? Those aerocatch's look badass. After seeing them on Brians FC I was sold, if I ever get an aftermarket hood(very soon with a couple extra goodies this winter) they would be the ones I order.

Good progress bro! Keep it up you lucky SOB

project86 10-03-2009 04:30 AM

hood color is gonna stay cf. im gonna re clear it with the parrot though:001_005:
