Holly and Jeremy are coming up from Atlanta, they will be leaving out of Atlanta about 7:30 and getting up here about 10:30 to meet up with us.

Does that fit within your schedule? Or should we meet at that spot a little later? 10:30 or so?

and then:

Try PMing ROTORX7Holly. She's coming up with Jeremy I believe and is meeting up at 191 with for the drive out on Saturday.

Ok I see Traynham beat me too it. Anyway, they're out of ATL.

t_g_farrell 10-21-2009 08:22 AM

Whose coming from Charlotte?

I was thinking of heading west on 73 and taking 321 to 40 and over to
Asheville. Probably leave around 5:45 a.m. to get to breakfast at 8.

Let me know if anyone wants to caravan up with me. I can adjust my
time to meet up with folks if needed. I know a bunch from S.C. are
heading up but I'm not sure what they're route will be.

BigIslandSevens 10-21-2009 08:48 AM

Tim, If we end up going you can swing by my place or I can meet you in Denver @150/16. I go to 40 via 16. Takes the same amount of time as hitting 321 in Lincolnton;) I hate being a contract worker. We always get screwed fist when bill time comes. Makes budgeting real fun:( Anywho. I'll know Friday at the latest. I'll call you then one way or the other. I really want to go.

I texted Robbie yesterday about the cruise, haven't heard back. I will try him again. Stu said he was trying to go. But I do not believe his car will be back together by then. But he may have buttoned it up.Or he may steal the Miata I would imagine.

t_g_farrell 10-21-2009 08:54 AM

Dave sounds good. I haven't heard from Stu yet. I think he's still busy piecing things back together.

lt1_fd3s 10-21-2009 09:16 AM

yeah, they will miss breakfast, I guess they want to sleep in some...

t_g_farrell 10-21-2009 09:39 AM

Speaking of eating, what kind of things can we bring for the camp dinner Sat?

Should we start a list of who's bringing what on the main page of this thread?

lt1_fd3s 10-21-2009 11:23 AM

One guy is bring a grill, they have fire pits at the camp sites. I believe alcohol is allowed for those who are old enough, details on that are on the camp sites website.

personally I was planning to run into cherokee to grab grillable food sat after getting to the camp site.

ROTORX7Holly 10-22-2009 12:10 AM

I got Chocolate, Grahams & Marshmallows for Smores. Also got some hot dogs and buns.

Should we bring anything for hot breakfast on Sunday morning?

Kevin, if you want to drive over to Atlanta and stay here on Friday night, we all can grab some breakfast before we leave Saturday morning. Jeremy and I just voted not to get up at the buttcrack of dawn to drive up there.

ZGN 10-22-2009 12:37 AM

I am going to shoot for a 1am central departure time and try to make it to CB by 8:30am

Tray how many are meeting at CB?

t_g_farrell 10-22-2009 07:29 AM

I can bring some pasta salad.

So Holly what time is the "buttcrack of dawn" anyway?

List of folks for CB i know: Jamin, Toby, Bryan, Rico, Cory, Tim, and myself.

Kevin, if you want to come up Friday, you can sleep at the house with everyone else... its like an after party, but before the event...

Holly, as for breakfast, last year we rode into Cherokee and found an all you can eat breakfast buffet. But if we want to eat at the camp site, I'm good for that.

I was also thinking that when we get back into Asheville we would hit up an ice cream place where a friend works before we all go our separate ways.

t_g_farrell 10-22-2009 07:56 AM

I plan on being at the breakfast. If I'm on my own I'll be there no later than 8:30.

BigIslandsSeven (Dave) may make it, he will give me a call tomorrow if its for certain or not. Haven't heard from Jeezus, left him some PMs on both sites. Those are the only other Charlotte folks I know that were interested in going.

I like the breakfast buffet idea on Sunday.

BTW, the weather looks pretty good for most of Saturday and Sunday. Just some lingering showers early in the morning on Saturday.

ZGN 10-22-2009 12:26 PM

I think my wife may come along also. We may not stay the night but it will be a fun 24 hour 1000 mile trip!

You're still trying to compensate for not driving out to SevenStockXII, aren't you Kevin?:seeya:

ZGN 10-22-2009 01:00 PM

Tim the correct answer to your question changes from season to season. However, my definition is constant, and is somewhere between 3AM to 6AM. :)

To be at CB at 8AM, I would have to leave around 4:30AM. This way I sleep in and let you guys have a leisurely breakfast, then drive to the other side of Asheville and meet up with us.

And of course, Kevin is totally crazy, so he has no problem driving all night and day. :driving:

t_g_farrell 10-23-2009 07:27 AM

Jeezus is down with the flu or something like it. I'm
waiting on word from BigIslandsSeven today.

I'll be there, like I said before 8:30. I'm bringing pasta
salad and some homebrew.

And according to Hollys' definition, I'll be leaving at the buttcrack of dawn :)

1twistedrx7 10-23-2009 06:28 PM

well on my way tray!!!! see you at the house.

ROTORX7Holly 10-23-2009 09:10 PM

See everyone tomorrow morning. No buttcrack of dawn for me. :)

Holly

lt1_fd3s 10-26-2009 07:04 AM

Herblenny 10-26-2009 08:54 AM

Lol!

lt1_fd3s 10-26-2009 12:45 PM

Just some more stats:

~200 miles traveled
10 cars - 9 RX-7s, 1 Mazda3
1 fuel issue (due to higher elevation)
12 people - states represented: NC, SC, GA, AL
Sunday morning temps weren't as bad as last year.
Great time had by all!

Herblenny 10-26-2009 01:02 PM

Sorry I couldn't make it.. My ankle was bad, than ok, then bad, than ok.. and now its so so.. I talked to kevin day before and he told me his wife was going.. I thought about going with him if he was going alone.. Maybe next year...

BigIslandSevens 10-26-2009 01:54 PM

Who had fuel issues? it isn't that high elevation IIRC. A little over 3k. Had to be Tim!!:D:D j/k buddy;)

Don't forget that Kevin represented AL.

Ever thought of making this a full parkway event? Cherokee to the Va end? 400 miles I beleive and a couple nights out. As everyone else is I also await pics,.

Good turn out.

The wife and I traveled 5 states, over 1000 miles in 24 hours. :)
Still making up for missing the drive to 7stock.

t_g_farrell 10-26-2009 02:10 PM

Ah yes that would be me with the fuel issues since I was the only carbed car at the meet. My dual Facet fuel pumps are getting tired I guess (20 years old). Time to swap em out for a higher rated psi pump and a return regulator.

I'll have pics up later. Stay tuned.

I did think about doing that the first year. Gianny and I did a "test" run for getting travel time. Took a full day and still didn't get all the way. After looking at it, we determined that anything north of Boone, NC just felts like just a regular country back road. It wasn't the majestic beauty of the 90 mile stretch I focus on.

Another reason for the shorter trip is so that people don't have to sacrifice too much of their vacation time from work to come to the event.

Also wanted something that will be "manageable" as the event grows and more than 10 cars come. 400+ miles is a task!
