Anyway, here they are, if you want a set for the front now, lemme know as I'm going to order some that are slightly different. The ones in the pics are 1/4" thick steel with some 1/16" washers. So the answer is some cut out of 5/16" and cadnium plated to prevent the rust. So lemme know if you want a set. There is only one more measurement that needs to be corrected. I had to file out the ID to fit over the hub. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274333872 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274333872 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274333872 Quote:

So I figured I should give ya a few updates. Haven't really done shit since DGRRX, work has been kicking my ass to the tune of 10-14hrs/day 6 days a week. So I'm still thrashing every chance I get, but I've had no time as other shit keeps coming up, as in my mothers truck :banghead:
So anyway, here are some goodies Pic of the rear of the car showing the battery/fuse/main disconnect mounting.... and of course the bitchin' Lizard Skin http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274334521 MoTeC and TCMux mounting and wiring. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274334521 ID2000 injector in my grimy hand, pair of ID 725's in the rail. These things just look impressive. If you've ever looked at the antiquated Delphi injectors that alot of us run, you'd understand. I really can't wait to start tuning with these injectors:icon_tup: http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274334521 ID2000 in purple, ID725's in the rail. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274334521 Good shot of the attention to detail of the CJ Motorsports Fuel Rail http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274334521 |

CJ Rail installed. Really looking forward to getting them to build me a rail even though I just bought the GURU rail. The GURU rail has it's shortcomings as well but it's the BEST option that's currently available. And when they say 3-4 day delivery from AU, they mean it.
Anyway - CJ rail http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274335620 The big problem with the injectors and fitting them into the RE LIM is the 16mm+ opening for the injectors. I know alot of people just put a bigger o-ring on and call it done, but I was STRONGLY urged by Paul to NOT do that. So I looked around for the little adapter baskets and then a rail set to the right height and the Guru rail was it. Here's a pic of the little adapter bucket. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274335620 And installed in the LIM http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274335620 The rail itself with the new ID2000's installed. If you look at the end, it's NOT a pipe thread as I would've liked to see. Instead it's a -8 ORB. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274335620 Now, how does one get a 1/2"NPT Marren FPD onto a -8ORB fitting. The answer is you don't without a myriad of adapter fittings. I hate adapter fittings. So after a 9 minute phone call to MoTeC and a 2 day wait, this little gem of a package arrives. Bosch FPD, -6 Banjo, and an M18x1.25 to -8 ORB fitting. Who the HELL has a fitting like that? MoTeC - the only company that continues to impress me. Now, do I put it on the front of the rail to show it off, of the end of the rail to make the plumbing easier? http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274335620 And assembled http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274335620 |

And this is what DGRRX will do to two seemingly normal people :smilielol5:
http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274336018 And yes, that is my car cover..... 1/4" flannel lined, very warm ;) http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274336018 Still left to do wold be Plumb the fuel system wire up the GT101 Hall Sensors a few body panels to put on install the FTP's change a front caliper out Build a fuel cell - this is going to kick some serious ass. |
Bah... slacker.
You think you've done shit. I've had nothing short of wrapping up some interior stuff and jacking my car up in the last few weeks! Looking good though - I love the fuel configuration! Must look into those injectors as well... when the time is right of course ;) |
Good progress Brian! Man it seems that slow FC work has been the pace for everyone this last month....I have only got 500 miles on the FC and barely any tuning done.
I am very impressed with Motec as well.....they really seem to hook there customers up indeed! I would have gone that route if I would have known about Motecs capabilities. MAN I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE A PIC OF YOU SLEEPING.......................................... .........here is what you would really look like if you had your "perks" available that night lol http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...ay/redbull.jpg |

I'm telling ya man.............
actually I'll tell ya in PM to keep the secret a mystery ;) |
My friend is running 4 of those ID injectors on his 13b-RE since there's a few vids of bone stock 4 bangers idling/running on them without a hitch. Of course he's also full bridge with GT45 turbo and intends on running E85 in the near future so......

So I guess it's about time for an update of sorts. I pulled another all nighter just to try to stay on sched. I've taken the interior as far as I can go until I get the fuel cell done. I really just wanted to show off the redline goods boots and new shifter. A little work on the engine and she's now ready to fire, as soon as I finish up this bitch..... http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274758595 Here's almost all of the needed pieces. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274758595 Getting that top on and tacked in place was without a doubt the hardest thing to do. In taking as many measurementsas possible I found out that everything was off by about .063" May not sound like alot but when it's half the thickness if the material being used, it becomes a rather large problem Surge tank welded in place http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274758595 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274758595 Baffled. You can see the plate I built out of .25" AL with some 1/4-20 bolts for studs. Should be able to get enough loud on those fuckers to knock out any leaks. The thing holds about a gallon of gas, shouldnever have an issue, or so I hope. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1274758595 With any luck I'll have the car running by memorial day.... I hope. |
^^As always.. impressed by your work. Are we sure you arent a robot? The welds on that damn fuel cell are fantastic!
Oh and i dont know if you remember this or not but when i told you i sprayed my paint at 29psi to the cap, i meant 29psi to the gun. That i believe translates to 10psi to the cap. I was just thinkin about that the other day while i was at the paint store looking at guns. |
