Sooooooo, I'm going to have a very interesting picture up on Saturday morning for all to see, then the fun will really begin. I'm giving myself 10:1 odds
|
um... brakes? :) 5 to 1, give yourself a little credit haha.
|
 Nope, not brakes... turbo's should be here tomorrow though (HUGE HUGE THANKS the Bryan @ BNR for busting ass and taking a special trip for me) although I am hopefull that I'll have brakes in my hand in a week.
Actually..... when are you planning on swinging by this weekend? You might be able to see the madness first hand, then you might actually raise me to 20:1 ;) Saturday is going to be another 30 hr marathon and I think I'm going to say fuck the landi this weekend. |
The tension is building!

Thats right screw the Landi... anyone coming by needs to be either put to work on the FC or put to death for interupting progress, Brian ain't rolling over and givin' up that easy |

I was thinking about it today, the title of this subforum bothers me. Is there ever such a thing as a rotary car build? I'm not sure I belive that. For rotaries, its always only rebuild, or extensive maitnence with new and upgraded parts.
I shall submit this thread as Exhibit 1. |
........pics...................are................ ..good.............

Soooooooooooooooo here's something interesting that happened today. First the good news...... my turbo's came in and they are AWESOME! I got to molest them for about 5 minutes until my buddy showed up in his POS daily bitch.... an '88 300SE Benz. This piece of poo has an oilpan that is not only cast AL, but it also hangs lower than the front bumper, and farther forward than the wheels :banghead: Sooooo today as he was pulling into a parking spot he went a little too far, cracked the curb, and now there is a 6"x1" HOLE in the oilpan. So we spent a little time tonight loosening the motor mounts, removing the engine shock absorbers  hoising the fucker up and getting the pan out. Tomorrow he is going to square up the hole, cut a few pieces of AL out and I'm going to weld the motherf*cker up..... soooooooooooooo yeah, that's taking a little time away from the ole' FC. Pics coming of that soon too.

Prowireusa has the datasheets on the Raychem and the Raychem boots so you can shoose what you need. Take a look at the Raychem boots.... they are the definition of sexy heatshrink..... I spent probably $1200 on Raychem and boots for the Landi.

No worries man, those are some damn good numbers indeed. Are you taking that setup and dropping it in the FB? That would be soooooooooooo money. What wastegate are you running?[/QUOTE]
Yes it is the set-up for the FB the only changes are I will be using a 13B-RE and the later version RX6 turbo that uses a short runner manifold (I will have to clearance the lower manifold a little bit since the compressor just touches the RE lower) I already have the engine, the S4 N/A rotors I got from you, turbo kit from another FD, huge front mount intercooler and the Haltech platinum 1000 sitting here so most of my build is waiting for a little more money and a lot of time. hoping to crack 400 hp in a 2500lb car so it should be a rocket until the diff explodes:biggthumpup: The wastegate is the one that came with the kit its an Apexi also but they have had a few failures on them in the past the bushing binds on the shaft when they get hot so all I need to do is bore out the bushing a tiny bit Dave said he has seen it before with that gate so I'll do both of mine at the same time |
At least somebody is making progress this weekend!
|
Can i get some odds!!!!

That FB will be a rocket. Ever give any thoughts to swapping out the rear for an IRS? Quote:

Nope.
Sleep is for the weak and the lazy I'll sleep when I'm dead I slept for the first 9 months of my life, I'm trying to make up for lost time The standing record for me to beat is 52 hrs.... You sure you want me back in Cali for that 3-rotor ;) |

Yup, I'll be trying until 05:30 Thursday morning when we MUST be on the rd. Got the time, ain't got the parts. Total opposite of last year. Can't win for loosing :banghead:

You're nuts. And this thread is useless without pics :)

Lemme put it to you this way... I had a few parts made, and while I was in Cali I got word that they were done. This was on 3/31, thehy were "done".... do I have them yet? NO!!!! :banghead: Quote:

I just want to see the torque curve with the twins vs. a small single since the hp is similar.
|
cant exactly be a small turbo, just the right size turbo to meet his port flow as well as his charge pipe lengths
its got to be the hardest fucking part of the whole process i think im choosing good with the turbo i want, dave agrees 100% with what i want to do, and with the amount of pipe length i should have i should get full boost from 3-4k all the way up to redline and yet still be well within the turbos efficiency rate |

The 20B is gonna be FUN. |

440 is nice and all... I'll probably get there when I re-do the engine after the house. In the mean time I'll be content to hit around 300 give or take. :)
