Yes, my girlfriend and I will be joining and joining the caravan. They will be driving through my town on the way up I85 so we'll just meet them on the highway. Can't wait to see everyone!

t_g_farrell 10-19-2010 07:37 AM

Hey, I see another SA on the list. Woot! I won't be the only first gen again.

SAs RULE!

ZGN 10-19-2010 07:46 AM

Looks like I won't be in a rotary this year. :( FD is not going to be ready by then.

Sorry to hear that Kevin. If you want to ride in an old school 1st gen anytime
during the trip let me know.

I have a T2 and an FB at the house u could pick from... neither are completely legal...but shhh... I would suggest the FB, it runs like a champ!

ZGN 10-19-2010 11:03 AM

Thanks, but I don't need any to get in any trouble with NC LEO's :)

I will be selecting the RotaryCarClub.com October Car Of The Month at this event so everyone break out the soap and wax... Let's see some clean rotaries!

Proxy One 10-19-2010 02:27 PM

Any of you guys happen to have a FD power steering reservoir cap that I could have? Mine is cracked around the top. If so could you bring to B3R.

lt1_fd3s 10-19-2010 03:02 PM

i'll trade out with you jeremy... i'll be removing my PS pump eventually... so i'll take your cracked one if it can still be put on..

Proxy One 10-19-2010 03:42 PM

Cool, yeah you can still put it on, you just cant get it all that tight or the top will come up, its cracked almost all the way around the top.

t_g_farrell 10-20-2010 12:30 PM

I got a new toy that I'll be using to video the B3R this weekend. I
posted a thread about it in the video section.

http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...ad.php?t=12604

Heres my first video. I need to work on the conversion from the AVI format
to whatever gets the best quality and size for the web. Advice on this
is welcomed. The AVI is much better than the version that ended up on flickr.

I had planned on leaving Smyrna, TN Friday afternoon to head toward NC but I see the camping isn't till Sat. I could caravan with Holly's group but that is 230 miles out of the way. What are my lodging options near the area so I'm not in any rush Saturday morning to be at the right place? Lookin forward to this weekend! :driving:

t_g_farrell 10-21-2010 06:45 AM

Tray has a hotel doesn't he :)

almost... but Zach, I can have a bed or couch for you to sleep on friday night if you need it... my general statement applies.. its not a fancy hotel, no maid service... but its a free roof over your head... Jamin and Bryan will be here too... oh, and u can see all the car parts i have all over the place...

t_g_farrell 10-21-2010 08:18 AM

Looks like we might break the 20 car barrier. I see 19 registered for camping.

FC Zach 10-21-2010 09:10 AM

Sweet, I was sweating it for a little bit thinking I wasn't going to get my car back in time but I got it back yesterday and so far so good. Gonna clean her up and cross my fingers for tomorrow.

t_g_farrell 10-21-2010 10:34 AM

I need to bring a laptop for offloading video from my new camera. I can bring
a Dell Latitude or an IBM t23. What I don't have is a charger for either
that plugs into the cig lighter.

Can I get one cheap somewhere like Walmart or BestBuy? Or maybe borrow someones during the trip and return it at the end.

Ok, looks like I can get a cheapie power inverter but I'm not sure how well it will work in a 30 year old car.

ZGN 10-21-2010 11:34 AM

I'll bring my power inverter.

ROTORX7Holly 10-21-2010 01:50 PM

Tray, so where is the spot that the Atlanta caravan is going to meet up with everyone in Brevard, NC, for lunch?

lt1_fd3s 10-21-2010 02:02 PM

Let's keep this simple...

Wal-Mart parking lot (lower part, near Taco Bell and the Bank)
177 Forest Gate Dr
Brevard, NC 28712

Wal-Mart is at the intersection of NC 280, US 64, NC 276...

My thoughts on lunch: do lunch in Brevard. Right near the Bottom of HWY 276 are several places to eat, some fast food, some sit down... I was thinking that we dont all have to eat at the same place, all the places I mentioned are almost within sight of one another (Except for the two asian places...) and we can meet back up at a time after everyone eats if some do split off...

Fast Food:
Taco Bell
Subway
Food Lion Deli
(maybe a few others in the shopping area...)

Sit down:
Twin Dragons - Asian Buffet
Mexican Place
Sea food place (across from Mexican)
Pizza Hut
Fuji Yamas - Asian sit down, not buffet

ROTORX7Holly 10-21-2010 07:13 PM

Thanks TeeeeRay!

t_g_farrell 10-22-2010 08:44 AM

Less than 24 hours to B3R!

FC Zach 10-22-2010 12:20 PM

On my way!

ZGN 10-22-2010 12:39 PM

about to leave in 2 hours :)

t_g_farrell 10-22-2010 12:47 PM

Tray how are the leaf colors up there this year? Last year was kind of sparse.I wish

I wish I was on my way :( I leave at the butt-crack of dawn tomorrow so I can have a big Cracker Barrel breakfast :icon_tup:

Hmmm, what color is Trays hair for B3R? Red , white, and blue maybe?

Proxy One 10-22-2010 01:38 PM

Damn I wish I was leaving, im still stuck at work for another 3 hours. Then home to pack the car and leaving in the morning.

9G Redline 10-22-2010 02:08 PM

I'm so excited for this! Lindsay and I got the tent cleaned and packed up last night. Do a little laundry today, change the plugs in the 8, maybe wash the car, and wait for a phone call tomorrow morning from Holly. =) See you guys soon!

I was told that last weekend was peak... so hopefully it will be good this weekend. i know i've not see as many leaves on the ground in the past two weeks as i did the two weeks prior to last years event...

ROTORX7Holly 10-24-2010 08:11 PM

I think all had a great time at B3R this year. The Atlanta caravan had a 1st, 2nd & 3rd gen, and two RX-8s drive up to Brevard and join all the others that drove from the start at Asheville. The scenery was beautiful, with lots of fall foliage remaining. It wasn't too cold this year, although others may not agree, I was prepared. We had a great group of 18 rotorheads this year, with 13 rotaries running the Blue Ridge Parkway and camping at Cherokee.
3 - 1st gens (Thomas, Tim, Carlos & Jan)
4 - 2nd gens (Bryan, Kristy, Zach, Jamin)
3 - 3rd gens (Tray, Jeremy, Joel & wife)
3 - RX8s (Alan, Holly, Kevin & Lindsay)
Sorry, if I spelled your names incorrectly.

Thanks Tray... Good Times. And thanks to your WNCRides friend, Jonathan for getting all the food and supplies for the campfire dinner. Great Job!

Can't wait to see the videos and pics.

Holly

lt1_fd3s 10-24-2010 08:21 PM

Alan..no allen =P

yeah, jon was a big help, hopefully next year his roommate matt will join us in his FD... my pics are up on Facebook...

and did you notice the new sub forum we have now?!?!

t_g_farrell 10-25-2010 06:55 AM

Once again Tray, it was a great outing. The weather couldn't have been better and the fall color was great. Thanks for organizing it and leading us around.

Once I get all my pics/vidoes loaded up, I'll post em.

FC Zach 10-25-2010 08:23 AM

Awesome event which included all the things I enjoy, (cars, friends, and the outdoors). I had a great time and definitely plan on going next year. I have had an ongoing problem with my car's carb that I thought I had worked out for the event, I was wrong. Thanks to all the rotorheads for your patience and especially Brian for helping me correct the problem. On the long trek home I never stopped for gas and made it to my house with 315 miles on the trip, that's pretty good for a carbed FC!
