thank you later I am going to go out and install the rear carpet and the plastic I have.

SpooledupRacing 10-19-2008 02:17 PM

rear carpet is in.. but I cant put in the rear plastic till I get seat belts.

MaczPayne 10-19-2008 07:04 PM

In the bin area, there should be a dimple on the trans tunnel. Drill a hole through that, and put the snubber through from the bottom and bolt it down, with washers to adjust preload on the pinion. The snubber is an Energy suspension bumpstop you can purchase from kragen, autozone, etc.

You can do it later if you choose, but it's easier to do with the subframe out of the way.

SpooledupRacing 10-20-2008 06:29 PM

Ok so today I took my rear spindles/hubs/bearings to have them l pressed together.. I got them back and went home and installed them on the car WOOT WOOT!!

ok so as far as I am concerned get me some wheels and I cna get the car ready to go on the ground..

I still need to buy sway bars and end links and brakes but I plan to set the car on the ground without brakes so I can roll it around during the winter..

anyways here is the pic of the rear spindle on the car !!!

SpooledupRacing 10-20-2008 07:07 PM

drivers side went on easy, passenger side SUCKED.. but I got them both on and I can now move on WOOT!

SpooledupRacing 10-22-2008 08:30 AM

SpooledupRacing 10-24-2008 06:43 PM

Ok I got the new frt hub nuts/washer/caps so I installed new inner and outter bearings, new seals, put the hubs on and put on a brand new washer, nut, cap, cotter pin and grease cap

think its time to blow those leaves outside!

SpooledupRacing 10-25-2008 05:15 AM

hahaha.. once I get it on some wheels I plan to roll the car out of the garage, clean the floor real good and put it back, get a tarp up and ready for the long winter.

Max777 10-25-2008 11:46 PM

Your project is going along really well! I'm lucky that my FC came with 5 lug, I would hate to have to do all that work on top of all the shit I've done already! :D

SpooledupRacing 10-26-2008 01:55 PM

the actual swap from 4 to 5 lug is not hard. in the front all u need is the hub and u can mount the hub on the 4 lug spindle. the rear u just ned to press out the old spindle and put the new one in.

this week my next step is to clean the engine bay, possibly paint it and get it prepped for more goodies.

SpooledupRacing 10-27-2008 06:22 PM

Ok no pics tonight but I just spent the last few hour pulling all the un needed brackets off the engine bay, removing some of the wire harness and removing all the straps, removing the coils, oil cooler etc..

Tomorrow I plan to finish all of that up so I can prep it to clean and paint the engine bay..

pics will come up as I get to that point

SpooledupRacing 10-28-2008 05:25 PM

Did a little more engine bay cleaning.. I ran out of brake clean so I am done for now..

rotorhead87 10-28-2008 06:21 PM

lol...I just got a case of deja vu. When your done cleaning your bay up are you keeping it the same shade of red?

SpooledupRacing 10-28-2008 06:22 PM

no painting it black.

Riken 10-29-2008 01:28 PM

I know you lol Sup Dave. Looks good.

WE3RX7 10-29-2008 01:51 PM

Be sure to check that driver side frame rail and behind the brake booster for rust/etc. If your car ever had a brake fluid leak, that will eat right through factory paint and lead straight to rust.

Are you just using a rattle can black? I'd recommend some type of rust-proofing paint on the bottom framerailes and trans tunnel (anywhere that will get hit with moisture a lot.

SpooledupRacing 10-29-2008 01:57 PM

RIKEN!!! whats up man.. good to see you made it over here buddy!!

WE3RX7 this car has no rust in the engine bay or frame rails.. it will get a nice coating done to the engine bay when I do it this weekend.

Today I received some wheels from a friend (free) so I can put this pig on the ground

here they are in the back of my Jeep.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8..._IMAGE_065.jpg

more updates tonight when I get them on and finish cleaning the engine bay.

SpooledupRacing 10-29-2008 05:47 PM

Went home, put the wheels on and dropped it to the ground.. I will get other pics once the car is pulled out of the garage

RotaryXperiment 10-29-2008 06:51 PM

finally!! let that suspension settle. i would prob shake it up and down a few times as well.

SpooledupRacing 10-29-2008 06:53 PM

yeah this weekend when I pull the car out of the garage I will open the hatch and climb inside

SpooledupRacing 11-15-2008 05:33 PM

OK just to update.

I have done nothing since last update. I am flat broke and have no money to do anything.. I started to paint the engine bay black. Maybe I will get a pic of that tomorrow in the sunlight.

I have also given the Mariah front bumper back.. I couldn't afford it so I just gave it back.

Anyways just wanted to give any kind of update!

RoughRex 11-16-2008 07:34 PM

Nice work man... everytime I see that steering wheel and seats, I'm jealous that they look so good. I just wish they could have worked out for me. :(

SpooledupRacing 11-16-2008 09:33 PM

The seats are sold.

I am keeping the wheel (atleast for now) but I will be installing some racing seats.
