If it comes down to it I'll buy 2 at that price. There's always someone that pops up a month after the GB closes saying, "ah shite mang, that shit would look so dope on my ride yo! How could I have missed this. I musta been beetin the piss outta my ride slideways dawg:driving:."

Then my buddy will post up saying he knows someone that has it unopened and he'll sell it to you for the original asking price plus shipping plus the "You're a fuckbag" fee

Even better would be if he pops up after it closes but before they ship. That would be deal, then I just sell him my number and it's a different shipping addy that Ken puts on the box.

So you should buy two too. Phoenix should buy one as well. That puts us @ 12

EJayCe996 06-05-2009 08:36 PM

I def could, i know someone who'd ask me where I got it/want one once he sees on on my car. Another still asks me about my rear diffuser that I still haven't put on because the car has a dent on the lower rear-most part of the quarter panel where the diffuser would mount (a good 1/4" gap too :() So basically it won't go on until I get the car repainted a custom red (blood red) and have the body shop do the dent in the process.

TitaniumTT 06-05-2009 10:55 PM

mmmm, sexy. Which diffuser? I gave some thought to doing one of those but decided against it.

What's the car color that you're going with? I'm helping a friend repaint his '87 TII Imola Red. The newest BMW red. We're going to add some extra mettalic to it and lay down some nice clear. Should look better than the BMW's.

New current list for the slightly higher 450 pricing (they apparently got a hood that should have never made it past QA, if they ever had one, so they're going to combine the vents and with an OEM hood and make a mold from that instead).

TitaniumTT 06-18-2009 12:53 AM

I'n torn between putting my name down for the whole hood, just getting the vents, or building my own with the AL hood that I have

This is exactly what happened with Shine Auto's vented FC hood, they had to mold the vent to a stock metal hood because the JDM hood they recieved to make the mold was just too shitty.

They ended up with a real high quality product this way, fits like OEM.

WE3RX7 06-18-2009 11:20 PM

Holy crap, I must have missed something - if we're talking the panspeed hood, I'm down!!

I read through the thread, but I'm a bit confused - will this only be available in FG or can we go CF as well? Whats the ETA on these?

I believe that Shine does still make the "Style 1" front bumper that you have Brian... at least at the time I spoke to Ken via email (a few days before DGRR) he still had them and I think they are still listed on their products lineup...

The price is for FG, but you can have it made in other materials.

WE3RX7 06-19-2009 03:03 PM

I def want CF for this one....

WE3RX7 06-23-2009 10:40 PM

Whats the status on this hood possibility? does it look like we'll get it made?

EJayCe996 06-24-2009 12:25 PM

We're sitting at 12 out of 15 atm.
Want me to add you to the list for CF over there?

WE3RX7 07-02-2009 12:13 PM

Please do - but you'll have to harrass me on this forum when we get to 15 though, i dont check in on the club much..

why? WHY did you bring him back????

seriously, I want some of that crack...

Seriously, someone take this kid's 7 and give him another 240....PLEASE!! We don't need him rolling on his G-ride thinking he's the pimp shit cuz he can make shit up like it's nobody's business.

Now, is that an REW swap? or just the twins with REW UIM (maybe even LIM?) on a 13BT or Titanium's car (RE)?

oh, and to not be a total douche-post-whore.....how's the list for this hood going?

EJayCe996 07-13-2009 05:57 PM

the list is at 14 and TTT said he'd talked to Ken not to long ago and said the hood should be done in 1.5 to 2.5 weeks before he starts collecting deposits.

And that is an REW swap, btw.

Not to mention the little kids mechanical experience with the FC is limited to wiring an electric fan (incorectly) and adding some mad phat tyte dope drift style LED's to his car :facepalm1::facepalm2::facepalm3::facepa lm4::facepalm5:

I can has link to that thread please? Or the one that decribes the swap? I want to see if he's a toolbag or not with the twins ;)

& Yes, I spoke with Ken mid last week and he had indicated to me that the hood will be done in 2-3 weeks. I've started asking around about the garage Kogatani hood but have limited responses yet. I PM'ed with someone on the evil forum about the Atihun hood but that's pretty much a no-go. I'm going to KDR tomorrow and if Dave has a backup AL hood I'm going to start cutting mine up to see what I can come up with, But I'm SOOOOOOOOO hesitant to rip into a perfectly good AL hood.... even though I already sanded all the paint off. I'm so confused.

naw, anyone can be a noob and get away with it as long as they try to learn. His attitude towards critique to his "style" and or mistakes, lack to want to learn, and his coinage of the term "cali slam" along with his overall demeanor is annoying.

I want this hood so bad I can taste it... its the "missing" link for my car to get ready for the body shop....

project86 07-14-2009 10:29 PM

the missing link to my car being ready is a complete rebuild... btw Titanium.... i noticed your very nice 13B-RE... and that you kept the sequential set up. how is it? is you uim ceramic coated or did you just paint it? my plan was also to do an RE.

EJayCe996 07-15-2009 08:30 PM

Everything that touches exhaust or intake air was ceramic coated.

I love the REW twins. Show me a car that can spool as quick as those things in the lower gears. I touch the throttle in 5th @ 50mph and I get 15 lbs. Still have some fine tuning though. Dave and I are really looking forward to mucking around with the Motec and the sequentials on the dyno. Our goal is to get a smoother transition than the factory and almost twice the RWHP. Lofty but we'll see.

Here's some reading for ya ;)

Expect it to take YEARS to go through everything. It's that time consuming. I did all the work in my garage. All the paint too, with the exception of the body itself. I couldn't get enough airflow to keep the paint clean, so I hit up a friend of the family who has a body shop and towed the car there to spray the body in thier DD booth.

I bought a set of industrial duty solenoids and redid every last van line. I even built my own vac/boost chamber and mounted it under the UIM. Everything is either stainless hardlines or thick ass silcone.

REW twins are bigger, more plentiful, and can be serviced in the US. What do you do if the RE twind fail? You're shit out of luck. Not to mention I didn't think that the RE twins were capable of the 380-400 that I want to see.

Quote:

The REW twins will fit in the same physical location in the engine bay regardless of what engine they are on. Plenty of people have dropped REW complete engines into the FC. Some different from others in terms of the mounting. If I was going to go ahead and use the REW engine though, I would build an entirely new subframe to drop the thing in. Well, ok, not an entirely new subframe, I would modify the existing subframe. The REW has some advantages over the RE, but not enough to justify using the REW over the RE based on the RE's advantages. More equal length intake runners, bigger plenum, bigger runners, etc etc etc. The main drawback to the RE are the stock exhaust sleeves which actually, the first engine that I bought was already rebuild using REW housings so i was GOLDEN. The second engine has the RE housings, but I swapped the REW sleeves in. The way they line up isn't ideal but the dyno will tell if I'm being paranoid or not.

^^^^^Fantastic! man these cars are a pain in the ass but i love em. and yes im talking about FC3SMurray. i actually just got off the phone with him. i just got a new dd so ill be parking my 7 to start the work. im not expecting it to be done quickly at all. i want the best quality build i can get which i know will take time.http://www.rx7club.com/album.php?albumid=859 heres the link to my album on rx7club. just to show the basic re do on my car after i had an unfortunate run in with a jeep. sorry to thread jack...

So after not a lot of back and forth at all with RHDJapan, they decided to offer the GK hood on thier site. I'm REALLY impressed with Russell and the other guys @ RHDJapan, and I'm an old cranky not easily impressed bastard and they really came through. If my own little PJ falls through, I'll be picking this bad ride up for sure. Infact, I may just do it anyway, we'll see. Anywho, all should enjoy this. I like it more than the PanSpeed hood so I'm pretty much officially out of the Shine GB dealy.

Panspeed.... :suspect:.... GK

oh bugger.

For the record I LOVE THOSE GUYS AT RHDJAPAN! They basically went through their entire shift knob inventory that Fits the FC and got me all of the weights since I wanted something with a heavy feel.

WE3RX7 07-23-2009 04:01 PM

That essentially looks the same from that angle, only its missing the second smaller vent over the exhaust....

JW Brian - but why do you like that one more? Its hard to tell if the lip around the vent is much taller than panspeed's...

WE3RX7 07-23-2009 04:02 PM

Lol - just saw that they have it in CF... damnit... why do you make these decisions harder!!!
