Here is test video #2 with a different width setting and the wind shield GoPro recommends. It did help with the noise:

it says this video is private! :/ ^^

Try it again in a few minutes - just changed the settings and it will take a few minutes to process.

PortedRotorTuner 03-15-2010 07:58 PM

ok thanks, right now it still says private. I'll keep trying.

Still says private

It still says it is processing - sorry. I"ll check on it later and maybe upload again if needed.

PortedRotorTuner 03-15-2010 09:44 PM

working now! Thanks! :)

Cool, the wind noise was a lot better in the second one!
Thanks!

I can't believe how small this camera is and a quality that it records I am definitely going to have to get one of these for the DGRRX

Yes, and that is going 65 on the highway. The first video was at about 35 MPH. They key is to use the slotted plastic case back versus the fully covered one.

Which width/pixel setting is the second video? Damn I can't wait to get mine :)

As I posted in the video, it is the "r4" setting on the camera. Here is what the manual says about this setting:

resolution)
Tallest HD Video
Max Overall View
4:3
960p
(1280 x 960)
30
when mounting on your body, helmet, surfboard or chest harness, this mode
offers the most vertical viewing area of all resolutions

According to the manual, the "r2" or the "r5" settings are the best for motorsport use but I thought I would try them all.

I'm still thinking about getting one of these, even though I know I don't need it. GoPro's site says they're backordered now... somebody out there is ordering them, lol.

ZGN 03-22-2010 10:02 AM

amazon.com still has a supply. :)
