Pat, that was a sight.. Well, I know Luis will take care of you.. Sucks that you now have to pull the engine out.. Glad you didn't get burned.. I ran to the door soon as I hear that pop :)

Dangit not another Hutto incident, lol. Nah just kidding. Hope this project is finished soon. You've covered alot of ground since you bought it.

Honestly I'm used to stuff like this happening. This is like the 4th "it's gotta run by Sunday for the race" that has not happened.

If this counts as a blown motor, then I have now blown 5 motors. 7 if you count cars I bought pre-blown. Part of being me I guess.

As Todd pointed out, it's just finding the weak link. If I ever get everything running it *should* be bulletproof. Too bad my motivation is about bottomed out.

To Do List:
-bigger radiator
-racing switch panel for +12V to fuel pump, fans, igniters
-pull motor, send for rebuild
-new battery
-find someone to buy car :D

If you need any help lemme know. I should have a little free time coming up.

There's someone here that wants to talk to you about that. Some ASE mechanic or something.

staticpat 03-06-2009 11:06 AM

Against my better judgement I lised the shell for sale on 7club. Not sure I want to sell, just exploring my options.

jtbshaw 03-06-2009 11:21 AM

First off, I don't see the posting over there in the 1st gen sections.

Secondly.....WTH? Anthony is seriously interested in the car.

Thirdly, WTH? Why post it there and not on this awesome site????

Fourthly, WTH?

Fifthly.....WTH??????????????????????????????????? ??????????

+1 no, +100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

I think they have some kind of pre-listing place it goes for the mods to approve.

I didn't think Anthony was serious. He said $500 as it sits. I assumed he was being facetious. If he or anyone local wants it they have first dibs. $500 will take the car minus the motor/tranny/driveshaft if it's someone I know. I figured you all hated the paint on it and wouldn't want the body.

I'm not officially selling it until I talk with Luis. I was using it as a feeler. If I don't sell it, its going to be parked indefinitley and I will need to buy another car or bike in case the FD explodes.

EDIT: Hell if Anthony wants to buy it I'll help him work on it and finish the wiring etc.

jtbshaw 03-06-2009 12:20 PM

Just spoke to Anthony again. He said he will take it for $500.....SERIOUSLY!

How we gonna work out the shop fees and fabrication fees? That bill is up to around $32k now. j/k We do need to get together about all this stuff. We've put many hours into this car, my own parts, housed the car for months, etc....so we just need to get together on all of this before the car goes anywhere.

Todd B.

AGAIN >>> Anthony will take it for $500. He said he needs to get with you on his ASE certified mechanics charges that he put into the car on his own time. :icon_tup:

staticpat 03-06-2009 12:30 PM

I'll be by later to pull the motor and we can figure something out. I'm still not sure I'm selling it until I talk with Luis.

I'll trade him the car and motor for his truck though.

jtbshaw 03-06-2009 01:17 PM

We moved it outside for now, but will move it in before we leave tonight. Once the engine is out, I will move it to our bone yard.

Whizbang 03-06-2009 01:41 PM

so...what happened?

staticpat 03-06-2009 01:52 PM

The coolant seals in the new motor were bad and blew up the radiator. The engine will get fixed for free, but it will be a while. I haven't decided whether I'm willing to wait on it.

Whizbang 03-06-2009 01:54 PM

you'll regret giving up the car!
