Thats a mighty fine system you got there:)

Topgear 01-16-2013 03:43 PM

Why thank you kind sir :) MWI systems you know

RICE RACING 01-16-2013 03:45 PM

For your 6mm nylon tubing here is a trick to make it more PRO (lol)

Put a piece of electrical wire up it (to stop tube from collapsing) and heat it up gently with a heat gun and BEND it to suit your application :) it then stays in position perfectly and looks sick as fuck :)

I have mine routed in all kinds of places, and in hot environments I sleeve it as well. Little tricks you learn over 20 years ;)

Erdin 01-16-2013 03:46 PM

Would that trick still work for 8mm hose?

Topgear 01-16-2013 04:32 PM

I will try it out tomorrow Peter and report back thanks for that :)

Topgear 01-19-2013 03:50 AM

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...4C3F1DCD89.jpg

It took me a few try's as I kept getting the cable stuck in the tube, but then I found if I lubed the wire and moved it while heating I could bend away

Topgear 01-19-2013 03:54 AM

Ps I just opened a new forum/blog on my site check it out guys

Little update

Have put my order in for a nice large intercooler but she is going to take around 30-40 days :( after that the car should be done

Tonight I got to work making up a shot blasting cabinet

Then I stuck the red upper and lower cosmo manifolds in there

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psabfc9797.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psfccb2f4d.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psd328b528.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps4375b66c.jpg

Then a quick clean up of the logo :)

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps25c3749b.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psb15fbe81.jpg

This has to be the best tool I've made/bought no more sending stuff out to be cleaned.

I'm going to keep the manifold this way now as it matches my turbo

RXtacy 02-04-2013 02:18 PM

Looks good :icon_tup:

You might want to clear coat the manifolds, as they can oxidize over time.

Topgear 02-05-2013 01:30 PM

Few more shots of a quick mock up of the intake system, I will be removing this lot again to apply the heat treatment sheets to the lim and under the upper

Quick update nothing big

I have the intercooler sized up and ready to be made now so soon as that's ready I should be back on the road

I am still on the look out for a GM 3bar map sensor

Anyways after cleaning up the intake I had to redo all the heat shielding so that's what I've been upto this afternoon

Enjoy

Topgear 03-26-2013 10:23 AM

I will be offering the new v-mount kit on my website in a few months once I have all the testing done keep your eyes peeled

Topgear 04-29-2013 04:49 PM

Im forever moving on with my systems and trying new things so with this new build comes a new lighter system

As I have the tooling with this system I wanted to try tight spring slip joints for the centre to rear system

The start of the rear system with 3" flange upto 3.5" slip joint so the 3.5" system can be used with the stock cat pipe

RICE RACING 05-09-2013 05:33 AM

Car looks jizzfactor3000 good!
Is that an oil restrictor on the turbo inlet or is it just an adapter to the oil line off the turbo?
Want some sound vids of it boosting up!

:driving:

Topgear 05-09-2013 07:32 AM

Hi Pete

The feed is just a normal -4 an fitting

Videos will be coming very soon :)

Ps

Bumper is back off ;)

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psf185832e.jpg

Topgear 05-10-2013 01:09 PM

And this is the reason why the bumper is back off

This time I wanted to make a real duct for the v mount rad and cooler

Here are a few progress photos from tonight

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps479758c1.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psbae4679c.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psbb3f446e.jpg

Topgear 05-10-2013 05:13 PM

Ok just pulled the duct out

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps19a0ccf3.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psce038161.jpg

It's very light and I will still have to trim and cut the holes for the rad and cooler,I'm happy with the way it's turned out

RICE RACING 05-10-2013 07:09 PM

Honestly mate, hurry up and move to Australia!
You will make a killing here with your skills you are showing, and there is lots of drug proceeds that are laundered here so money is no object for lots of customers.
UK and US are broke ass motherfuckers compared to us, you need to move and move now!

:)

Topgear 05-11-2013 06:56 AM

Sounds like a job offer :)

My plan is to be there middle of 2015 , my misses has been there now for 6 months working and she brings in more than I do lol.....

Your right the uk is fucked most customers want everything for nothing more so now than ever.....And the goverment don't help

When I do get to your home land I need to find a shop that works well and isn't full of retards untill then i couldnt even think about starting again on my own

Topgear 05-11-2013 09:34 AM

Well here is another little update

I've trimmed and cut the holes for the rad and cooler

RICE RACING 05-11-2013 08:27 PM

Maybe give some pointers to people who want to undertake some fiber glass work?
that duct looks excellent btw.

Topgear 05-12-2013 06:25 AM

Ok lower duct is finished I stone chipped the duct to match my chassis legs which I did last year then a coat of Matt black

Once everything is in you can't really see the duct at all lol

But I do have plans for an upper duct I just need the balls to cut my bonnet or I need to find a plain OEM style glass fibre bonnet or a cheap as chips carbon one

Anyway onto the ram air ducting ;)

Pic with the cooler out gives you a better idea

I also sealed the rad and later the cooler to the ducting with foam 7mm weather stripping to unsure air tight seal

Tiny update

Got most of my work out the way ready for tomorrow so this afternoon I started making a trans brace based on the "dragon design" but with more beef :)

11mm big daddy style

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps6777f293.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps439b8dfa.jpg

Quick coat of primer

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps0ac019c3.jpg

Then the magic colour Black :)

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps93d8e1c3.jpg

Then she finds her way back onto my car

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps093b0156.jpg

Topgear 05-24-2013 06:50 PM

Ok guys not much doing my end

But I am planning ahead and making more room for my upper intercooler ducting

So out with the old slam panel and in with a new TGS one ;)

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps0a687be3.jpg

I can now see 98% of the core :) win
http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps5d53fc09.jpg

From the photo above you can see my
Plates that I'm using to tie in the bonnet catch and more of them below with sexy welds

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...psa1e0361d.jpg

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps5b103f00.jpg

Not really a good photo I will get more tomorrow when I get some time to finish it I may even tie into the lower front intercooler mount for added strength... But even now it feels stronger than what I had left there after cutting to get the cooler in place

http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps5469ec46.jpg

Ps this photo I've just found on the pod website from last years rotorstock :)
