There's a few pimple thingies on the gauge hood, but otherwise it's good. All of the plastic is good except for 3 spots by the windshield. Two are where you screw the dash into the firewall (not really needed) and one is the left most clip to hold the defrost vent cover piece (the long piece under the windshield) on. You're in Antioch, right? I could run it by if you want and let you check it out.

Mine is riddled with sun damage "pimples" all over the gauge cluster hump and in front of the warning light surround. I'm in Smyrna off of hwy 24 exit 70, Almaville Rd.

Yep, tomorrow @ 6p.m., Toots on Broad

My5ABaby 03-22-2010 09:14 AM

I might actually have the 7 at the meet for once. It's actually better at transporting parts than my 6. Can't really fit much in the 6 as far as bigger parts.

FerociousP 03-22-2010 09:23 AM

I'll be there in the SA if I get the axles back in and get the brakes done an bled on Tuesday (taking the day off). The left wheel bearing was growling pretty bad so I'm glad I'm doing it... and I have tunes!

My5ABaby 03-22-2010 09:33 AM

79 SA has tunes and I don't. I really need to work on this whole no radio thing. I need something to drown out my trannys whining.

HVAC switch illumination ? ?

To all you 2nd gen owners, I've always been curious but forget to ask whenever we meet up. Do your selections on the switch unit (such as the "head", "feet", "defrost", etc.) illuminate? I cant see the damn things at night to make the selections so I have to use the dome light to differentiate them.

About 1/2 of mine work. I'm not sure if the lights are burned out or if the actual buttons don't work. I'll have to do some experimenting.

I will show up Tuesday. Zach, thanks for the drive shaft.
Anyone have these items they want to part with:
New Driveshaft seal-non turbo for 91vert
center air vent for 91vert
Drivers side electric window switch for 91 vert
Bring them with you if you want to part with them.
Thanks
Rich

I have a center air vent for S5 (Same vent for coupe and vert I think?) but one of the horizontal pieces is broken off and missing. I'll bring it tomorrow it's yours if you want it.

The bottom row where you select temp lights up on mine... most of the time. The top row where you select which vents you want air at, the lights are all out. I tried replacing the bulb but no luck. It's a candidate for the soldering iron if I ever get around to pulling it back out again... such a PITA.

See you all tomorrow!

FC Zach 03-22-2010 10:28 PM

Good to know that the lights in mine worked at one point in time, forever I actually thought it was designed that way.

"I tried replacing the bulb but no luck. It's a candidate for the soldering iron if I ever get around to pulling it back out again... such a PITA."

Now I just have to find out why there not working, I'll get on this possibly in the morn.

Thats how my clock is, it works when it want to and I'm not sure if its the idiot light display, the connection in the back, or both? ? ? not a big enough problem for me to care enough about so I ignore that little issue.

The idiot light cluster issue is caused by cold soldering... I bought a "reman" from Icemark because I was too lazy to fix it myself. I'd be willing to bet the logicon suffers from the same issue. The buttons on mine light up it's the back lighting that shows which button is which that is out on mine.

yep, it is the typical 2nd gen electrical issues. They all will have them at some point.
