My5ABaby 11-07-2011 08:27 AM

IH8DSM 11-07-2011 09:00 AM

Oh I know you can *wink face*

lilring 11-13-2011 09:03 PM

Just to let you all know. You missed out at IA. we acutally had a great time and a decent rotary turn out. we had 8 RX8s in our group.

djmtsu 11-14-2011 11:28 AM

I also heard there were fights, a bunch of dumbasses doing burnouts, etc.

That is why I don't go to IA meets. Too many thugs.

IH8DSM 11-14-2011 11:49 AM

Bout to say nick between the skreet racing, the fights, and the traffic I don't think I missed much

reddozen 11-14-2011 12:55 PM

Poorly planned event is poor. They had a year to plan the fall meet, and couldn't even control parking or hoodlum teenagers. It's shit like that that makes the police hate import guys.

I enjoyed it while I was there, but I'm glad I missed all the other idiotic antics.

rx7 vinnie 11-14-2011 01:04 PM

I missed on purpose.
Summer meet was more organized.

One reason the summer meet stays more civil is that you're trapped in a bowl. There's no room to act like an idiot without getting drug from your car by the masses and beaten to an inch of your life...

Is Racecar!?

Yeah, I pretty much left when all that started. I had to find a back way out so no retards would hit my car.

IH8DSM 11-14-2011 09:57 PM

The atl meet is pretty chill right maybe ill work on attempting to go to that one

TypeSL_T 11-15-2011 09:31 PM

I chose to go to the last autox of the season at Union Hill instead. Cost a bit more in gas money and 25 to run, but still worth every penny. I don't recall seeing any rotary guys out there this time. Unless you consider Brian Johns a rotary guy. He brought out his Miata Turbo. He and his wife co-drove the wheels off that car. It was so mean sounding when it hauled ass past me while I was working.

James

FC Zach 11-15-2011 10:05 PM

Yeah, Tara can drive the shit out of that car from what I hear.

Brent 11-18-2011 07:39 AM

^Yep, they didn't do too many local events this year so instead of bringing the E Stock Miata out, he decided it would be more fun to run the turbo miata.

I had enough of IA when it ran in conjunction with RTA in 09. Don't see myself making to any more of either venues.

reddozen 11-18-2011 08:21 AM

I wish we could have a local event that's more like the murfreesboro cruise in, but for imports and with vendors etc. Besides going to see like... 10 people I get pretty bored.

djmtsu 11-18-2011 01:12 PM

Brian, there aren't any local 'imports' only cruise in's because the VAST majority of import 'enthusiasts' are young idiots.

This is why I think I will stick to old school from now on. The young kids don't like them, so they ignore you.

Or they don't know what it is because it isn't a Civic or 240.

Brent 11-18-2011 03:12 PM

^agree all. I do enjoy and miss the local rotary get togethers.

I agree for sure, but at the same time, a lot of the problem is the promoters themselves not setting the example, and or doing their job in maintaining order at the events.

I'm not interested in the young kids drama either, but I do like to look at some of the cars etc.

Brent,
Yea, it's been a while since we had regular meets... I remember how intimidated I felt the first couple meets I went to though. Good times. Hard to believe how long ago that was. Our local group seems to be slowly disintegration. At least that's what it feels like.

We haven't been very active lately, but in the summer there's a rotary meet every Friday night at Belk's. It's really cool too because there's about 400 spectators with their cars there that come out just to see us. I guess we'll have to schedule something soon.

I like what you did there.

I have been out of it since I have a baby. But he is getting older, and I will have more time soon. I still come out when I can, or when I'm invited...

IH8DSM 11-18-2011 10:27 PM

Your not invited cause you always stand us up .insert sad face and violin music now

Yeah, it is always strange coming into a group you only know through the internet.

I think the group is just changing. I remember meets 10 years ago(we use to play Sega Super GT at the arcade). Very few of those guys are still around. Core group is still there though.

 The cruise in's are always alot of fun. Didn't make it to any this year though unfortunately. My gf's dad goes out to them most of the time. He has a bunch of 60's mustangs.

My5ABaby 11-21-2011 12:22 AM

Has anyone been to the Nashville auto show?

Brent 11-21-2011 05:42 AM

Yes. It was ok. I received an email from Mazda about parking my Mazda with the Mazda club as I suspect other Mazda Motorsports members did as well.

lilring 11-29-2011 08:32 PM

I know im kinda late in responding, but the auto show sucked. I could have test driven all the cars ive seen. Good thing I got free tickets or it would have been a waste of money.

fire85gslse 11-29-2011 09:32 PM

why dont someone set up a meet for a eat out like we use to do at TGI Fridays on Thursdays?

Toss out a date, time, location and im sure a few will show.
Never gonna be able to make it convenient for all that is why I was trying to do it every month.

And yes, the old meets 10+ years ago were different and small. Rob, Carson, Vince, Vinny, Trevor, Roger were a bit more into the scene.

project86 12-10-2011 09:54 AM

Anybody know of who drives a black s5 in the cookville area with what looked like silver advanced wheels? I spotted it right next to TTU.

That is what I was going to say!

I thought you said a few months ago that the move was off?

project86 12-11-2011 07:01 PM

Lol well it was off. I just kinda decided screw it and came anyway. I live in Sparta. Didn't bring my car though cause I'm still leaving for basic in Feb.

rx7 vinnie 12-12-2011 03:39 PM

Sparta?!?!?! I have a friend that helped me get into rotaries from Sparta named Sean Gurgainers. He's been out of it for a while though.

lilring 12-12-2011 07:18 PM
