I will have to check flight and rental prices. What is your closest air port? If I flight up there I am coming up a day or two early.

TitaniumTT 01-11-2011 09:29 PM

closest is Westchester County, ~25 minutes away. Next would be JFK or LGA, 45-60 minutes away, then Newark 60-90 minutes away, and then there is always that one in Hartford CT.... 90 minutes away... wtf is the name of that?? Bradley! Bradley international.

Fly in, cruise down, cruise back, or I know there are some people from your area that are DRIVING to DGRR. I'm sure we could hook ya up with a ride back with them as opposed to 14 hrs to the NE and then a plane ride back to TX.

TT, are you guys planning to roll through VA?

Maybe we can link up convoys?

TitaniumTT 01-12-2011 12:17 AM

Yeah Kane, route is usually 287 up and around through Jersey, pick up 78 through PA with a stop off @ Daves, pick up 81 for almost 530 miles and then rt 40 for a stint and then a ton of backroads.

I might be hooking up with WE3RX7 Wednesday night and then rolling down with him and a few of his buddies.

Where in VA are you? I'd love to have an epic caravan. Maybe the guy from Halifax will head on down, my neighborhood was a good stopping point for him too. This needs to be epic, whatever it is.

I am in Newport News (south east) VA. I am planning to go Thursday as well, my hotel is Thurs to Sun. We should coordinate so all of us (I think 3-6 will leave my area), hit the same area and cruise together. I am new to VA, so you would likely be in the best position to pick the meet up spot in order to hit the backroads, all I have is Google Maps to go off of.

Phil, Do you have any confirmation on Egar or any other drag guys coming up-down? I will be there either way.

.. and here I was just thinking about dropping you a line to see if we can actually meet up this year.
Booked our cabin yesterday, and got the vacation booked. Planning to leave Halifax on Tuesday, stop in your area on Wednesday again (she needs some time at the outlet stores in Freeport on the way by) and then roll into Bryson City on Thursday. Essentially the same route/timing as last year.

Looks like we are at least 3 cars this time. My RX-8, a mint GSL-SE and the guy with the FD who couldn't make it last year is booking his cabin as we speak. Another buddy (FC Turbo) is waiting on his exam schedule but has the time off penciled in. So, as long as I didn't just jinx us by posting this, we should be a respectable showing from Atlantic Canada.

We'll have to sort out the logistics, but would love to meet up and roll down.

Kewl, lets do it. My opening weekend is that weekend so I'm gonna be pissing a few people off and probably leaving late on Wed... like after work... getting into VA late, and then leaving Thurs morning for the final drive in.... I'll send out a few PM's to the VA crew to see what their sched is.

There's also some outlets in Clinton CT as well and from what I remember... more than in Freeport... but that might be a bad thing

Sweet, looks like it is shaping up to be a pretty good caravan!
