FE3 rods compared to SR20 rods.

that's your 3rd post in this thread with that picture in it. FE3 rods look stout. We get it.

I've thought about an RB26 or 2JZ swap (both have been done) but I always think... why? 2jz's and especially RB26's are fantastic engines but so are rotors, I doubt I'll swap anything of mine.

and if I do, it'll be for an LSX, just because I've never owned a fast V8 car and it's hard to argue with LSX performance.

2.3T's work well, a friend of mine has a 1984 SVO that's not dramatically far from stock and runs deep into the 11's. It's got a completely stock shortblock, and stock (ported) head.

my capri stock block(20 over) and stock turbo head. head made close to 450 on the engine dyno, at 25 psi and with out a inter cooler. we cant wait till we finish the car.

ford 4.0 from a mustang or ranger 210 hp stock. you can put on a supercarger and a litte more stuff and get 350 to 400 hp

but price will be there to but thay are ever where

A Mazda KL-series V6 would be sweet in an FC. This guy on another forum I'm on is big into Probes and randomly suggested it one day. The more I thought about it, the more I liked it.

I got my hands on a nice Mercedes turbo diesel 300dT with plans to
put it into an old fc I have but I fell in love with the Mercedes and ended
up swaping it to veggie oil

For power & reliability: Toyota JZ series engines (I6) OR Toyota UZ series (V8)...do some research on those engines and they'll blow your mind!! Toyota literally made 900 engines before they were satisfied w/the 1UZ (4.0L, 6 bolt mains) AND BMW used the design of that engine as blueprint for their V10!

fbRXse7en 05-27-2010 02:50 PM

sidenote: I personally know a guy that is swapping a 1UZ into his ae86 Corolla...sooo yummy!!

mazda244 09-22-2011 09:22 PM

i would just leave the rotary in there
