Nice... we have proof - He does actually sleep! Although, his eyes could be opened ;)

yea, post your gay pics of your shitty brakes already! Also, need new numbers with those BNR's, as it stands right now small single > big twins...

Thanks.

I will be sure to let you know when I find out the next track event. I am hoping to get on track pretty soon as I have not been yet this year.

I am proud of my car... it is just not quite where I would like it to be yet, but it is close.

I have been doing quite a bit of reading on the topic of Motec ECU's since we spoke and I still have more to learn. I do plan on coming up with my necessary list of inputs/outputs this week, then I can go from there.

I would also be interested in stopping by next time you head over to KDR to pick your brain about tuning a bit. Im not too far from Dave's shop.

Not at all, I'll post up or PM you when I head out there. I'll be out there for 2 reasons, swap out the tranny, and get back on the dyno to figure out where this girl really stands. Don't know how much tuning we'll be doing as she's pretty close to where she wants to be, but we'll be toying around in the high boost area's and in the boost control maps. Either way it'll be fun!

In truth guys this thing is very built in all aspects. The engine is very torquey and the turbos are very very responsive. I left it in 3rd when I was driving. It had no problem pulling out of any turns (some tight and went up hill)--and we are taking about low rpms. I could have shifted down to 2nd. But it really didn't seem necessary. :)

The only thing I would do it get a full manual rack instead of the depowered rack--but that's just me and its a very very small critique.

:lol: Yeah, sorry about that, I thought I was good after we got the FD running and I was ok for a while..... then all of a sudden things went south. On the way out things were literally upside down and when my eyes no longer focused is when I had to pull over.... it was evil, sorry about that.

Thanks man, you should feel her now that we had some time on the dyno, all those low rpm's that you're talking about.... they have about 80ft/lbs or more with the boost turned up.... totally different car, you have to go for another drive :D

Yeah, I know what you mean about the rack....... I've been saying alot lately that I miss powersteering. I donm't think I'll go with a full manual as the ratio does kinda suck...... I've got a 17:1 in the basement that I might de-power my way and see what that feels like. If it's still not the greatest, I'll look into some sort of electric ps :willy_nilly:

Na we took a detour you would have been fine pussy. :fawk:

Get yer ass up to CT damnit! And not really..... I have a feeling there would've been other problems as the weekend went on... glad I stayed though, had to help Colin with his car as well, couldn't leave him high and dry without a completed car

Thansk brotha.... she does have some pep! I wouldn't mind doing a race gas map, or water injection either...... or both :suspect: What I do need to do though is start working on a vacuum block though and getting all those lines worked out and neatened up. It can be better for sure.

Did Jeremy/Puremdma/Proxyone (white FD) buy you dinner or anything for you for fixing his car??? If he doesn't offer to, he's ban for next year!!

Phil

No he didn't... but that's ok.... we only got there for the last 60% of it or so.... and after all the bitching I was doing about how much I don't like white cars at lunch, I don't blame him either :smilielol5:

What is your car putting down now with the BNR's ?

Good seeing you as well my friend, quite the beaut of an FD you've got there and you certainly put the time into her as well.

Right now, she's at 371 rwhp but I know that ain't right, she's scary fast, pulling harder than ever before. The really impressive thing about them though is that they widened the powerband considerably. More torque down low and the peak torque went from 6800 to about 7700! We had originally set the reline @ 7500 and when we started tuning the higher rev/load sites we noticed that the torque still hadn't peaked when I let off and stopped recording.... so we upped the rev limit and were like :drool5:

You can't see it in the pic, but there's a knife in my pocket and people were warned before hand

I'll get pics up eventually, calm yourself kitten.

And while a small single might make more peak HP, we can overlay them and see the area under the curve..... and in that respect Twins>Single

as fast as either of our cars spool up how much time is under the curve? your car will be sick when the 6 spd goes in with the 4.30 gears you may need to run stickier rubber on the rear full-time just to keep it pointed straight

do you have a picture of the dyno run?

FC3S Murray 05-10-2011 11:22 AM

Nice work Brian! So what are you final torque numbers? 380ft/lbs to the wheels now? That would be AWESOME given rotaries usually lack in that department. It is soooooo f*cking sweet how these cars scoot when they have that much torque at the wheels. My bastard motor puts 350 ft/lbs down at 2.5K and stays up there and climbs(393) until 5.5k..it is crazy fast. Yours should be even sweeter since your exhaust note is total bliss and NOT blashphamy haha

BNR stage 2?

send me a PM with your address. I want to get you back your DVD's bro, came across them in the garage last night while cleaning up that shit-hole.

To_Slow 05-10-2011 01:39 PM

It was nice checking out your FC first hand, lots of creativity and labor of love went in it. Was nice talking with ya to.. Will catch up some more next year.:)

I almost do now! But the Direzza Z1SS's seems to get stickier the more I run them.... or maybe it's just me zero'ing in on the right setup in the rear:p

I don't, but I'll be back there real soon to get some pics, some vids, and I think I'll have Dave overlay my last run with 2GSLSE's last run so we can make some real comparisions and see where we're at

Stage 3 ;) The latest and greatest! no worries, i also gotta get those sleeves back from ya as well, going to need them for the 'vert motor in the coming weeks and it seems that all I'm disassembling lately have been n/a motors and I'm out of sleeves :(

That's an asston of torque nicely done! My peak torque was around 300 I think, but that's with the thing putting down 371 which just doesn't feel right. I dunno, I've got a playdat setup with Dave a week from tomorrow so we'll see where we're at... hopefully.

It was awesome chatting with you as well man. Thanks for the kind words, we've definately got to catch up some more next year, we did not have enough time, especially if/when you've got your beast in attendance. I've got to make sure I'm down there 2 days early too. I didn't spend nearly enough time hanging out and bullshitting outside the show, and spent too much time fixing cars, my own included.... silly wheel bearings

TitaniumTT 05-10-2011 08:43 PM

Sooooooooooooooo perhaps I should post up the POST DGRRXI to-do list :D

1) CLEAN!!!!!! Compound front bumper and get rid of the impregnated bugs, cut and buff the hood, clear out the empty RedBull Cans

2) 6-spd!! Yes, it's done and ready to be installed so I can hunt down and kill the vibration

3) Belly Pan

4) New Rad Shroud

5) Brake Ducting

6) Little more fab left on the Bumper support

7) Re-Adjust the hatch latch :banghead: First trip off the highway heading to DGRRXI and the trunk popped open

8) New Hatch Cable

9) Fix Fuel Gauge

10) Cupholders - shut up all!

11) Remote Start needs to be programmed

12) Properly Working Windshield wipers

13) Nozzles in the cowl

14) New SS Clutch Hardline

15) Vacuum Block

16) Touch myself

17) Wire up the Highbeams.... oops

18) New Door panels

19) New shift, ebrake, and center console boots

20) New Brake pads in the front

21) Fire Extinguisher

All in all though, I got just about everything accomplished for DGRRXI that I wanted.... but I gauruntee that there will be another laundry list in 7 months.... After all that's done, I'm going to redo the intake piping to match the BNR's inducer better. I think there's a few ponies to be had there :suspect:
