My 93 FD

FD3sAutobot 02-04-2009 08:42 PM

Got my FD shipped to my house today :302:. Sorry about the pics, my wife took them and she's not into the whole "taking pictures of a car." I've got a little less than 60 days here in Iraq......these pictures are a HUGE tease. My wife even sent me a picture of her sitting in the drivers seat.....she knew what she was doing!

hey autobot, I got my first FD while i was in Iraq as well. It was picked up early July, I didn't get home until early Oct. It was hanging out at my brothers house and he sent me pictures of it sitting there, looking all lonely...and then one of his great dane in my drivers seat!!!

When I got home and saw the car, I ran about 100 yds with my fully packed sea bag on my back just so i could see it in person. I didn't even drop my seabag, just started walking around it looking at it, waiting on my brother to catch up and hand me the key.

Very nice looking car Autobot! Is this at Campbell?

FD3sAutobot 02-04-2009 09:14 PM

Man, when I get home I have to wait a couple weeks to go pick it up in NC. I'll be in FT. Campbell, KY.....It's gonna suck. I can't act all crazy to go get it though or else the wife is going to be like "oh I see how it is, 12 months in Iraq and the first thing you wanna do it go drive your RX-7 huh?!" :302:

Cool FD! Can you get your wife to take an engine shot? Sorry I know that's asking too much. Thanks for taking care of our country!:icon_tup::patriot:

There's not much under the hood. Everything is pretty much stock except for the apexi intakes, the removed IC duct and an R1 strut bar. She also has an aftermarket exhaust...seller said HKS..I won't know till I come home. The motor is a reman with about 12000 miles. Over the next 2 months while I'm still deployed I'll be ordering some reliability mods and such. :001_302:

Here's a picture under the hood from the previous owner...

Not too pretty now I know, I'll be adding a few things here and there when I get back :)

Brent 02-05-2009 02:37 PM

I'm sure you already know this... but you really need to get a duct on that intercooler as fast as you can. That is really going to raise your AIT's. I'm guessing the previous owner had an aftermarket intercooler and sold it before you purchased it?

FD3sAutobot 02-05-2009 04:24 PM

I was thinking he might have too. I'm either going to be looking for a used stock ducting or a nice SMIC setup. I'm not really worried about it right now. It's not being driven, and my dad is warming it up once or twice a week until I get back.
