Had to get off throttle in 4th as it was drifting towards the wall..

Holy cow! Have a video of that one?

sk8world 06-02-2009 11:44 PM

Phil got 2 passes for me. First is the 10.67 and the second is better video but an 11.1 pass. Wish you could here me getting on and off the throttle in 4th as it would show it had more in that pass.

All I have is an 1/8 mile time. I ran an 8.9@77 with a 2.1 60'. I used the time calculator on here and it said 13.9@95. Now for the car details.....

1983 LE
Street ported 13b repu(supposedly)
Dual webber carbs
Racing beat header and pre slilencer. After the silencer it goes into a stock 1st gen muffler.
The car has been stripped for autocross. I think it weighs just under 2200lbs.
Stock transmission
Stock GSL limited slip with 3.91's
Stock 13" wheels with 7 year old proxie road race compound tires.

That is what was done when I made my pass. Since then I recently put in GSL-SE gears, which are 4.08 I think? I noticed a difference but have not been to the track yet.

congrats on a nice pass for a NA car! About time this thread got bumped! I was wondering if everyone quite racing....

jbrozak 07-21-2009 07:50 AM

Im getting ready to put a fuel cell in it soon. Not sure how much weight I will save getting rid of the 16.5 steel for a 12 plastic, but every pound counts when the car is already this light. That with the new gears, Im hoping to get at least an 8.80 out of it. Then I would hope for sure that I could break into the 13's NA in the 1/4. The funny thing is, this car is more built for autox then drag. It has tokico illuminas, eibach springs, aftermarket sway bars, and strut tower brace.

sk8world 07-22-2009 09:31 PM

work on that 60 footer. Thats 99% of 1/8th mile racing. Whatever you can take off the 2.1 will also come off the big end, double off in the 1/4 mile. So you pull a 1.7 on the same pass as before it would yield a 8.5 1/8th and a 13.1 on the 1/4.

What do you suggest for help in hooking? The car is mainly set up for autocross and I like it that way. Im not looking to change out the rear end or rear suspension. I suppose the easy way is to run some small slicks or drag radials?

sk8world 07-23-2009 09:04 AM

if you have a solid rear you could do the radials but I would go with the bias ply "ET STREETS" ......

I little fun from last weekend. Didnt go any better than 6.9's but I was consistant! Still lots of wheels spin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwlsvRNZp_k

So does anyone drag race anymore? Maybe we should delete this thread!

^ I'm going tonight to run.
The temps down here have cooled off some.
Hoping for a low, low 12 or high 11 :driving:

Gonna try launching the car alittle harder, Hope i dont break anything.

estevan62274 08-26-2009 10:03 PM

Best time of the night was
12.3@113. Not bad for 12psi

I need to shift better/faster
I know she has a 11.9 in her at this current boost

Four rx7s were there and all but mine were V8's
My poor rotary was all alone

sk8world 08-26-2009 10:25 PM

Glad to see you racing it. Get that 11. If you brake something you can fix it, right.... Just drive it like you stole it

I might try and make a pass or 2 Friday night. 1/8th mile thu...
