What's the latest on body work and why did you need a new rotor?

FC Zach 11-29-2017 10:01 AM

No need as of now.

FC Zach 11-29-2017 10:01 AM

Just gas up and go ;)

djmtsu 11-29-2017 10:28 AM

Waiting on Xmas parts.

He needs these new wheels to finish the fenders. The rear will be almost 3" wider than stock. If I choose to go with more power later, I can stuff a full 12" tire back there.

We only had 2 9.7 rotors for the build, so I needed a third. The Goopy 10mm 17pc engine studs should be ready for shipping by Friday. The Pineapple Racing 1 piece dowel is already with Myles. I'm not sure if the irons are with mazmart for lapping any large street porting yet.

The only real unknown left at this point is if we can get a custom front counterweight to run the renesis front cover, or if I need to order a couple more parts from Pro-Maz for the 8's AC adapter, and CAS sensor adapter. CAS may not matter as much with the full standalone ECU.

I need to order the Adaptronic stand alone soonish.

man it should look good after body work,

Could you not use the rotors that came with your engine?

and i thought you was going with haltech?

almoststockfc 11-29-2017 03:01 PM

Just got back from the shop we got out MTRCC shirts printed from. Anyone interested in a hat or 2? Min order of 4 and with all charges and fees they end up being about $25 each. Our logo will be stitched onto the front and looks really nice.

I could have used the stock rotors, but they're 9.1, and I wanted higher compression since it was NA, so we got a set of 9.7.

The new Adaptronic is plug and play with the RX8 including the CAN bus systems. It also supports up to a 4 rotor. So all I have to do is re-wire 2 of the RX8 AUX valves to run the 2 extra ignition channels, and I don't even have to change out the engine harness to run the 20b. It's a $4k cut out of the budget for now. I'll pretty it up a little more later. Right now, I'm more worried about either running out of money, or it not being done in time.

Mine still has some quirks but I'm pretty comfortable driving it around town. Still have a funky vibration going on and a surging idle. Thought it might have been the BAC sticking but I unplugged it and it still happens. I actually plugged it back in the morning and right before I got the connector back on i heard something click and the idle settled. So confused.. but anyway, I'm about order:

Exedy Stage 1 clutch
Light flywheel
Slave cylinder
SS line
Counterweight

I'd be in for a hat. What are the chances we could get zip up or pull over hoodies?

Known issues
• Needs upper and lower ball joints
• Steering stabilizer
• Brake master
• Rear brake lines hooked up
• Alignment
• Tires
• Oil pressure gauge hooked up
• Front 4x4 hub actuator needs looking into

Last weekend we cleaned up the janky wiring and engine bay some.

Had around 8-10 connectors that looked like this. Not connector or tape on them.

This is how the light bar switch was hooked up.

Lol, I know and wow.

So if yall aren’ working on your cars and trucks, what have yall been doing besides trying to buy used golf carts?

djmtsu 12-06-2017 12:27 PM

Collecting parts.

I have to rely on Xmas and birthdays to get parts now.

We built a shed from scratch and I was able to fill it with all my spare parts and extra stuff like lawn mower and golf cart, engine hoist, and other random in-the-way crap. We now have an attic and I can now park my car in the garage

Now saving for big garage to be built :D

FC Zach 12-06-2017 03:25 PM

What are your plans for this truck? Keeping the 4Runner?

Getting settled in the new house. I have room to work on everything now, just haven't made the time. Been riding / racing my bike lately.

Make it reliable, put some mud tires on it and let Charles take it wheeling with me or anyone else that wants to go wheeling but doesn't have a rig.

I'm about ready to give up on my idea to use the Renesis front cover. I wanted to, but can't find someone to make me a front counterweight...

Chris can make you a cradle or motor mounts. No sweat.
