I finally got one. A SA22C
Here's some pics at the original owners house.

The engine fells very strong. All it really needs is some new paint since it's been left outside. But the underbody looks almost mint. The odometer say 27XXX (the SA odometer only shows 5 digits). We thought the true milage was 127,XXX but with the condition of the under body and wheel wells leads my friend and I to believe it really only has 27,XXX. But the only thing I plan to do to it is a -SE suspension swap but I'm not gonna touch anything else. |
Nice find man! One way to determine if the odo has rolled over is by judging the amount of wear on the pedals. :)
. |
The pedals looked new. The tires are showing some dry rot but they still have dimples on them from when they were new.
What tires are on them? Another easy way to tell... at 127K+ mileage they wouldnt be factory tires (or even tires you could probably buy anymore)
I'll check once I get back to the garage. I found a bunch a paper work and the original bill of sale tucked away under the ash tray.
Edit, I'm pretty sure the original tires will not be on this car. It rains so much and it gets extremely hot within mins here. Since the car sat outside with it's original owner, I'd imagine the tires would of been dry rotted by the time the second owner (who I bought it from) got it. Then they turned around and let it sit after driving it for a year (High school car). |
good find. looks clean in pics. i didnt really even notice any dents!
Nice! Shit's hot.
Really nice find.
I'm jealous. You ARE bringing this to DGRR next year, right?
^Idk. I'm torn between which seven I should mod and which one to restore fully. The red one or the grey one. The red one has some rust but I ran into a body guy that says it'll be an easy fix since he doesn't think it's that bad. And I got a quote to get this one repainted (the original color) and I can afford it right now but I'm gonna wait before doing it.
It'll probably will be the grey one. |
I have the se swap if you need it and a nice set of wheels to go with it. pm me if your interested.
There's a few junk'd GSL SE's around here that I can buy and raid. Unless you're offering a really nice deal or something.
Nice 1stgen.
mine have new hardware like ss brake lines, new rotors, hawk pads and painted and powder coated parts so im offering redone parts but thats about it :)
So I finally got this thing around to driving condition. The old owner didn't really know what was wrong with the car. A master cylinder and a new fuel filter later, I was redlining that car through some back roads. Now that i have a 12a and a 13b first gen, the 12a is extremely slow in stock form when compared to the 13b. i guess that .1 liter and fuel injection makes that much of a difference.
its weird how little things like that make it feel so much different. i test drove a stock FC for a friend and it felt like a pig compared to mine and all i had done was full exhaust and intake.
We need burnout pics to confirm it runs.
I don't think it makes enough power for that......... yet
With shitty tires, anything is possible ;)
I picked up a LSD with disc brakes for a 12a car, a 3 pieces IMSA spoiler, another nikki carb,3 LE waffle wheels (I'm looking for a 4th), and miscellaneous trim pieces.
I'm going to attempt to rebuild the carb but if I fail, I'll be sending it to sterling. |
most awesome hubs caps ever?? yes.

^You have no idea I have heard that in the last few weeks  The mooneyes are staying until they start warping my brakes once i get around to adding moar powah.
Thanks AJ. I lucked out and found it by accident. Still needs quite of bit of work though. |
