Well that's what i named him, yeah my car is a him. When i was going to buy the car most of my friends and family told me not to. So why not name it after a luck dragon. Anyways here's what it's gone through so far.

I bought it in April of 05 and my aim was for 400hp by 2011. It is now 2011 and i'm close (I think) but not quite there.

When i first got him home

So i had to use an old blue coupler i had that's a bit smaller i'm sure it will work right but i need to find something else. You can see the silver washer looking thing on the blue i couldn't get that piece on the black coupler

Main power and main ground just left to run and a retune yaaa

Force13b 02-10-2011 03:44 PM

My first Dyno season was fun but my car was being a POS. First off i drove all the way to Palm springs on 1 rotor. Yeah i screwed up some wiring on my coils so 1 rotor was not working. Lets just say it was 1 of the most painful drives i have ever made. I felt like a Top Gear presenter, you know when they screw up and cars are all backed up behind them. Yeah that was me Laughing

I made it to my buddy's house at like 11:45 we got the coil issue figured out by like 130 ish and did some street tuning. During our street tune i'm sitting passenger seat. Glenn's (my friend) is doing like 100 and i see a little bunny come bounding out of the desert. I calmly say "Bunny" it runs out and runs smack into the side of my car  Glenn barely swerved which i thanked him for, plow that stupid bunny don't spin us out into the desert at 100mph. I start laughing my ass off we go down and come back doing another pull and the bunny was gone. The fucker lived after running smack into the side of my car. We didn't get done tell like 3:00am. I woke up at like 530am and couldn't go back to sleep. We ended up leaving for the Dyno at like 730.

Dyno session didn't pan out though my car was being a little bitch. The ECU kept disconnecting from the laptop as soon as they started going. It was pulling hard friday night when we were street tuning it. I'm really not sure what's wrong with it. Here is the best video of my car from Saturday.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnP0cQ_jKDI
FIRE

We tried for about an hour and a half to get it to act like it's suppose to and it never did. The best pull i got was a 203hp at 6k rpm's Crying or Very sad The dyno graph was very sergey and all over the place. Hopefully i'll have it figured out by next month and do another dyno season.

djmtsu 02-11-2011 07:49 AM

I give you a break Brian since your FC was temporarily a 6spd.

There is a way to pop the glass out. I remember when Phil's FD had an RX-8 shift knob that had a piece of CF sticker under the glass to cover the 6spd pattern. The metal trim on top is just glued on, so you can pry it off and then re-glue it too.

Talk to Glennypoo about it... as I'm assuming he's the one that talked you into the FPSI

Again with the acronyms. I'm guessing FPSI is fuel pressure and actually he didn't. When i setup my fuel system i got done setting the 40psi at idle and shut the hood and thought lota good that gauge does. Did some reading found the pick up and ran some wires.

As for EMAP i honestly don't know what that would do for me. Enlighten me o mighty one. As long as i can get a 0-5v pickup i'm sure i could wire it into the haltech

Acrynoms are good... get up on them YLCSP

EMAP is nice for tuning for a few reasons.... specifically for you and I, it allows us to see a better place to run the transition. There comes a point when the EMAP gets so high the turbo's are basically a cork in the exhaust killing power. Using the EMAP to set the transition allows for tuning a smoother one.

EMAP is also nice for tuning timing and you can use it to trim fuel while cruising.... but that's fancy Motec shit

My EMAP sensor is the same as yours and my MAP sensor, just plumbed differently

Acronyms sucks i work for a DoD contractor i hear enough of them at work.

I'm not sequential so i don't have a transition. But i see what your saying. So you run a basic 3bar GM MAP but run what a braided line from your DP into it?

Why bother with twins if they're non-sequential? I've been there and yeah its smooth, but damn that kick in the ass <2.5k is awesome

Running EMAP in the DP could be useful info, but it wouldn't help with the tuning aspect of it, the line needs to be pre-turbo. I've got an SS 1/8" to -3 adapter threaded into the manifold. From there I've got 2' of SS brake line. At the end of that is a female -3. Then 8" of -3 braided with a male crimped on one end, and a female on the other. The MAP sensor is mounted in a billet mount threaded for 1/8" npt, so you just thread your adapter in there and the braided line screws on. The nipple on the actual sensor presses into an o-ring in the mount, trick little piecem eliminates all the fluctuations and shit you get from vaccuum tubing and the chances of the line getting pierced or blowing off are basically nill.

sequential is fine... as long as you never spool the 2nd turbo... but after you play above 4000 (4500??) WOT, one turbo between 2500 -> 4000 (4500??) is just lag!!!

and of course, if you happen to be partial throttle... because, i dont know, you're playing in the mountains, you hit the tranisition point of the turbos and you don't have enough exhaust flow so you go from 7-8 lbs on one turbo to 0 LBS! on both turbos..and the car falls on its face...

and let's not even talk about what happens when your in the middle of a curve and the 2nd turbo decides it's time to spool!!! previous owner's hubby got a little scared when i did that... twice...

Because i couldn't afford a single at the time

I don't know if i'm sophisticated enough to pull something like that off. Perhaps something i'll look into when i get to single turboing the car
