My Friday Morning drive...
 

Well, This is what I'm thinking about doing on Friday Morning.... Again, this is NOT part of the event.. just my personal drive for Friday.. You guys can follow this map and do it on your own.

A = NVNC
B = Fontana Dam

Distance = Approx. 137 miles

This will cover pretty much the best roads in the country... Part of 'Hell Bender - US28' (good warm up), Skyway with 5000ft elevation change, and finish towards the end with 'Tail of the Dragon' and best part of 'Hell Bender'.

I was going to leave around 8AM and get to the Dam around 12:45PM... Early 30 min to an hour lunch around 11AM and fill up with gas at the main town.

We'll stop 2-3 times on the Skyway... for 5-15min each.

Again, this isn't set in stone as I have to see how much I get done on thursday and if volunteers are ok with me doing this... Also, this will be a fairly fast paced run...

Damn, thats a georgous course. I love hell bender, and the skyway is intense, always fun driving through the cool clouds.

That looks like a great route, I might have to join you guys. Given that it's going to be a busy traffic weekend in the area, with all the other car clubs in town, Friday AM will probably be our best opportunity to enjoy those roads. :driving:

Bad News guys...

I started feeling bad yesterday morning and now I feel so bad that I decided not to take the FD to DGRR. Since I'm not going to have a car, I can't do this Friday Morning drive. But I highly encourage others to do it.

Dude, that sucks beyond words. I am so sorry you are feeling bad. Maybe the hum of all of the other cars will perk you up. I am sure someone would lend you a ride ...:) If you want to run an FE let me know and I can hook you up with mine, though it is a far cry from the FD.
