BLK FC3S 04-02-2008 06:47 AM

SoGlow7 04-02-2008 08:45 PM

MaczPayne 04-02-2008 11:19 PM

He'd win the burnout competition though!

Damn, that's a clean ass car.

Nopis1O 04-04-2008 03:10 PM

someone pick this up. its like the ultimate def. of sleeper. glwts man.

BLK FC3S 04-07-2008 08:16 PM

G damn, I'd trade the car for the girl in your avatar. hmmmm

yea, the car has been available for awhile and I've had a bunch of offers but I am not desperate to sell it. In the words of Tom Hanks in The Terminal "I WAIT"

good movie

Anyways, thanks guys. I have been driving the car a little more frenquently so it is coming up on 120k miles.

Iox106 04-08-2008 03:42 PM

What size is the intercooler on that thing? Cant believe you havent sold it. Its such a nice car.

BLK FC3S 04-09-2008 09:57 AM

http://titanmotorsports.com/prin.html

Its the 600hp intercooler from precision. It fits behind the bumper perfectly.

I've had offers on the car but nothing close to my asking price yet. I'm willing
to trade for a good condition, close to stock 3rd gen as well.

Iox106 04-09-2008 01:26 PM

Great i was planning on getting that intercooler and just wanted to know how well it fit. Good Luck wit the sale. If I had the money that sucker would be gone a long time ago.

Rotaryrocket FC 04-09-2008 06:03 PM

Beautiful Car man.

Its just the wrong time for me to jump on it.
Maybe if you still have it in a month?

stylEmon 04-10-2008 05:55 PM

Super clean ride... def needs wider tires tho!!

djmtsu 04-10-2008 07:05 PM

I am still waiting to win the lottery. When I do, you will be getting a call.

BLK FC3S 04-21-2008 05:59 PM

I'm taking reasonable offers on it right now. I want a new toy.

bad stuff to any potential buyer....
There has been a slight tap on the rear of the car flaking off paint of the bumper, cracked passenger tailight, and dent above tailight. It has scratches here and there, I can take pictures of all the bad parts of the paint maybe tommorrow.

WTH was that squeak in your walk around clip? The hood rod squeaking in the slot???

IS the 20B ported at all? And I would assume stock twin turbos? I would also assume the Microtech wouldn't have any problem managing everything if it were to be switched to a nice single turbo (I have done zero research on the capabilities of the Microtech)? And lastly, can you PM or post me some history on the when the swap was done and where the 20b came from etc...?

Sorry for hammering you with so many questions, I'm debating on this car and one other.

Yes, it is still basically all stock motor, no porting, stock twins, even still has stock BOV's. Single turbo is no problem with the microtech. With the new LTX12s, it can even control coils without the need for a seperate controller (ie: an msd DIS 4/6). I plan on going single, but I was waiting on A-spec to make a turbo kit for me. I hope someone buys it before then so I can save my money. :)
Here's a link to the car's history.

I read the through the entire thread on the "other" forum about some of the issues you've had. You made mention in many of your early posts about the reliable power of the car, but then later in the thread you said you are looking for something more reliable. I understand you are referencing the consistantancy of the power and the reliability of the vehicle are two different things and I know that you have had your hiccups with the car, but could you elaborate on that a little?

I didn't see it posted anywhere about the suspension, but I assume the suspension is stock? IIRC, you said the chassis has somewhere around 130k? And, for the love of the rotary, please remove that Greddy-style neck and send it to me so that I make you a nice one. Whoever welded that thing needs to never try and weld aluminum again (sorry man, I do this stuff for a living....you have such a nice setup and that thing is an eyesore).

Please don't take any of this as me bustin' balls here. I had already thought if I bought the car, I might fly down there and drive it back. Would you recommend me just bring a trailer? It would be about an 8 hour drive back. again, not trying to offend, just trying to make sure I know what I'd be getting. You have the car that I have wanted to build build for many years.

Todd B.

jtbshaw 09-28-2008 05:16 PM

Oh, and it appears that the vehicle still needs a boost controller? I know you just installed the FPR, did you install a gauge as well? And, lastly, so that I'm not bogging the thread down with questions, could you elaborate on the fuel system? IOW, other than the supra pump, is the system stock or do you have larger supply and return lines, what size, what size primaries are you running, etc...?

fire85gslse 09-28-2008 06:20 PM

Ouch, man I need to sell something quick so I can buy this.
Gotta get the rotary bike, the kawasaki, the gsl-se, the 90 gtu, etc listed for sale........

Sell me the FD Chad......can I haz????

BLK FC3S 09-29-2008 06:09 AM

-Reliability I was refering to was better gas mileage and something the family could fit in. I guess I should have said more practical. The RX-7 is a typical 20 yr old car that will have its "hiccups" but it is as reliable as any other FC out there. All depends on how you drive it I guess. I baby mine so it really hasn't had many issues. In fact the only issue I can think of was the water pump going bad. I drove it to work for 2 weeks putting about 600 miles on it and it never left me on the side of the road, just many gas gas stations. :)

- Suspension is stock with tociko blue shocks. Rides real nice and still can carve up the turns.

-That is the stock 20B intake elbow I think you are refering too that was modified and welded horribly, I agree. It works though.

-I think it would make an 8 hour drive, I would let it rest every 2 hours or so though. At highway speeds and the TII gearing, its turning some RPMs (4k at 80mph) so it does build up some heat. Especially with the A/C running.

-Still no boost controller, I've looked into buying one but it really wouldn't benifit me any. The car has enough power as it is for me.

-Fuel system: Supra fuel pump, stock location with stock lines, SX FPR, 1600 secondaries, stock 550 primaries and yes, there is a gauge under the hood for the FPR. It was originally inside the car but that isn't very smart to run fuel into the car.

Anymore questions feel free to ask away. I know there will be alot, I expect it with a car of this nature.

BLK FC3S 09-29-2008 06:13 AM

Other questions that have been asked:

- Yes all the interior works like it did from the factory. I left most of the stock harness attached so the wipers and A/C would work. Riding in the car, you wouldn't know that the car wasn't stock. Even the exhaust sounds quiet.

jtbshaw 09-29-2008 12:09 PM

Seriously, thanks for the reply. I hope I didn't come across strongly. I would really like to purchase this, but I have to determine whether or not I can get off of the cash. Let me see what I can put together and I will contact you soon.

Even the factory retracting seat belts work? If so, that's crazy! If I don't get this car, someone should grab this up. I think very few truly understand what is involved with doing this swap. There's no way that this swap can be completed for this price, with these components...even if someone owned the perfect 2nd gen. This is a good deal!

jtbshaw 09-29-2008 12:13 PM

Oh, and the elbow, if you want to send that thing to me, I will make you one for cost. I will guarantee it will look tremendously better than that.

BLK FC3S 09-30-2008 05:07 AM

Funny you should mention the seat belts, I just went to the dealer yesterday to have new seat belts installed per the factory lifetime recall. They tried fighting it till I called mazda headquarters. They are ordering me the parts today.

So no, they don't work right now but yes, they will be working here shortly.

As far as the elbow goes, it would be hard to find another 20B elbow for you to modify for me. It really doesn't bother me much. I could just grind down the ugly welds and try to make it look smooth if I wanted too. Maybe a weekend job for me this weekend.

One thing I haven't mentioned is the cruise control is not hooked up. It would need a custom cable made from the controller to the TB. Otherwise it is all there intact. Also the ABS has been removed from the car. Just two things I was thinking about missing from the car to make it factory.
