Check it out.

I offered him $5000 cash and he refused.

not a good deal even at 5K

85rx-7gsl-se 07-06-2011 03:17 PM

This guy is on Tennspeed. From what I get this car has sat for a long time beside a shop and he managed to convince them to sell it to him. Funny thing was there was a line of folks that were "gonna" buy it but no one went through. Personally its a $3500 car.

My5ABaby 07-06-2011 03:25 PM

I saw it and thought it could be a good deal if he was willing to come down a bit.

Nothing? Really? OK, I'll be serious

I'd have to say it's a $4k car. Paint is horrible, interior is meh, engine clearly puked, definitely not a perfect candidate for a V8 though. Honestly, assuming nothing else is horribly wrong with it, the right person could put $1k and a weekend into it and have a running FD.

djmtsu 07-06-2011 09:36 PM

And that is why its a good deal. The only other decent FD's around here for sale are over $10K, and both are automatics.

So, I will restate it, its a good deal. And if my BMW was sold, I would buy it for the wife.

Of course, the red has to go.

TitaniumTT 07-06-2011 10:09 PM

You've been trying to sell that BMW for a while...... 20B swap?

djmtsu 07-07-2011 07:27 AM

Lol! The Z3 is a beast.

I had to take it off market for a while to straighten out the ABS and Air Bag lights on the dash. They came on when the battery was changed, for no reason. Typical BMW.

TitaniumTT 07-07-2011 08:13 AM

Don't tell me that shit, I'm keeping a watchfull eye out for an E46

rdgt99 07-07-2011 08:37 AM

Which E46 Brian?

Herblenny 07-07-2011 08:48 AM

I thought about this car... but wife will kill me..

85rx-7gsl-se 07-07-2011 09:56 AM

I wonder how much he paid for it.

djmtsu 07-07-2011 10:04 AM

Well, when I first inquired about it, he said he had it sold for $6k. Although if I had gotten to him first, it he would take $5K. Now he has it for $5800 firm.

My only worry is that he has been messing with it, and the blown rotor/housing/irons are destroyed. Who knows.

With a car like that, personally I would assume it needs a whole new engine and buy accordingly. Add $3k to the total price to assume a running car. So $9,000 for a freshly rebuilt FD, with 72k on the clock, moderate interior, and terrible paint. Not a bad deal, but not good. However, if it turns out it's a $1k rebuild, makes things a lot better but I'd have a hard time assuming that.

See that is my point. I know on Tennspeed two or three people showed extreme interest but then fell off which makes me think this car isnt such a cream puff lol.

Meh. Its only a good deal if he sells it for 4-5k... which he isn't.

1K (in just the engine) might get it running.. running being the key word... Its still in shitty shape and needs more $$ to be a nice car.

I'm at an advantage and I say $1k because I've got all the hard parts I could need, (except irons) in the basement, so seal kit, all new side/corner/apex/oil control blah blah and I'd be good to go.... STRAIGHT TO THE SANDING!
