Waking up the FD, the rebuild of car and life
I am moving my build thread over here, so bare with me abit here, lots of pics and posts inc :coolgleamA:
|
Ok, so i was bored outta my head and have a bad back at the moment, blown through all the newspapers, forums and internet-games, so i decided to make a small worklog on my FD. Feel free to post suggestions, better solutions etc, thats what forums are for
Translating my worklog from norwegian to english now, so the first few posts might be abit misleading regarding time spent, work etc.. Short story, the last 2,5 years has been a living nightmare for me. While work has been a madness the last 4-5 years, with sick work hours, bad management and selv-centered bosses and leaders wearing out people in their 20s so bad they get sick for months and dont care to replace em or pay the ones hanging in there good money, i have this self-pride in what i do, and i will go to any means to get the work done. It wears you down bit by bit, but you hang in there for the others and try to keep em afloat and on their feet. the management takes advantage of this and put more work on us, selv pride kicks in, we manage, and so the evil circle has been drawn... the downward spiral... First, the FD broke down due to a waterseal blown on a mazda reman engine. Picked the engine down, when i suddenly and unexpectedly lost a close friend of mine. He`d killed himself for reasons nobody knew about and nobody knows about this day. Barely got inside the front door from the funeral when i got another phonecall, a friend of mine had died in a car accident, so new funeral... cant get any worse..? A short while later, i lost a dear family member to brain anurism after decades of diabetes-years.... Then, a while later i had to go through a loong fight with insurance company about a drywall behind the kitchen that had been waterdamaged.. Me and my girlfriend had bought a house, everything seemed fine, until i one day got curious about the back wall underneath the sink.. It was completely soaked and molded..... as im allergic and have astma, i cant live in a house like that, so we used all our savings and fixed the wall, and then take the fight with the insurancecompany... finally got it sorted after months... and then she dropped the bomb on me.. Its over, she didnt wanna be with me anymore... I hit the wall...bad...! Buried myself in work, more work, cut contact with all of my friends, and just lived under the radar for 1,5 years, staid with friends and family, while she(my ex) stayed in the house... finally, after 1,5 years, she contacted me and said she`d moved out and someone needs to live in the house... I moved in, and decided to keep the house... So, i bought her out and now own a house of my own, 30 years old. 135 sq.metres, double garage, 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, dining room, seaside view, beach 5 mins down the road... LOVE IT! So, to "refurbish and renovate" my own life, i started fixing up my house, and "renovate" her out of the house... Walked into the garage a week after i`d moved in again, and sat down and just looked at my downed poor FD sitting there... And decided that house is house, it will have to wait... I need the FD on the road again to move on and get myself sorted once again...! So, i began the restauration and rebuild of my old FD, and see it as "therapeutic" selv-help...! Plans: Car, 1993 silver touring FD. Painted it spirit R grey. Engine and surroundings: Streetport 13B rew, built by Banzai racing. RA black superseals, TII lowcomp rotors etc. KG 850/1600 fuel setup with walboro 400pump rewired. HKS twin power with LS/yukon coils, 11" raceplugs and FAT magnecor coilwires Big FMIC kit big radiator 3" turboback exhaust from GP-sports BNR stage 3s in seq mode, going to push em to the max(21psi area) AEM water injection setup Apexi PFC and commander with datalogit Innovate LM-1 wideband, wired to the datalogit Blitz SBC-ID dual boostcontroller with a Blitz datalogger on the side. Aezknights simplified viton seal industrial strength solenoid setup with viton checkvalves etc(100psi setup) Self-designed oil baffle pan with one-way valves to keep oil centered by the pickup at all times. Fuel baffle setup suspension and braces: Yellow koni shocks, Eibach springs Tanabe rollbars a known brand of strutbraces front and back, yet to be decided. dragon performance diff-brace and gearbox brace Polybushes diffmount and enginemounts Wheels and brakes: RO_JA R2 rims 9x8 front on 245s, 10x18 rear on 275s. standard FD brakes Drivetrain: FD gearbox Kaaz 1,5 way diff, with new seals, bearings etc. Looks: 99spec front 99spec wing with carbon winglip Feed side underskirts in carbon shine auto street diffuser rear. 99spec lights CF hood Prolly a ton of things ive left out or forgotten, but im going for a mild and "stock" look with small touchups. enginebay will be simple black on black with no crome. Reason for this is simple. My car is imported on a silly rule that states that the car has to appear original to keep its plates... If im busted by the vehicle inspectors with this setup, im screwed and have to put it all back to original state again.. So, fingers crossed Starting point: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../rx7_yvind.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...n/Bilde068.jpg |
GPsports midpipe and back. Nice and shiney!!! Nomatter WHAT the ladies says, boys... Size matters...ALLWAYS!!! :D
Or maybe im just compensating for a small displacement...? :D http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...idpipeback.jpg Using a well known measuring stick: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../rx7deler2.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../rx7deler5.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../rx7deler7.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../rx7deler8.jpg Diffbrace and transmission brace from dragon performance http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../rx7deler1.jpg Innovative LM1 wideband http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/rx7deler.jpg |
New radiator, shiney things....! Again, a well known measuring unit :D

BNR stage 3 seqs, old news perhaps, but still gold news..! ;)
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde001-2.jpg rewelded Efini Ypipe http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde002-3.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde003-4.jpg efini crosspipe: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde004-4.jpg seals: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde005-3.jpg Soooo beautiful..!: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde006-4.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde012-2.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde010-2.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde009-2.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde007-3.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...bilde011-2.jpg |
Finally, we bought the house and i have a nice garage to do work on my cars..!
Started taring down the engine from the top, just to inspect, study and have a look. The engine blew a waterseal, so complete stripdown is in order. As i dont have an engine lift available now, ill start with the stripdown while the engine is in the car... MILLIONS of clips and connectors, crisp dry wires and bonehard small hoses and crap...! This has a mazda reman engine in it, but it appears that the people that swapped the engine, pulled loose the clips and connectors by pulling the wires.. wich exposed the copper... that started to erode in the seaside salty weathercondidions... And having a lol-vented hood alowing water to drip down on wires and connectors probably havent helped much... a new wiring harness is in order..! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_7284.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_7286.jpg hmnmm, no wonder it started to leak water on that last trip..! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_7287.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_7288.jpg the infamous "crows nest" DjeeeZUZ...! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_7291.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_7292.jpg |
discovered why the car leaked a small amount of steering fluid I believe... the old owner(norwegian with a barn) had mice...!
The window-washer hose had also been chewed over. I really hope the steering rack has survived, i dont dare thing how expensive this thing is.. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7295.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7296.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7297.jpg A nice treat of a radiator suddenly appeared from the deep darks of the engine bay: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7298.jpg The only rust on the car, to be fixed with an engine bay respray in satin black for clean and neat looks, while keeping it "inspection friendly" http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7300.jpg Yes, we defo need new wiring harness...! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7302.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7301.jpg engine out http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7303.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7304.jpg Took me a fair bit of swaring, a phonecall and a glance at a youtube vid before i understood the clutchthing on this car..! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7309.jpg the end http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7310.jpg |
striped down the engine to shortblock... and tilted the engine over...
this is what came out of the exhaust ports, minus the oil... http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_7322.jpg waterseal much ye...! Nice sound from the engine too, ayeh? See vid, sounds like a blown water pump  http://s21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...90309_1850.mp4 |
at this point, the relationship went to pieces.... and the car sat for 1,5 years while i was away... Finally have the house now, so i have access to the poor thing... It is time to revive this japanese supersportscar..!
Testfitted the exhaust, cant wait to hear this baby BRAP once again...! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-04165029.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-04165051.jpg 99spec rears in, looks so much better! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-06185532.jpg FMIC fitted, like a glove! Used the hoodlatchbolt to bolt it dead centre, worked like a charm! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-05224048.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-05223442.jpg |
The end of the day, a cold beer, good work done, nice and warm, sunset... and oh.. what do i spot in the background there...? ;)
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-08212726.jpg |
So, engine is away...I had fitted other major parts...What to do...?
Was sitting in the garage one day after i`d had a major cleanup, enjoying a cold beer in the nice weather, looked at the car and wondered if any of the bolts on the suspension was possible to loosen at all.. And then, the snowball started to roll.. Thanks to WD-40, airtools, elbowgrease and sledgehammer, i had the front subframe with all attachments out after about one hour... Man, those steering end joints, hate em...! And the ABS sensor unit on the hubs...? Dont even mention it..!:icon_tdow Most of theese bolts i dont think has been turned since the car was new...! So, i disassembled the front subframe, started to clean off old rust, wash all units separately and paint em. Used simple and good rustpreventing(yes i know alot of the parts are aluminium, but wanted to keep it simple and clean looking) paint that you use on iron fences. Went with glossy black. Clean and inspection friendly. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...25223115-1.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-26225041.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-26215132.jpg Now that the front subframe was all nice and shiney, the rear had to be done as well. Pulled it out and compared with cleaned front subframe: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-02204937.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-02210906.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-16194743.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-16194809.jpg |
Just some light work done today, reasembled the rear subframe after paint
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-23201959.jpg mmm, cant wait to get the car on the ground on theese again: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-23202121.jpg My dog was going about its business in the garden when he got very curious about something he found  Two hedgehogs just...doin their thang:icon_tup: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-11040216.jpg Dennis(my dog) got abit too curious when he poked his nose too close to the small rascals, so when the male hedgehog felt Dennis nose touch him, he jumped up, so here we are, picking a few small hedgehogpins outta his nose  http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...5-14204650.jpg Now its midsummerfest over here, the beer is out and the bondfires are lit up, have a good one all!:egrin: |
mmmmm, next to new engine wiring loom arrived today, courtesy of Boxer2rotary here on the forum. Great seller!
No more crispy connectors and wires!:icon_tup: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-25185000.jpg |
got some stuff done today. Washed down the engine bay, sanded down old flaky paint, zink-primed it and went for simple satin black for a pure clean look. Offc. i ran outta zink-primer and paint, so only got left side done...
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-30232732.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6-30235114.jpg |
got some stuff done today.
drivers side being sanded down and cleaned.. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-04004016.jpg Hmmm, found rust underneath the battery tray, seems like its caused by a semi-loose batterytray, vibrating/grinding against the chassie, wearing off the old paint and primer..... Salty norwegian coastal weather have not helped on the situation.....:icon_tdow http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-04004028.jpg What is this item, found it under the igniter on the drivers side: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-03220722.jpg Found a second "rats nest" under the breaking-unit..! Also found the remnants of my previously posted semi-eaten window-washer hose and end covers on the steering rack... http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-03220702.jpg Engine bay done, satin black: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-04224908.jpg looks soo much better against the titanium grey paintjob: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-04225110.jpg brakeunit picked apart and refurbished: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-04225212.jpg ABS unit picked down for washing, sanding off and painting: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-04225137.jpg all pipes on the torpedo-wall grinded down, primed and painted: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-04004050.jpg |
small and detailed work today, god how i hate this...
attacked the abs unit and break drum vakuum unit thing with brush, air grinder, sanding paper, degreaser, primer and paint today. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9286.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9293.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9289.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9291.jpg finished up the engine bay in satin black today as well, im pleased!! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9294.jpg Also, one shot of the sun going down today, from my garage. :D http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9276.jpg |
another day, more work.
Put together my BNRs today, minus a few parts im gonna clean up and paint: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-12210104.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-12230645.jpg Went on to reassemble the following units: painted abs unit: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-12220429.jpg and the brake-unit: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-12224538.jpg igniter and fuel unit: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-12224524.jpg then went for a drive in my friends newly tuned celica GT4, man what a nice car to drive! its like riding a train! Nice weather as well http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-07225334.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-07225836.jpg and came home to find my dog bored half to death chillin on the carpet, that little frog! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-11203151.jpg |
more tedious work today. So little done it seems, but so much time goes into getting into those tight spots to sand down, prime and paint... Boring work..!
Got some work done today! :D
rust-protection in the wheel-wells up fron, nice and shineyt: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-26201801.jpg removed covers in front of window, washed and grinded down, zink-primed it and painted satin black http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-26205154.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-26210306.jpg cleaned and washed calipers http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-21203344.jpg bolted up the rear subframe: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-26222047.jpg and fitted it! :D http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...7-26225456.jpg nice, clean, black! |
What an effing nice day it was today! Sun is out, cold beer in the fridge, so we had to do some car-duty!!!
Had to snip a few photos of my house and garage and the view: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9297.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9296.jpg Today, it was front subframe-time! Yes, i know i mounted the front swaybar wrong here, but corrected it before i fitted the subframe: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9295.jpg sliding it in: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9298.jpg and done: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9299.jpg Sandblasted the rear calipers: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9300.jpg Started to remove and clean my old shock/springsetup: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9302.jpg 4 HR springs, sold to a friend of mine, got a brand new set of eibachs, type Howard Coleman-recommended coming in: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9317.jpg |
Had a friend come over today to help me do some heavy lifting and fitting today.
Lovely celica GT4 he has, with some nice bolt-ons and tuneups, but pretty stock looking: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9322.jpg I started to clean the gearbox: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9320.jpg while he started to wrap the downpipe: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9321.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9323.jpg Then, we bolted up the Dragon Performance diffbrace: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9326.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9327.jpg Threw in the main shaft and PPF, together with the Dragon Performance transmission brace(no more 3gear shiftfails they say) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9329.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9328.jpg refitted the intercooler and front fiberglass thingy: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9337.jpg and threw in the spaghetti(main wiring loom) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9341.jpg |
ran into a pretty....annoying... problem with the downpipe. At first, it rubbed against the exhaust-housing of the twinturboes, so we shaved it down abit:
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9332.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9333.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9336.jpg Then, when we test-fitted it, we saw that the hole where you fit the lambda-probe, was totally in the wrong place....!:icon_tdow The downpipe is of unknown origin. Good quality, but i suspect foul ebay-play by the one who sold it to a friend of mine(JDM TT), who couldnt use it, so he sold it to me... and i got the cat in the bag.... http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9340.jpg Anyways, its not my friends fault. Ill just have to fit two new bunges, or whatever you call em, on the other side where it should be :) All in all, a great day!:icon_tup: |
Got a package from NVMYRX-7 today! Superseller, great guy to deal with! He even followed my instructions to make the brand new in box Eibachs look used, so he dusted them up and made em look dirty, and wrote a "thank you for the wires" and tagged "trade" in the export box. Got em through customs without having to pay Norways silly 25% import tax. :icon_tup:
Brand new in the box Eibachs. Approved by Dennis! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9342.jpg also, i hung up the front bumper and placed the hood on top just to dream abit , knowing that my baby is on the road again in about a month  http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...8-03185653.jpg |
Saturday, nothing-to-do-day! So, we do some work on the FD.'
First, i introdused and paired up the newly aquired eibach springs with my old yellow Konis: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9361.jpg Fitted the rear callipers: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9364.jpg then, i had to modify the front underpanel to fit both the FMIC, and the radiator i was to lower abit to get more room up top: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9355.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9357.jpg Had a radiator built for me locally by a friend of mine, and he welded up things abit off, just a few mm, so i had to widen the lower support holes for the fan: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9350.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9351.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9353.jpg then, i started to fabricate some new lower radiator mounts, to fit the radiator a few cm to the front, and lower: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9349.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9358.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9359.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9354.jpg |
Radiator sitting nice and low:
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9362.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9365.jpg threw up a IC pipe just to see how low it was: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9366.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9367.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9368.jpg Cut out hole for the drain bolt: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9371.jpg like a glove: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9369.jpg Also, modifying the undertray abit to let in cold air from underneath the car. Cut a gap 5-6 cm behind the bolts that bolts the tray to the 99spec front, and im going to space out that gap so its even and flows good. a plus, it wont be visible from the front, and air will have a nice trip through the rad, and out the big ventilations in my hood: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9374.jpg |
Hung over-day, so time to do some work on the 7 to get the body working again :)
Bolted up the suspension and swaybars today, and fitted the wheels just to "dream" abit :) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9375.jpg jacked up the rear, to see how low the eibachs are when they are not broken in, i recon they will drop alittle more when they are used abit :) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9376.jpg I can also lower the spring-cup another 2 cm on the shock itself, if it doesnt get low enough, ill do that. Also, have some clearence-issues i have to sort... they juuuust rub, its 3-4 mm, so i have to roll the lip inside the fender to solve the problem: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9377.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9378.jpg but, we are getting closer by the day! Paid shipping on my longblock a few days ago from legio here on the forum. He is crating it now and shipping pretty soon :) I cant wait! Man, the FD looks so sexy from the rear! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9379.jpg |
Another day, more to be done!
Used the rest of the exhaust bandage i had on the mid-pipe. Didn`t even get halfway through it before i ran out. Well, something is better than nothing. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9380.jpg started to bolt up intake pipes etc to the twins, just to sort stuff and have as few loose units as possible http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9388.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9394.jpg Discovered that the intake-set on the car was a trust-set. Im pleased! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9393.jpg Got my "new used" AST from ebay auction today. Unknown brand, but looks pretty good. Dug out my spankin brand new upgraded alternator(left in box), old one right side
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9398.jpg old: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9399.jpg New http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9401.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9407.jpg Anyone else have this problem while doing work on their car? :egrin: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9390.jpg Also, snapped a few cool pics of an awesome moon passing the bridge here, and later going down behind the ridge: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9386.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0/IMG_9387.jpg |
then, this happened.....
''''''''''''''''''''''''''' Well, time to revive this thread from the dead.... That engine i was being told was crated...? Seller = Legion = scammer! He yanked me around for a few months, and then vanished.. Then, with the help of this good forum, i got a hold of his name, adress, phone number etc... so i got a hold of him. He pulled the old " oh, its shipped, dunno what to say, blabla.. i will reimburse you", and i got half... then he disappeared again, for good this time, so i filed a scam charge through my bank. They reimbursed me, and took the case against the US bank and legal system.. That retard barked up the wrong god damn tree this time. He ruined his life for 1000 dollars, and that sentence will stay on his record for life. So, i dug up another engine though the awesome Allrotor93. Cost me abit more, but well worth it! 2000 mile Banzai racing built large streetport 13B-rew, with TII lowcomp rotors, RA black superseals etc.. Banzai even has the buildthread on the engine, on their homepage, and it made over 500 hp no sweat. Allrotor93 is one truely awesome person to deal with. He agreed to be my parts storehouse over there while i searched for parts, and got em shipped to him, so i could stuff it all in a crate and get it shipped over here So, in that crate being shipped soon now, is Banzai racing engine LS coils AEM waterinjection Kaaz diff in the pumkin, bought from a forum member. Allrotor93 knew the guy and dropped by him to pick it up for me greddy elbow, tapped for AI new 6puck clutchkit blockoffkit from banzai dash pod 400lph walboro pump pfc datalogit pfc commander and some more stuff i cant remember off the top of my head. So, just about to pay shipping, and hopefully 3 weeks later, we have all the goodies here in the garage Man, i cant wait! Season is comming soon!! Also have spent my last months in the cold winter, refurbishing the house, so that is 90% done too, but damn its expencive to own a house.. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' |
Aaaahhh, what a fine day it was indeed, and the perks of being single and living alone is the fact that you can take your work with you indoors if you want to. Started out abit chilly, but once the sun came out, it was superb!
Started to rewire my fueltank for the walboro 400 pump. 4mm wire(good for 30 amp), 30 amp relay, 30 amp fuse. 12V direct from battery, to a relay now powered by the cars original pump power wire. Alcatraz on the computer, and just chillin while i do the wiring work. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9747.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9748.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9749.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9750.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9751.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9752.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9754.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9756.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9757.jpg Got this nice prepped relay socket to make relaychange easy business. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9760.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9761.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9762.jpg |
The dog is curious about what "dad" is up to
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9759.jpg I love heatsrink socks, makes everything look so nice and clean http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9763.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9764.jpg Prepped wiring loom http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9768.jpg Took the fuel pump bracket out, and spotted something i really didnt like http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9769.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9770.jpg Stock RX7 pump too that did this..! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9771.jpg Imagining this thing catching fire IN tank..! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9772.jpg Finally, the sun came out and temps went up alot!! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9774.jpg Drilled out two new holes for the power supply: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9775.jpg Grabbed some speaker wire with rubber that withstands chemicals, and added an extra wire sock on it for insulation http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9776.jpg |
Drilled the holes extra large and added an extra sock for more insulation and making the whole thing stick really tight so it wont move around
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9777.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9778.jpg Added some fuel and chemical resistant silicone to seal it properly http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9767.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9780.jpg Also, cut open my front bottom cover earlier to make a cold air intake to my radiator. It scoops air from below the front lip, and straight to the radiator sitting in stock location, and from there, out through a vented seibon hood. Should be enough imo. I will also add some alu sheets to further guide the air. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...d/IMG_9781.jpg |

Ye, saw it, i think you have sold me on the unit, now i just have to find the cash for it...! Gotta find myself a few "cash under the table" mechanical jobs for some quick money :302: |
Love the work you're doing on the car. I'm a big fan of custom work, but I also love seeing simple clean up/paint/restoration projects too lol.
Also, Dennis rocks! I watched a Pit Bull for about 7 months for a friend of mine and he used to lay just like that, like Superman lol. I love that dog. Another thing, I love being single as well. I do some of my work in the living room and I built my first engine in the dining room at my old house lol. |
