The Unofficially Official: To-Do List Thread DGRR 2013 Edition
Lets get it going, post up your post-holiday lunacy plans for your car(s), trucks, bikes, whatever.
I will be posting my list in a little bit, but I will just start with: -engine build -EMS install And I'll ask the burning question we all always have; What do you have NOT planned but are going to freak and do before DGRR, Brian? :cheers2: |
OK, I'll play. Lets seee...
1. Replace rear suspension with full 3 link (in progress). 2. Fit and plumb new Cobra R brake system (sort of in progress) 3. Replace front suspension with Kenny Brown subframe and figure out how to fit front upper unequal length control arms. 4. Make the wheels I bought actually fit. (thus 1 & 3) 5. Annddd make it all look presentable before DGRR. Just a short little list, nothin' to it. |
Paint drivers side of car
Reroute exhaust Rad and oil cooler mounts Find 13" street tires Windshield wipers installed |
Kick the RX7 and tell it to finish itself!? Sadly, it'll be a couple years till my FC is where I want it. At least I have the 8 for now.
Guess I can play seriously... Replace transmission Replace SSV valve Replace throwout bearing Replace end links |
shortblock swap, mount and paint body kit, new wheels and tires, maybe APR wing.
|
I'll play.
RX-8 1) sell it Cosmo 1) rebuild brakes 2) rebuild rear differential (bearings/seals) 3) rebuild carb 4) rebuild front bearings/seals 5) new fluids 6) e-fan 7) upgrade alternator 8) upgrade ignition (electronic) 9) fix some rust 10) tires Hope all this works so I can drive it to DGRR. Otherwise 1) put gas in the Speed3 :D |

We stopped and asked if you needed help, but you can only fit so many dudes under an RX-2. Lol |
My list depends on car driven:
FD : change oil, coolant , kick tires add gas and enjoy. FB : pick the car up find tires/wheels to use the available HP, fix steering, detail car should fix trans and add USDM 5th gear instead of JDM one in it that SUCKS. |

Such a thing exists, does not
|
I'm in the beginning stages of my Blitz FMIC install on my FD, got a lot of fab work to do to get things the way I want it. After that I gotta drop the trans and install a new clutch and change out my 5th gear ratio.
Plenty of time! I hope! :) Other biggie will be getting the other knuckleheads around here to GO this year and to get their cars happy for the Dragon as well. Dale |

Anyway as far as my FC goes, the things to do are: #1. Drive it every once in awhile and pray that it stays in its running condition through DGRR. #2. Possibly replace the battery. |
always wondered what the story was about that tire, hopefully I never see that.
|
Dont worry MC - you'll have you very own set of those tires in a few weeks :)
My list is dependent on which car is coming.. the RX8 or the RX3... RX8 is just down for some maintenance and upgrades while the RX3 is, well... in need of its engine and interior work. We shall see... |
Why you ask?

She dropped off the earth, haven't heard anything from or about her in YEARS. Fine by me! Dale |
SSV valve replaced.... STILL TICKS....
I'm starting to think it's just a byproduct of the bridge port. Since there's overlap now, maybe there's a surge being pushed up the secondaries, causing the valve to oscillate a little, and making it tap against mounting bracket... My best guess... |

Yes, and no. There should be a place across the street from the lodge to park it, but when the show is on the space will be tight. There are other spots to park though, and many cabins might have room.
|
1. Change wheels/pads
2. Adjust the SC belt 3. Fix a pesky coolant leak (only high rpms) 4. Tack my wheel weld and bumper up with something more presentable than racing tape  5. Swap fluids 6. Try not to crash on track before the event :driving: |
Install new oil cooler lines
Add oil Get all 4 wheels back on the ground Pray it still runs in April... Pretty intense. |
-Alignment
-New brake pads -Decide to tune as is, or go ahead and install BNR Stage 4 (would need an intercooler solution, Rotary Extreme V-Mount preferably) -Decide whether or not to purchase AEM Water/Meth kit for water injection -Find and fix small exhaust leak -Plan new oil cooler setup (I want a dual set similar to the FD) -Complete parallel fueling setup -Get rid of crappy Prosport Evos the car came with and install AEM UEGO gauges -Make sure that my other engine is still all ready to go incase I blow the current one up before/during DGRR haha |
Tow vehicle for track car:
Change oil (diesel) Rotate tires Track car: Change oil (still has break-in oil) New R compound tires Fuel up fuel cell Spark plugs Seat harness (expired last year :-( Go-pro roll bar mount Re-do alignment RX-8... Cousin is driving it there: Change a Nissan guy into rotaries Change oil. |
Well, since I found some rust that really needs attention on the Cosmo, I'm bringing the RX-8.
-Change oil -New plugs, wires, coils, -New tires -DETAIL (needs it bad) No biggie. |
Replace the clutch (happening next saturday)
Fix exhaust (hopefully) |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:02 PM. |
