That was fast! Thanks! Just so everyone knows, I am still making these and my initial costs at running only 10-15 units would have been over what IRP is offering them at right now. They backed this project so we could do a much larger quantity (of which an unemployed man like me could not afford to front) to bring the costs down.
The flanges are custom The neck piece is custom The dual port pieces are custom The single -10 ports are custom. The pipe and 90 degree fittings are the only part that we didn't make. (and the O-ring and bolts too of course) So basically, this is as far from off the shelf as a piece can get. I am very happy with how they turned out. |
pm sent about 20b neck

Looks like a great piece! I love the AN ports.

Ok, quick update time. It's been crazy with Thanksgiving and all.
So there is going to have to be a choice made for those wanting the single -10 fitting. The front lifting eye is in the way and will need to be removed, and the -10 port will be facing forward. There is just no other good way to put a -10 fitting in there without requiring different modifications. Otherwise, the dual port will be facing inwards as per the original pictures. and not require removal of the front lifting eye. I will be contacting everyone who has the single -10 selected to assure they know that this piece will require the lifting eye removed. Oh, and pending those responses, there should be more fitment pics coming soon. I am sure everyone is wanting to get their hands on one as soon as possible. |
Final pieces for fitment are on their way to IRP. Once they are blessed off, then final production and shipping for those involved in the group buy begins.

Progress! Final production is almost commencing. Just have to finalize fitment with different lower and elbow combinations.
Dual -6 with stock lower: http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002362 http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002369 Dual -6 with Xcessive lower: http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002374 http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002380 http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002388 |

Single -10 with stock lower:
http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002700 http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002707 Single -10 with Xcessive lower: http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002713 http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1387002720 These ended up being a complete redesign from what is out there. Jut waiting on final fit checks with various lower/elbow combinations to determine if there will need to be two separate units for the stock lower and for the Xcessive lower. Hope you guys like them! Final production should be starting soon!!! -Nathan |
is the oil neck that important ? mine has a hairline crack
|
It's not a crazy essential piece. (except when it comes to filling your oil)
The primary reason for these is to have a blot on solution for use with the Xcessive lower intake manifold. I have seen some ugly examples of burnt/melted and bent stock filler necks to accommodate the movement of the upper when using the Xcessive lower. Also, these have a baffle (not an extreme one, but it will help) built in to help prevent oil from travelling up the filler neck on long right hand sweepers. Combine this baffled filler neck with an opposite side oil-pan area vent, and it should completely solve the problem. The secondary reason for these is to offer a nice looking solution to the guys that want to run -an lines for vents and catch cans, (or use -6 to hose barb adapter fittings, totally an option) The third reason: It looks cool. As for the lines connecting to it, that would need to be figured out on an individual basis. There is a lot of information out there as to what types of setups work best for what goals. Personally, I will be running the dual -6 with the bottom port being ran to a vent line attached to the rear turbo oil drain port to vent the curb side of the engine (the filler neck vents the road side) That way, air pressure has a route out no matter which way the oil is sloshing during a turn. The top vent will be routed to a catch can. |

ok
Still if it needs to be done i will ask this can i use the desighn to make my own ? an a question on oil cooling. was thinking of taking the beehive off and doing a chevy s10 style 4x4 after market oil cooler with a inline filter. got most of the desighn figured out, but not sure how much mass an cooling these things can take, it would only add anothe 3/4ths of a quart a quart at most. it would sit with my eventual electric fan and inter cooler set up i am plotting out.
