question for modified story

I had previously listed the 'other forum" as how I met many of you and that it helped me get my car to what it is today.... I would like to recognize forums in general and many of you who've helped me.

Even though this forum didn't exist back then I'd prefer to say Rotarycarclub.com now and pub this site.

Thoughts please.

88turbotime 04-17-2008 03:35 PM

you should blame the "other forum" for how the car looks NOW :D

zonblitz 04-17-2008 03:59 PM

lol hey they asked me if I wanted to add the wrecked car to teh story, lol.

ummm NO.

I'd say decide where you think your "home" will be and also look at something like who helped you, are they mainly here now or still on the other site?

Or to appease the masses mention both sites.

afgmoto1978 04-17-2008 04:16 PM

Appease the masses, less damage will come of it, lol.

zonblitz 04-17-2008 04:38 PM

sounds fair enough....

done.

Phoenix7 04-17-2008 04:43 PM

Be yourself, what you do shouldn't be based on how others react, otherwise you're not being yourself. If you mention them then awesome, if you don't then awesome.

I've never been a fan of appeasing people because someone will always be unhappy. Do what you have to do and don't look back. IF they get angry then tough, if they don't care then great. Either way you'll have no regrets.

Choose your words carefully. Say what you mean and mean what you say and screw the rest.

WE3RX7 04-17-2008 05:43 PM

I dont think it matters - but I would mention both, just say rotarycarclub.com first, lol.

I'd include the wrecked image actually, just to show you actually drive the car and it isnt a trailer queen like those supra show cars we always see on the covers :)

zonblitz 04-17-2008 06:10 PM

well the other site brought me to my friends here, and this one will go forward, I'm happy to mention both.

I'm leaving the wrecked photo up to the editor, I sent him some.

Phoenix7 04-17-2008 06:18 PM

let me know when it comes out so I can get a copy.

You can always say you started at the rx7club but your new home is RCC or something like that.

zonblitz 04-17-2008 07:09 PM

I have rx7 listed in the beginning with rcc and then all references are to rcc.

It's July Issue so out in early June, let me know what you guys think!

They seem to love that I drive it and want to show the wreck, I told them its totally up to them. They say that so many cover cars are garage queens that it's refreshing. I'm like, whatever... They are already using my broken rear end as part of the tech issue, lol.

Phoenix7 04-17-2008 07:10 PM

OMG you have a sick car that actually drives and handles?? No wai!

I'll keep an eye out.

zonblitz 04-17-2008 07:18 PM

LOL ass... :o21: very funny. I have one wreck... lol.

Garfinkles Motor Works 04-17-2008 08:51 PM

now thats a compliment especially with how great your car looked garfinkle

Pink Flea 04-17-2008 09:20 PM

Fikren, where you at DGRR with your 8? I was drooling over that exhaust!!

Phoenix7 04-18-2008 01:40 AM

naw man, that wasn't even your fault. Everyone knows it was all Pink Flea's doing. Seriously though, show all those trailer queens how a real sports car is supposed to be used.

ya I was there, I was parked next to garfinkles once they finished moving the cars all around in the 40th anny (not the 40th that had the fireballs on it) there in front of the building. I think a friend of yours also gave my wife a ride to the store while I was in that seminar.

Pink Flea 04-18-2008 11:19 AM

Yeah she did.... I know which one yours was, I took a bunch of pictures of your exhaust.

Exactly what I was saying - my cousins Supra was a Turbo cover car about two years ago, but it was a trailer queen 1200whp and never saw real use. My old Rx8 was an HCI cover car and the owner at the time said they couldnt believe the car was driven daily...

Just goes to show, you can have your cake and eat it too....

Phoenix7 04-18-2008 12:35 PM

Garfinkles Motor Works 04-18-2008 09:15 PM

I think we tempted fate enough on Friday evening. ME driving in a race seat, leaning up the whole way, on 1/2 slicks, on a wet road. But I was surprised at how well it stuck to the road. Too bad I didn't get to drive it on the gap on dry road. :driving: Next year you need to bring your interior driver's seat, so I can see out the windshield. :)

SPiN Racing 04-23-2008 08:28 PM

WELL.....

I think the plan at this point is to get Jims car done so he can bring it from Saint Louie.. and I can bring the E Prod car.

But ya know.. I was thinking of bringing BOTH race cars, if I can find or borrow a trailer to fit both of them.

I would of course need someone to drive the less cranky of the two. /HINT

Now to get kicking on overdrive on both of the project-mobiles that are in the garage. (EP and 20B)

The worst part.. I am about to buy a Mill for the garage, and could use that on some hardened parts for the E-Prod car.. as well as part of the shock/spring setup... or part of the clutch setup. /cry
I need to come up with like 8K to get the last few hard parts for that thing.

ROTORX7Holly 04-23-2008 09:24 PM

Sounds like fun projects. Good luck, I hope you complete them by next year. Then what will you do after the 20B is done?

SPiN Racing 04-23-2008 09:34 PM

Once that beast is gone, and on the way to St. Louis.. I have a couple projects in mind.
Other then the E Prod car.
One involves a New ZX-10R engine, and some tubing, and carbonfiber. /nod I may have mentioned it at DGRR. I may just sell the engine though.. I have wood to build up a 20B in PP N/A. I may finish up the E-Prod car.. and then swap in a 20B PP.
That or simply race for a season.
