Kotetsu 07-24-2008 02:52 AM

Good Idea!

I'll try to participate...

Kotetsu 09-01-2008 03:17 AM

How many people from this forum actually live in Japan (about)?

circuit theory 10-21-2008 07:28 PM

Thats it! Just me and Kotetsu???
Anyone in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, etc etc...???

Well Nick it seems you and I are the only two here in Japan.

rx7 vinnie 10-21-2008 09:42 PM

I'm from Laos...but live in Tennessee does that count??? JKJK

circuit theory 10-21-2008 11:36 PM

normally I would say no but hey this section is dead so why the heck not hahaha.
How long did you live in Laos? What took you to Tennessee?

Kotetsu 05-12-2009 09:21 PM

That's right! lol

Circuit Therory and I are the only ones posting down there!

GoFastGTR 05-14-2010 11:49 AM

I usta could be over there with you

Grappler 05-14-2010 04:58 PM

So I am curious how did you guys end up living in japan? (born there? moved? etc.)

soldave 06-16-2010 08:51 AM

S'up guys. Signing in from Okinawa in Southern Japan.

pkz 06-16-2010 09:37 AM

wow you guys are way down in japan, is there many tuner cars in okinawa

soldave 06-16-2010 09:38 AM

Got to say there's a huge amount of horsepower per square kilometre here in Okinawa, especially considering we have no circuits or 1/4 mile drag strips.

circuit theory 06-16-2010 07:26 PM

What this ! action in the japan section!!!

Grappler: I moved here just over 5 years ago. Most guys on this site and the "other" have moved here and were not born here.

Hello Soldave, From what I hear Oki does have a lot of Horsies per square kilometer/mile.

Whizbang 06-16-2010 07:30 PM

i am thinking about talking a hop for two weeks to tokyo via the Yokota air base

circuit theory 06-25-2010 01:45 AM

Great ! When are you thinking to do that?

Whizbang 06-25-2010 07:50 AM

probably spring of 2011. i plan on bringing a fair amount of funding so i can have the military ship some stuff home

Rotary no Densetsu 07-23-2010 02:55 PM

I'll be out there next week. Leaving out Sunday morning. Mostly gonna be a business trip though. Planning on making it out to D1GP in a couple weeks though.

djreact 07-24-2010 02:36 PM

iki ish!

Rotary no Densetsu 07-30-2010 07:33 AM

Its hot as hell in Tokyo.

Any of you Japan local guys going out to D1? I am gonna be out there.

soldave 07-30-2010 07:40 AM

26C and feels like "29C". Come on, that's mild! I've got 29C and "feels like 35" down here in Okinawa! And this is a day when the sun's not out!

speedjunkie 07-30-2010 02:32 PM

I lived in Okinawa from 2000 to 2003, stationed on Kadena AB. I bought an FC when I was there but it was junk so I never got it running lol. A lot of my buddies had FCs they would drag on 58 though. Had another friend that had a first gen, can't remember if it was SA or FB, but it had the rotor shaped wheels on it, SUPER clean. And another friend had an FD right before I left.

I had an S13 Silvia for the last couple years I was there too but it was stock. I will say though, there were quite a few high HP cars when I was there though.

And I do remember it being hot and muggy as shit in Okinawa during the summer too LOL, especially when a typhoon was coming and we were in our wet weather gear that didn't breathe at all, in the pouring rain putting all the equipment in hangars lol.

soldave 07-30-2010 02:35 PM

Yeah there's a bit of power here. Quickest foreigner-owned car is probably an R32 pushing about 900rwhp. It's full weight with working AC and everything too, boosting about 2.2-2.5 bar I think.

Rotary no Densetsu 07-30-2010 11:37 PM

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. That is pretty impressive. I am only out here for a couple more weeks sadly. But I will be back in April in an attempt to open a new business and stay for good.

Looking at picking up an FC or FD. I have not really decided. Probably an FC cause I feel bad about beating on my FD already, plus I will be doing a lot of drifting. We will see though.

Yeah Okinawa sucks as far as weather goes, cause I fucking haaaate humidity and all that shit. Tokyo isnt all THAT bad. Its about the same where I live in the states. Its just uncomfortable. rofl

soldave 07-31-2010 08:32 AM

It is impressive, although not my car I should note. Prior to this FC I had a '92 original Mitsubishi Evo which was a daily driver and drag racer (http://soldave.ismysite.co.uk/biginjapan/about-my-car)

Enjoy the rest of your trip. Humidity is a killer, for me and for horsepower.

speedjunkie 07-31-2010 12:37 PM

Yep, I hate humidity and heat also. That's why I love living in Colorado haha.

Rotary no Densetsu 08-01-2010 08:35 AM

Yeah I really feel you on that one man. But fuuuuuuuuuuuck I love Japan way too much to stay away from it.

Jonflip29 08-29-2010 04:37 PM

What's going on folks. I live in Atsugi, Japan. Just got here a few months ago. Used to own a 87 TII back in the states but sold it before I moved here. I currently am looking for an FD either out here or back home to start a new project. I am a Nissan lover at heart but I can't seem to stay away from these rotaries! Something about them I love. Anyways, just wanted to shout out and let you guys know i'm here with you.
