Looks good, glad that trans is working out for you. Look forward to seeing you in the fall at the Speed For Sale Shootout.
|
Great looking car. I like the BMW as well.
|
nice! I like the lip. Great job. Don't forget to enter it in next month's ROTARY OF THE MONTH Contest.
|
Thanks for the compliments.....

Bestiality should be illegal. How much power are you putting down to the ground?

It made 470whp at 10 psi and 560whp & 414 tq at 14.5 psi.....

I was off, it was 14.92...call it 15psi...not 14.5
You question the difference but 15 psi is 50% more than 10 psi..... |

Thanks Mr 5A.
The 20b is a pretty strong engine. |
Who did the install...I have been thinking about going this route...but just so undecided due to the amount of work...
|
This car was at the DGRR 2008. Beautiful car and well put together!
Kai, I believe RX7store did the install. I think I also have few pics of this car from the event.. PHIL |

www.rx7store.net. They actually have several in progress pics of the build. They have 1 or 2 more 20b jobs in progress now. I am very happy with the work they did. As you'll notice, there are a lot of 20b project in progress but few 20b's on the road...that is because there is a ton of little things to do that you just don't think of going into the project. I would have never completed the project if I did it on my own. I have a demanding job and a family so the only way I could have the car is have someone else build it. PM me if I can help in anyway. Good luck. |
Yeah, I saw it at DGRR, sounded beautiful too.
Sigh... I want it. |

Very nice, I soon to will be joining the 20B club...Can't wait...May take a couple years though to finish...LOL...
|
you ARE going 20B!?!
|
Why not?......He's got every other mod :)
|
well, I asked him for an interview :suspect: What he'd do differently if he were to do it all over again and he said 20B. SO it's great/funny to see that he IS going 20B.

Rotory horsepower gains and air-flow
Efficiency gains in rotories never cease to amaze me when increasing airflow.
My built 3-rotor with a Borg-Warner S-400 turbo acheived a 100 horsepower gain on the dyno at 17psi when the exhaust system was simply removed at the downpipe. This was a quality exhaust with no cats, not stock! My NA 2-rotor 6port gained over 40hp by removing the cats and replacing the exhaust with an Apexi GT N1 and a K&N intake. That is on a motor that comes stock with only 148hp! |
Wow....how loud was the 3 rotor? On the flip side, I thought I would restrict hp with my airfilter but it dyno'd the same with and without....I have a 4 in exhaust TB but I do have a resonated midpipe and a CB.
Looks like you are new to the forum....Welcome. |
Thanks for the welcome. My down pipe goes from 5"down to 4". After seeing the dyno results I put an electric butterfly y pipe at the end of the downpipe and I can open it up with the flick of a little toggle switch on the console. It sounds like the hounds of hell! Unfortunately I have some motor issues right now that I haven't had time to investigate.
I also have a second gen 3-rotor with a whipple supercharger and an 850 cfm Mighty Demon carb. It is a fun car, a very simple, dependable set-up that makes a great all around car. I'm almost 54 yrs old and I shock the heck out of the boys around here when I just walk away from their prized Evos, WRX's, etc. -Love your car-very sharp! ' |
Were you at DGRR this year with a white FD? Sounds like you have some really cools cars. Cool to see another older guy in the import scene.
|
on the old guy note, we used to have another 3 rotor guy that spent the winters down here in AL. Dick Lambert. Have not heard his name around in a year or so. I think Dick is in his mid 60's. I heard he sold his CYM 3 rotor but still has his white drag FD.
|
Yeah that was me Vincent-I thought your car looked familiar.
Now about the "old guy" references; nobody that owns 6 RX-7's and 5 20-b motors can be old. Just think of me as a mature juvenile. Just ask my wife! |
Actually I'm Bobby....I live in Vincent. I recall you were just finishing the install and didn't have it running yet. I remember the BW turbo that was huge. One of the guys with you ended up buying an ignition amp from me while I was there. Planning on going to DGRR in '09? You should consider the Speed for Sale event in October. I'm planning on trailering my car down for that. Maybe I can get my wife to bite on the "mature juvenile" line. She just thinks it is a mid life crisis.....
|
Bobby,
Based upon my experience you can forget getting your wife to change her mind about your car hobby. My wife cannot see any intinsic value in it at all. Yes, that was Brian Gray that bought your amp-he is my local partner in crime and the one who told me about DGRR. What, and where is, the Speed for Sale event? |
Look on this forum in the vendor section for the vendor Speed For Sale. In that section is a thread on the event. It is in late October..... Check it out and let me know what you think. Looks like there are going to be some really fast cars there.
|
VincentRx7... Hi. Thought I'd see how civilized it might be over here. Nice to see your car. I am really thinking of a 20b East Coast meet.
Gordon |
Good to hear from you....How many RUNNING 20b's are on the east coast?
|
Very Nice 7.
