Hoods for the FB

Does anyone stateside make hoods for the FB? Or at least sell hoods? I might be in the market during the winter since mine has some rust in the support frame.

BigTeddy 10-19-2008 11:33 PM

depends on what your looking for. There is a guy out of
Aussie, that sells carbon fiber hoods for the SA/FB going price for them is $450 some odd dollars

Nutsid 10-20-2008 09:29 PM

BigTeddy 10-21-2008 04:25 AM

or you could go with that...but the guy from the rx7club.com has way cleaner better looking up to date and style hoods...They look alot slicker being that there carbon fiber

Nutsid 10-21-2008 10:01 AM

I was just throwing in a different option. If you are talking about Fibremaz, he does excellent work, but I'm not particularly hip on the whole carbon fiber thing, especially on old cars.

PercentSevenC 10-21-2008 01:21 PM

Me either. I like carbon fiber as a material, but I couldn't stand not having it painted.

Phoenix7 10-21-2008 02:02 PM

So paint it....I do know Fibermaz makes good CF products so give it a hot if you can.

ooooo.....

P71 11-07-2008 10:57 AM

Do want!

FerociousP 11-07-2008 12:33 PM

I like that its subtle enough and its design is "era specific" in a way...

djmtsu 11-07-2008 01:07 PM

Now make one for the FC.

Oh wait, you're in Aussie land. The shipping would be more than the hood!!! DAMMMIIITT

warwickben 11-13-2008 06:15 AM

hey fibremaz you making that hood in cf yet.

Hi, yes can do, I won't be selling these out of the USA though. The OEM style hoods got me nowhere and cost me a lot of money :beatdeadhorse5:

P71 11-13-2008 08:30 PM

I didn't even know about the OEM style one?!?!?? Still here? How much? CF or FG?

Whizbang 11-13-2008 11:08 PM

I'd be happy to help you out. Rx4 parts don't fetch as much as Rx2/3 parts in Aus as they're not as popular here

Whizbang 11-14-2008 01:08 AM

i am working on picking up two. one is a wagon. And i think some of the AUS spec parts look better anyway. Im sure we can work something out when the time comes.

warwickben 11-14-2008 05:58 AM

so let me get this right you didn't sell enough to keep them being made in the states so we have to pay more on shipping cause there coming from down under? is that what you were saying.

no big deal its work it in my book considering a guy i work with paid 900 for a f250 hood from saleen.

warwickben 11-14-2008 04:33 PM

Whizbang 11-14-2008 04:52 PM

im willing to pay the shipping from Aus.

warwickben 11-14-2008 05:16 PM

Not of that exact hood in CF. I really need to sell the f/glass hood to afford materials to start CF hoods...
There's still only a few FB's with CF hoods (US made) getting round over there.

Will have on car pics of hood in picture up soon

*note grey hood in pic is Aussie made*

do you have any of the plain FB CF hoods in the US waiting for a purchaser, or are they produced on a per-order basis? The structural section is the factory FB metal piece isn't it (i can't remember if that was what you said)?
