High output alternators

Hi,

I remember that you had a thread over at the 'other' forum about high output alternators for sale and you also take in cores for rebuild & modification. Are you guys still doing this?

Thanks.

F/S original mazda alternators modded for high amp output--polished too

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i get these custom built custom, and yes they come with a 1 year no hassel warranty
they are direct bolt on units for 78 on up to 95 rotary engines

the FC/FD alternators are dis-assembled, the housing sent out for polishing.. the internals of the alternator get re-worked, the stator is modified, custom voltage regulator installed, new bearings and a couple of other things the builder wont share with me.. once its re-assembled the alternator sits at a solid 14.5 volts all the way up to 180 amp draw!! using the stock pulley
these alternators work great if you run lots of electronics,(IE,big fuel pumps, msd units aftermarket EMS, aftermarket stereo systems, electric e fans, etc, etc..)

yes we are still doing the alternater upgrades, and yes, we do take cores in for a reduced price to the customer.

Thanks for the info. I assume it is still the same information as on the other forum? Might be a good idea if we post that here so others that are interested can also get in on it.

I will probably ship mine down to you by the end of the week. So would it be $260 then?

Also, do RCC members have a special discount? :)

$260.00 it is and RCC members get free express shipping just to sweeten up the deal!

How high is "high output"? What kind of amps do these things push?

My FB's poor old 60 amp is sorely outclassed by the EFI ECU, injectors, fuel pump 2xMSD boxes, etc. I could put on an 80 amper from an FC, but I'd like to have a radio, too, so methinks I need larger than that.

Nice. Does this includes the polishing as well?

Also, do you mind if the alt pulley is still attached or not?

Thanks.

if you send your old alternator in, whatever amperage it made before, is usally doubled. so yours would be boosted to 120 amps, and a fd alternator would be boosted to almost 200 amps. these boosted alternators help sooo much when you start stacking up electronic devices..

polishing is an extra $40.00
its fine if you dont send it with a pulley

ok so now upgrading the alt amperage wont hurt the system any will it..

I am using an S4 n/a alternator on my engine swap (because mine is in great shape) but I would like to up the power a bit if it will not harm/overlad the system..

any precautions that need to be taken in order to run a high amp alternator?

This REALLY gets my interested expecially with a polish job too.

the hi-amp units are simple plug and play. no precautions needed. the new internal voltage regulator keeps the power in check. the extra voltage is there when its needed :)

ok so let me get this correct..

260.00 is the cost if I send in my unit to you to have it upgraded
40.00 extra to have it polished
free return shipping

is that correct?

THX for the fast reply

for guys on a budget, i have re-built polished alternators for various applications. These are factory amperage. pm me for more info.. thanks

Dannobre 09-09-2012 01:31 PM

Have you done any RX-8 alternators?..What kind of output would you get?

no i have not, but im sure they can be modified.. usually when you modify the alternator for higher amperage (change the stator, rotor and voltage regulator) the output doubles..... i will check with my guy and get you exact specs on output performance for the rx8 alternator
