Junkyard findings

i plan on grabbing up the two rx2, both rx4s and the 808. This was only the one junkyard. The cars are very solid and def. worth restoring.

djmtsu 11-02-2008 10:13 AM

I'll take the yellow one and the wagon please!!!!

Dammit!

Whizbang 11-02-2008 10:17 AM

this place was down right nuts. probably 1000 cars / trucks nothing newer than 1985 and as old as 1910

Max777 11-04-2008 05:28 PM

lol, any Datsun 510's out there? That place looks cool!

Good find.

whitey85mtu 11-09-2008 07:43 PM

every time i look at this thread, all I can think is "you lucky SOB!" Good luck with the restorations, it looks like it's gonna be a blast.

jerd_hambone 11-12-2008 09:44 AM

It makes me so mad that these are scattered through junk yards everywhere.

But for some odd reason, I never see any haha

Whizbang 11-12-2008 12:29 PM

once i get my new living conditions in order, first thing im doing is getting the rx4 wagon

fc nut 11-16-2008 09:27 PM

i love old school cars.good luck with the restos. the only old car that i'v seen in a junkyard worth saving was an old early 70's renault. i didn't know what kind it was ,but it was a fastback and the exterior and the interior was in very good shape.i opened the hood to see what was under and what i found was a twin cam fuel injected engine that was mounted ass backwards.the front of the engine was mounted to the trans.

BigTeddy 11-25-2008 07:59 PM

lucky bastard...lol...man that is a sweet find...good thing your going to resto them and not part or junk them...good job bro, hope you follow through

Whizbang 11-26-2008 01:23 PM

i just need some more space to get them home.

Terrh 11-27-2008 01:57 AM

glad to see they still exist

this summer when scrap prices were at a premium I am sure a whole lot of old j-tin got crushed :(

BigTeddy 11-27-2008 03:05 AM

its sad

12arotary 12-10-2008 05:11 PM

not really mine to sell. But i know where it is and i could attempt to get you contact info. But i can not guarantee a title (issue i was having)

Rotarydave 02-03-2009 10:01 PM

pm me i can help with some title issues and i might need some help, BTW what year was the 808 if you remember

Whizbang 02-03-2009 10:05 PM

i can find out this week

its going to be nice tm so ill head out to it again

Rotarydave 02-03-2009 10:57 PM

pull the vin numbers it is the first step I will need to determine if we can get titles, also it is how i try to track the vehicles as well, would love to get more pics of them, I also know of a couple of yards a few hours from you that used to have some old school stuff if they are still there

Whizbang 02-04-2009 06:05 PM

ill get the vins of all the interesting stuff when i go. Couldn't make it today, but tm its going to be around 70 so it might be worth checking out.

Daaaammmmm yellow one looks great. My dream is to find a 74 Luce Rx4 in some old lady's garage and get a great deal as well as a great car. Its hard to find good stuff in So Cal junkyards. Because they scrap the cars after a week or two to make room for the next wave of cars. You my friend on the other hand hit the jackpot!!!!!!

Whizbang 02-12-2009 11:06 PM

yea what sucks is that im in ohio again. but i plan on trying to come through can grab everything

Look, I know how to make this work, trust me I own more old school than probably anyone.

You go into all of the local pick a parts or other scrappers and the ones I am talking about are the seedy ones that pickup all the crap cars not the new ones. You kiss ass.... yea you heard me right kiss the owners ass be very very nice, see what they have in any old school stuff, buy a couple of small items every so often so they see you, then let them know hey these cars are what I do, if you get one in call me I will give you more than you will get as a scrap price.... the last part and this is real important.. they might say I can't let you take the car because..... if they do say that then say OK but I tell you what I want to buy the ability to strip it right here so that I get everything I want and you still get what you need

believe me it works

Whizbang 02-13-2009 12:01 AM

great idea right there. i need to go poke around and see what has popped up locally

Nopis1O 02-21-2009 11:15 AM

you my friend have a lot of work ahead of you. ha
