Wow... Bright!

djmtsu 11-04-2008 12:21 PM

Why did you have it repainted Phil?

Door was chipped because of the break in and the bumper was cracked and then splitted after speed4sale track day.

djmtsu 11-04-2008 02:21 PM

Ahh, gotcha!

It looks like it is brighter, or has some pearl to it. Is it factory spec?

Herblenny 11-04-2008 02:31 PM

I was using my phone camera..

By looking at the door, they matched it pretty well.. But I guess I'll have to wait and see it after they mount it on the car..

But to be honest, color was slightly off from the factory...

Whitey 11-04-2008 03:22 PM

Is that a Kenstyle rear?

Herblenny 11-04-2008 03:57 PM

Whitey, You are good!! yep! it is... I liked the rear but didn't like the front.

Wangan_X 11-10-2008 12:14 AM

Now put the wheels on it and take moar pics Phil

lilring 11-10-2008 04:06 PM

I just got the car back..

Overall they did a great job!! I'm a picky person and obviously I saw few little mistakes.. but overall I'm very happy with the way it turned out. The car looks brand new inside and out and very pleased with the outcome.

Pics are taken by my phone camera so its not the best.

Paint was near perfect match!! the bumpers were painted and matched very well. Door was slightly off but better than how it was before..

PHIL

cabaynes 11-10-2008 07:53 PM

Lookin good Phil, kind of a strange combo with the red & black interior, but the yellow looks great! (you know i love yellow:))

You mentioned the paint was off from the factory, when I had my white rx8 the front bumper and rear bumper was a slightly different color white than the rest of the car, as were the rain rails on the roof, seemed the factory did a poor job of painting and the plastic parts changed hue slightly compared to the metal body parts.

anyways, looks great! I couldn't afford to keep my 8 because of gas prices! haha

lilring 11-10-2008 08:47 PM

looking good. i think i might acutally copy you and do the MS with that rear bumper

Herblenny 11-11-2008 10:58 AM

Well, the car's not back in the shop for some mazda recall and the engine light.

Now I'm driving a Mazda3:)

Nutsid 11-11-2008 03:27 PM

I'm sorry to hear about your car being back in the shop, but it looks really good.

Herblenny 11-11-2008 03:37 PM

Thanks!

After it comes out of the dealership, I then have to take it back to the body shop.
They forgot to replace one of the interior piece which was damaged during the break in..

Another rental... LOL!

Nutsid 11-11-2008 03:40 PM

lol Everytime I come into the Rx8 section it seems like your Rx8 is in the shop again for something else. I just can't believe how much it seems like that thing is having trouble. At least this is for an interior piece and not something mechanical.

Herblenny 11-11-2008 04:01 PM

LOL!

I know.. It all started with the stock fuel pump crapping out... now I think its the gas cap or something else.. I don't know.. But the dealership JUST called and said my car is done.

Interior piece, they body shop just forgot to order it... So, it would be another couple of days.

warwickben 11-19-2008 07:12 PM

iam not huge on body kits ect mainly because alot of them make the car unsafe. but i love your rear end. normally i only say that to big booty girls. can you post links andinfo on it.

I'm curious as to how bodykits make cars unsafe ???

I'm loving that rear end too, Herb...

warwickben 01-07-2009 03:56 PM

i know a few people who have put them on and told me about how they dont work with the metal bumper, thats what i meant by unsafe that is all. i know now that most of the ones for the rx8 you retain the stock metal bumper.

Herblenny 01-07-2009 05:00 PM

Thanks Guys! I do like the rear bumper and I'm happy with how the car looks.

But the damn engine!! UGH!!! My Engine light is back on!! I'm pretty sick and tire of this car and the damn engine light!

Kane 01-08-2009 09:02 PM

Looks good - I like it better without the twin tips.

rotarygreg 01-08-2009 09:08 PM
