Don't think that would go over well.

WE3RX7 04-10-2009 11:45 AM

Accuweather.com yesterday said rain friday, sunny sat and sunday morning, and rain again sunday night...

It seems to be similar to last year.... we'll have to keep an eye on it I guess..

Trout2 04-10-2009 02:15 PM

As long as it doesn't snow, I was looking at the tail of the dragon website the other day and they said it snowed this past Monday.

HDP 04-10-2009 03:41 PM

Well, the storms that just rolled through north Alabama left their mark... the 7 sustained pretty heavy hail damage. Still plan to go, so don't anyone make fun of my swiss cheese hood and karate-chop R1 wing.

Brent 04-10-2009 03:44 PM

Very sorry to hear that Don. Hopefully it's not too bad.

Unfortunately, it is... looks like they will have to replace the hood, maybe both front fenders and the R1 wing and probably new paint after the remainder of the hail dings are removed.

hopefully it wont rain the whole drive up there like last year, and if it rains it rains still means a fun weekend.

But the frogs, they'll probably be back. :puke:

rotarybeat1287 04-10-2009 10:18 PM

lmao! That was the worst ever. That late night run. haha. Running the gap @ 1am in a torrential down pour. haha.

Herblenny 04-10-2009 11:31 PM

Don, I was at Leo's shop today and it started to hail.. Luckily it was kind of a small hail and I don't think any damage occurred.. But it freaked me out, especially in my newly acquired car.. I guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow when I take the layer of pollen off and see if it in fact did any damage..

Hope all will work out for you and hope you get a brand new paint job!

RIZZXX7 04-11-2009 06:24 AM

Man I hope I don't hit none of that crap when I head out there!!!

I usually don't see hail.. First time in about 4-5 years.

Proxy One 04-11-2009 11:07 AM

Well, my STi got some hail damage last night, just the hood though as its the only thing thats aluminum. Its gonna be fun finding one or I guess Ill just get a carbon fiber one.

djmtsu 04-11-2009 12:16 PM

Am I the only one who uses their garage to protect their car?!?!?!?!

I can't believe all the damage you guys incurred, and the tornado was 2 miles from my house!!!!

The 3, the Jeep and the 626 all survived in the hail. The FC and the Miata were garaged.

I don't really have a choice. Here's a few pics I just took.

RIZZXX7 04-11-2009 04:17 PM

damn!!!

Max777 04-11-2009 06:27 PM

dude, just go wingless, or get the '99 spec, it looks oh so sexy. :D

As far as dings go btw, you guys got nothing compared to my car, lmao.

PS: I'm taking a hobbyist autobody course at my local college during the summer in order to try to get the car to look half way decent again, right now I'm thinking pearly white, but I might just swirl up another batch of the factory "Brave Blue" and lay down some flake, and massive polishing to make it shiny.

Herblenny 04-11-2009 07:14 PM

WOW Don, That's some serious hail damage! How big were those hails? I checked my car today and nothing.. Sorry to see the damage

ZGN 04-11-2009 08:08 PM

My gosh, If one of those would have hit you in the head...

ROTORX7Holly 04-11-2009 09:00 PM

Damn Don that really sucks. At least a car can be repaired. I knew another rotorhead whose car was damaged by hail. Before he had it repaired, he just said it was "textured for her pleasure".

My jaw dropped when I saw your spoiler... :(

Herblenny 04-12-2009 06:12 PM

djmtsu 04-12-2009 08:42 PM

Looks like the weather has changed again. Only chance of rain is Sunday, and right now it is only around 20%.

Woot!!

bop_rocco 04-12-2009 08:44 PM

Hate to see that.
