I am in. Will send payment when I get back from vacation.

$100T2 03-14-2008 08:53 PM

I'll take two of 'em.

Now, does anybody know where I can get OEM keys for the FC? I think my keys are a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a you get the idea... I know sometimes you can have luck at the dealer if they have some past history with the car, but in the case of my 'vert, I don't know what kind of luck I'll have.

I do have an in at the local Mazda dealer, can they look the codes up beyond what they're willing to do off the street for someone?

JL1RX7 03-14-2008 09:08 PM

Yep just ordered one!

Did you mean a Brand New OEM key? You need the dealer to cut it? I think they can with your VIN number. I know on newer cars they can.

djmtsu 03-14-2008 10:15 PM

When I worked at a Mazda dealer in 1999, they cut me a key off the VIN. I think they still can.

FerociousP 03-14-2008 11:30 PM

I had one done off the VIN about a year ago... have to show the title...

those keys are badass... what are the "handles" made of??

The Rotor itself is a metal alloy, finished in chrome plating with black enamel details. It's got substantial weight to it... just the right amount.

Herblenny 03-15-2008 02:45 PM

They're held on with a pretty strong rivet, in the middle as you can see. I haven't had anyone return a broken one yet.

how would you recommend getting the keys cut? With our cars being older should we just copy our current key, or should we get one cut off the VIN?? Being there's only one shot to get it right...

Just take your current key to the locksmith, I haven't had anyone not able to use their new keys. Copy your current key.

JL1RX7 03-27-2008 01:25 PM

Me I have had no such luck. Been to three different places. One guy said my key was too special and he wouldnt do it. The other ones had issues with it fitting into the jig on the machine. But I hope to get it cut this weekend somewhere!

FerociousP 03-27-2008 01:54 PM

I just got mine cut at a hardware store here in m'boro. took about a minute and it was FREE! works fine on every lock and ignition... the guy did say like 5 times that he wasn't liable if it didn't work tho :)

thanks Rotary13b1 for a great product!

Rotary13B1 03-27-2008 02:08 PM

Yeah, I've had a few guys say they can't find people to cut it for them. But once cut, it works just like NEW! Someone WILL cut it for yah!

JL1RX7 03-27-2008 02:10 PM

I know, I just thought it was funny cause he said it was special key and he couldnt cut it. Hell it is almost a 20 year car, not some new BMW or the like!

Rotary13B1 03-31-2008 03:56 AM

Okay everybody, last week for the 10% off on the Rotor Keys. I'm gonna pull the plug on the special and put something else on SALE next week. = )

Rotary13B1 04-05-2008 05:06 PM

Thanks to everyone who purchased the Rotor Key Blanks from us during this special event. The Sale is now over.

Thanks again!

Nopis1O 04-13-2008 01:52 AM

Oh does that mean sale price is over or all the keys are gone? how much full price i still probably want one?

Rotary13B1 04-13-2008 03:14 AM

Nopis10, the sale is over, but you can still purchase the key blanks!

Just send over the payment or purchase it from the site!

TehMonkay 05-19-2008 01:39 PM

I know this thread is old, and the sale is over, but, for the FC at least, you can take the rear hatch lock cylinder out, and have a custom key cut for it, which will work on all of the locks, and it works great! Just like new. I thought i'd add that to address those of you who were wanting an OEM key cut.
