De-ABS-ing my car...best solution?
Alright, so I already had to deal with the leaking ABS pump; tossed it out and put in an ugly block adapter kit to reconnect the loose lines. What do I need for a more elegant/functional solution? Is it possible to swap in non-ABS rx-7 hardlines, is it more involved than that? Any other changes I might not have considered? Thanks in advance.

Swapping in the Non-ABS hardlines would be the way to go. Even better would be to get lengths of the SS tube and bend up your own, then have it double-flared. That woul be the best. That's what I did.
Or you can get some SS braided lines from Goodridge as well. They make awesome stuff. Just out of curiosity, what are you doing with all te old sensors and rings? I may want them if they are going to the can :D |
custom lines... sounds sweet.

Custom lines would be sweet, but kinda $$$ and not needed.
Junk FC's are everywhere, and it takes 5 minutes to get the lines out. |
Custom hardlines aren't that expensive. The custom Goodridge -3AN stuff can get expensive and I've ALLLLLLMOST ordered some with $45 fittings crimped onto the ends.
SS Hardlines can be found at a bunch of different places. I think I got mine from http://www.classictube.com/ I'd be leary about reusing 20+ year old brakelines. Mine were getting a little rotten in the rear and I'd hate to loose brakes when you need them. So, old ABS parts :suspect: |

You need a heater :D Where are you located? I'll pull up some FSM, microfische type pics and show you what I need. Thanks
|
Definitely need a heater. I am located in Chicago, IL. Let me know what you need, maybe we can work out some trades, I am sure I will need something you may have.

What about proportioning valve, master cylinder...is there anything there I need to consider or even options that I have?
Incidentally, does anyone have a good website for OE parts? |

Best website for stock parts to look up prices and part numbers is Mazdatrix. Ray @ Malloy Mazda will usually beat thier prices though
