Title says it all. I just got done with it today. The internal wastegate actuator cracks the cutout open at 14 psi and fully opens at 25 psi. Like keeping the quiet 3" exhaust from the MP back, but then have enough flow for big power :D.

Nah, its not gonna be there. My mom and dad are driving my wifes FD, and the wife and I are bringing my t2.

Beautiful job Bryan!

Can't wait to come check it out!

Bryan@BNR 02-09-2010 12:27 PM

thanks guys.

Now my original intake doesn't work so I will have to make a custom air box. Oh well. Comes with the territory. I am so satified the way the turbo sits in the car. Its not like any other T6 turbo install I have seen yet. The turbine housing sits right at the strut tower and the 4" pipe has all kinds of clearance all the way down. There isn't much room for a intake pipe in the front so I will have to get out the drawing board for that to work out.

Hey Brian,

Have you ever tested exhaust back pressure in the turbine outlet on your cars? or this one?

I only ask cause I never had and in my current car I decided to do so and even with a racing catalytic converter, middle muffler and rear muffler my "exhaust system pressure is quite low" when running 3.5" diameter. Turbine inlet pressure is always lower than Inlet manifold pressure too.

I run a T04Z with 1.00A/R with 13B-REW.

Looks really good. I've thought about doing similar. If I ever have free time from other projects I think I will. Hows the noise on full open? worse then an open gate?

Bryan@BNR 02-24-2010 10:15 PM

Thanks guys. The car has just been cranked up on. I haven't road tested it b/c I changed the turbo. Still need to change the tune before testing this. I am not too worried about back pressure now Peter :P.

Thanks. that style of cutout tends to leak a bit. The car still is quiet when it is idling and going through the low throttle revs which is what I wan't. Quiet. I am sure this thing will become very loud when the valve cracks open. It has a turn down so it will amplify that loudness for everyone to hear! It won't be N/A rotary loud, but it will definately cause people to put their fingers in their ears.
